The Palatio Arancione 398 Share Posted June 3, 2023 (edited) Issued by the Andromedan Court On the 14th of Owyn's Flame, 66 BA As the Balainese people rebuilt within the lands of Aevos, so too were the courts reformed beneath Queen Andromeda of Ba’as. Taking on the new title of Palatiodora, Lady Serena d’Arkent built a court in the vision of the Queen which better represents the Culture and values of the Balianese. This new court settled within the Palatio Arancione shall be titled the Andromedan Court after the Queen herself. THE PALATIO ARANCIONE The Palatio Arancione is built upon an island to the south of Portoregne with the front of the Palace facing toward the city. The Palatio’s name comes from the exotic orange trees within the gardens which Queen Andromeda imported during the Palatio’s construction. The Palatio Arancione acts as the seat of power for the Royal House of Novellen as well as the home of the Andromedan Court. The first floor of the palace features an open floor plan with spaces designed for revelries and court gatherings which courtiers may move through as they please. The upper floor consists of the private chambers of the Royal Family, of which access is restricted to only the Royal Family and their trusted acquaintances. Surrounding the Hall de Giuan the Queen’s lush gardens house plants from the Crownlands and her homeland of Ba’as. THE QUEEN’S COUNCIL THE QUEEN-CONSORT The Queen-consort stands as the official head of the Andromedan Court, having the final say in all matters in relation to the courts or the Palatio Arancione. While the Queen holds official control of the courts, the vast majority of daily operation is managed by the Palatiodora, whom the Queen Consort appoints. The Queen-consort stands as a figurehead and is responsible for directing the Andromedan Court and representing the Balianese in the public eye, unlike the members of her council who manage much behind closed doors. The queen is responsible for ensuring the overall direction of the court properly matches the crown’s goals. Her Royal Majesty, Andromeda Ester of Ba’as THE PALATIODORAThe Palatiodora of the Andromedan Court holds major administrative control over the Courts and Palatio Arancione, as well as any event in association with the Andromedan Court. While typically allowed near full control over the daily affairs of the court, the Palatiodora may be overruled by the Monarch, their consort, or the Princess Royal. Similarly, the Palatiodora may only be appointed or removed from their position by the Monarch or their Consort. The Palatiodora is tasked with ensuring all council positions are filled and properly managed, should a position be unfilled, the palatiodora shall take over the duties of said position until it is filled. The Palatiodora should strive for nothing less than perfection within the court, ensuring all staff carry out their duties appropriately and effectively. The Palatiodora is expected to hold vast knowledge of Balianese culture and traditions and as such, frequently acts as an advisor to the Crown on cultural matters. Her Excellency, Nicoletta Sarkozic, Viscountess-consort of Pompourelia THE CAMAREIRO The Camareiro is appointed by the Palatiodora and acts as the second-in-command within the Andromedan Court. Should the Palatiodora be absent, the Camareiro would stand in for them at functions of the Andromedan Court. The Camareiro is responsible for ensuring the lesser court positions are occupied and effectively performing their duties while also encouraging the development and inclusion of Balianese culture within the works of the court. The Camareiro also acts as the bridge between the Andromedan Court and the Peers, tasked with communicating with the Peers of the Kingdom to ensure they are actively involved with court functions. Lord, Casimir Marius Vilac THE AMFITIRO The Amfitiro is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of the events and revelries of the Andromedan Court, both major and minor. The Amfitiro is frequently assisted by the other members of the Queen’s Council and the Palatiodora’s Advisors, but they typically bear the majority of the managerial responsibility of events. Should the Amfitiro see the need for assistance, they are granted the privilege to hire aid to assist in event planning and execution. These aids shall be known and Court Amfitirers. Lady, Irena Galbraith THE SECRETARIAT The Secretariat of the Andromedan Courts typically works behind the scenes, managing court publications and records. Unlike the other positions on the Queen’s Council, the Secretariat is prized for their strong skills as a scribe and record keeper, rather than their interpersonal skills. The Secretariat is responsible for ensuring publications by the Andromedan Court are legible and properly formatted, as well as assessing the quality of any written works produced by the lesser court. The Secretariat is additionally responsible for keeping accurate records of court history and appointments as well as managing the distribution of keys and apartments within the palace to courtiers as needed. Miss, Erzsebet van der Vervoren PALATIODORA’S ADVISORS As the main executive of the Andromedan Courts, the Palatiodora frequently must make decisions that have major impacts on the culture and atmosphere of the nation. As such, the Palatiodora’s Advisors are to act as educated advisors to the Palatiodora so he or she may present the most accurate and appropriate information to the Queen. The Palatiodora’s Advisors are typically former members of the Queen’s Council, Princesses, or Consorts of the Kingdom’s Peers, though the Palatiodora may choose to appoint anyone of high status within the Kingdom. The only individuals to hold a guaranteed position as an Advisor are the Princess Royal, who advises in the interest of the Crown, and the Consort of any Ducal and Comital Peer, should they wish to hold the position. Her Royal Highness, Elena Casimira, Princess Royal of Balian & Countess of Rosemoor THE LESSER COURT The needs of the Andromedan Court frequently extend past that which may be provided by the Queen’s Council. To ensure that these needs are met, a series of lesser-roles have been established to aid in the day-to-day function of the court. These positions, known as ‘lesser court’ positions are managed by the Camareiro. The Camareiro may employ more individuals to the ‘lesser court’ as needed.
