A Recruits Account

 Of The Siege of Stassion

The muster call for the Siege of Stassion came swiftly after the victory at Hippos Gorge, it was at this point we sallied forth to the lands of Stassion. In the long year between the campaigns, we pitched the tents near the Aaunic vassals directly in front of Stassions Keep. Over the months men and women of Haense, Balian, Numendil, Petra, Hyspia, Aaun Norland, and the Dwarves of Urguan. Before long the number of men mustered exceeded twenty thousand souls, the largest Army assembled in the Realms of Aevos. 

 

In the distance, we could see the Orcs of the Iron Horde, Men of Stassion, and Veletz upon the walls readying their defenses for the upcoming Siege of Stassion. All of this seemed for naught upon the day of the battle. Shortly after dawn, the opening salvo of the Coalition's cannons and trebuchets would send stone and metal against the Earthen walls of Stassion. Hour after hour the walls of Stassion would take severe punishment from the Coalition before crumbling down the cliffside towards the River Petra. At this, the King of Haense issued the “CHARGE!” and we jumped from our camp and sallied forth breaching the Throne Room and Courtyard of Stassion. In mere minutes the Battle was over as over ten thousand souls lay dead upon Stassion. Those who survived the initial onslaught in the Keep soon found themselves run down by the Coalition Calvary. It is with a swift and brutal end the short-lived Principality of Stassion came to a Brutal End.

It was to be expected as well, the last victory left the veletzians severely weakened, now one could only imagine how easy the next battle will be?* "Just to sloughter the rest of them and we shall be done." *Mused the elf with a soft smile on his face seeming rather found of the idea of ending this as fast as posible*
