Publius 3666 Popular Post Share Posted February 12 (edited) [!] As one would carry about their business, missives would be handed out through a crier by way of the Meadowlands. Those who would take a copy would read as follows… [!] JORENUS: A REASONABLE DOUBT Spoiler Lo to you, brothers and sisters of the cloth, kinsmen and laymen of Haense and Jorenus. Openly to His Holiness, I wrote a missive on how bewildered I was, and worried my parishioners were about the infiltration of Darkspawn into our covenant, and its investigation. His Holiness revealed in his open missive that he has been given no authority over this investigation. That not even our Church’s own Auditor of the Tribunal has been allowed to investigate this affair. Furthermore, that it is the clergy of Jorenus, those with the most conflicted interest and likelihood of being compromised in this case, who are in charge of this investigation. Why have you refused inquiry from the Tribunal? If you are innocent, then welcome investigation, for it will prove your innocence true. [1] How are you to investigate the conduct of a missing man, and why was the King not reported as missing? He is a leader of our covenant, and his whereabouts should always be accounted for - yet he disappeared the moment the finger of suspicion pointed his way. Why you would not choose to disclose this information to his allies, our Covenant, so that we may help or try to account for him ourselves, is even more suspicious. [2] What suspicious nonsense, that he 'disappeared into thin air'. If a thief 'disappeared into thin air' interacting with a suspicious merchant after being accused of theft, he then returned to your jurisdiction bedraggled after months, is he not still a suspect? Because this is the situation that has happened, basically ver batim, according to the Pontiff. But we are not dealing with an accused thief, we are dealing with a KING of a CANON NATION accused of consorting with a DARKSPAWN! Furthermore, it is after this interaction with this 'artifact merchant' that he is said to have 'lost' his sacred blade. Why do you not address this? How are we to believe your investigations when they are not open to our own Curia for cross reference and scrutiny? Do not pretend that our Auditor of the Tribunal is welcome to 'investigate', as he is not allowed to bring his own commission, to issue arrests, or act independently of Jorenus and its investigation! [3] You are not welcoming him to do his job, but to simply act witness to further absolve yourselves of any responsibility for your fallible conduct. Are we honestly to believe that somehow the integrity of our Church and the sanctity of the Haenseni Crown is a private matter, and not one of fundamental international importance as we carry out a war under its leadership in the name of GOD? This war is now only waged because the people of Winburgh have risen against the Haenseni Crown over these very issues, not the Church. We are not even facing Ser Gaspard, who we had excommunicated for having a vassal that was a Darkspawn. What if it is not just the Crown of Haense that is infiltrated by Darkspawn, but its very Church? And how are we to ever honestly know if it can simply rebuke every measure our Church has for dealing with such crises? These decisions are at best, negligent, naive, and suspicious, and at worst, devious acts of cover up about crimes against our Church. Even a fool knows that both an honest and guilty man will acquit himself for a crime. So do not treat us like fools, because we would still know better than to simply accept your conduct. Allow the Auditor of the Tribunal to conduct his investigation. Haense and Jorenus are not above the Church. Signed, Monk Matsuda Sakuraba ___________________________________ Cited work: Spoiler [1]Sadly however, we were informed that Haense will not be allowing these representatives of the Church to be conducting investigations and resulting actions like arrests in their territory anymore. We were told that members of the Order of Saint Jude have shown undesirable or unsupervised - we have always told members of the Order to work in cooperation with local authorities, which seems to have been ignored here - conduct within Haense, for which reason the Order is now barred from operating within Haeseni territory. We recognize that the timing of these sanctions coinciding with the rumors about King Aleksandr make said sanctions seem very suspicious [2] 'By now we've been informed that King Aleksandr is present again, so it is permissible for us to shed some light on what we were informed of by Patriarch Josef in said private meeting with the Curia. We say the King is present again, because the Patriarch disclosed to the Curia that King Aleksandr was missing and they did not know where he was. He explained that the King had been tricked by fake tradesmen who were supposedly looking to trade in artifacts.' [3] In our meeting with King Aleksandr we will attempt to straighten things out, and, should the reintroduction of operations by the Order of Saint Jude in Haeseni territory be too much to ask for, we shall at least try to get Cardinal Mattia involved again in his role as Auditor. Nooblius 5812 Share Posted February 12 Markus Sarkozic read over the allegations from within Numenost. No other city across Canondom, in his estimation, took so seriously offenses against Church and GOD. This grizzled veteran furthermore maintained a great suspicion of Haense, and suggested to his sons a theory. "Why does the King nor his court speak to his innocence? A claim so wild is easily disputed- but they make niet effort whatsoever. This is wildly against their own interests- and remember, that always a prince is guided by his own interests. There can only be two reasons; that the accusations though wild are largely true, or that the King of Haense thinks so little of the world that he does not believe they are warranted an explanation; that he is due their total trust without advocacy. This latter attitude is what began to spell the doom of Gaspard- I worry for our Ruskan cousins in House Barbanov. They spur scandal against their storied legacy- and for what reason?" The Adrian shook his head as he contemplated such horror. Then he thought of his former kinsmen who had enraged return to Winburgh to fight against Haeseni control of their city. He detested the wars continuation; but could he blame them? He would speak to all Adrian refugees and any he met on the streets of Numenost a similar message;"Pray for the House of Barbanov, and pray for the Men of Midden! May redemption find both by the graces of GOD!"
Beamon4 1648 Share Posted February 12 “All are suppose to be equal beneath GOD, and it is the duty of the Church to make it so. The Pontiff must show the Church still intends to enforce this principle, lest they continue with this charade of negligence.” A grumbling burgher would remark as he suffered through a bout of CONSTIPATION in the privy. Werew0lf 12071 Share Posted February 12 Somewhere in the heavens above, or down under, the ancient Tribunal and Cardinal Stanislaw remembers that he did not require permission to do investigations, and that no priest would will unto him task. He simply investigated, and decimated justice.

Azukazi Khuzai 138 Share Posted February 13 The holy acolyte, the mechneophyte Ivan-I had long been pushing for serious measures after hearing word from his father superior in that chapel of holy purity of haense... It seemed only father Adeptus was the priest who sought to purify the parish there. He signs the holy cross upon the altar of fire and pens another letter of approval to the monk with flaming quill.
