The Badlands in Aegis

Someone may have to have a fulltime job scattering ores in the mines lol, I'm not sure if just once a week would cut it since it's an an "extremely rich mine" - which compared to the ones we get with permits, would have to have new ores thrown in each day if some people are going there mainly to get what's in the mines. Just 5-10 people alone could strip a large 500x500 mine in one day, even if they have to fight to do it and I'm sure a lot more will be there fighting over it than that.

Wow, Native you're very patient to answer all his question O-O

We'll be prepared to see alot of people RIGHT at the edge of the badlands region, and the warfare will proceed from there too, towns will sprout there, cities, forts, basically the hotspot of aegis.

Are you fine with that, Native?

I think people would find it very difficult to mine if there are people always waiting to kill them while they do it. It would be a get in dig for a few min go store stuff sort of method.

Conceptually, I'm against the idea. Badlands seem a 'minigame' of a sort, and no matter how thick you make the accompanying lore it will be treated as such. Unbound PvP is just a messy affair, and a lot of grief and rule-breaking will probably stem from the area (most prominently, the rule about 30 minutes memory wipe after death.)

However, the badlands seem to fill a big gap in player demand. Maybe the area will serve to divert that certain class of player and stop them from using the rest of Aegis in these undesired ways. It may not be pretty, but it might be necessary.

Besides, I should give the mod team credit in being able to set some straight rules for the mechanics. I'm sure they're up for proper regulating of the area once it's in use. I still have a feeling the area will become a new pet peeve of mine, but I'll survive.

It is a no rules place, key words "no rules"

With this new realm, "The End" being developed, what if the badlands concept was simply worked into The End? Or perhaps even the Nether, assuming Undead are phased out. With all of these new mobs and drops, The End and The Nether will need to be implemented and made accessible somehow.

Enderdragons would be large trophy-kills which would require a party to kill and drop valuable loot. Rather than fighting over mining rights, players would fight over secure access to these hunting grounds. The central keep would be a stronghold which held the portal. The portal would need to be fought over and claimed, then guarded, or all hell would break loose inside.

Just a thought.

I highly doubt there will be enderdragons on this server. Also really dont know if they would be a good idea...lag. Jeez it would be like constant tnt going off.
