Penned by the Office of the Emissar

12th of Jula ag Piov, 518 E.S.

For centuries, the Office of the Emissary has proven to be a pivotal office within the government of the Dual Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. As the center for the nation's diplomacy and foreign affairs, the Office of the Emissary, and the Envoy position before that, has ensured the nation’s key place within the global stage and continuously develops relationships between the Kingdom of Haense and its allies.

OFFICE STRUCTURE

Lord Emissar

At the head of operations is the Lord Emissar, entrusted with cultivating relations with foreign allies, old and new. Reporting directly to the Monarch, the Lord Emissar oversees all diplomats and workers within the office and ensures that progress and divies out important works such as pacts or treaties that are thus proposed to foreign nations. They are considered the representative of the King’s will in diplomatic affairs.

Vice-Emissary

Set directly beneath the Lord Emissar is the Vice-Emissar, entrusted by the Royal Emissar to conduct foreign diplomacy in their place when needed while also overseeing the routine ongoings of the diplomats below them. Known as the Lord Emissar’s right hand, the Vice-Emmisar handles all important tasks the Lord Emissar needs doing while they are otherwise occupied with a matter at hand.

Diplomat

Within the Office of the Emissar, Diplomats are workers who have been assigned to a particular nation and serve as the face of the Kingdom of Haense. Ensuring positive relations between the two nations, the Diplomat’s key job is to maintain a positive presence in order to be able to report back to the Lord Emissar on matters of national security or to be at the ready should a new alliance be requested from either nation. Diplomats are expected to visit their assigned nation frequently and put meaning to what an international friendship is meant to represent.

Ward/Apprentice

Young children and those interested in getting involved within the Office of the Emissar but are not of appropriate age for diplomacy responsibilities are encouraged to seek out a Wardship or Apprenticeship within the office as to gain an early advantage of understanding the functions of international politics and foreign relations. Tasks such as assisting in drafting of treaties or taking notes for the Lord Emissar in meetings of diplomatic importance are just a small insight to what one may learn at a young age within the Office of the Emissar.

With the closing throes of a conflict long-brewing and a war hard-fought and bloody, the Duke and Lord Emissary, Viktor var Ruthern, has decided it is time to recruit a new, younger cadre of men and women who may take his place. With every passing year, it becomes more evident that it is time to introduce fresh blood to the office who might approach the Kingdom’s foreign matters with zeal. Should any interested citizen of the Kingdom of Haense find themselves wishing to apply, they need only send a bird to the Lord Emissary to set up a meeting to begin their new experience in the Office of the Emissar.

Signed,

His Excellency, Viktor ‘Daemonsteel’ var Ruthern

Lord Emissary of Hanseti-Ruska, Duke of Vidaus, Count of Metterden, Viscount of Greyspine, Baron of Rostig, Lord of Morteskvan, Lord of Barrows, Patriarch of All-Ruthern and Protector of the South.
