Mickaelhz 3832 Popular Post Share Posted April 25 SINGLE FILE A show of competency As powers in this world rise and fall like waves on a windy day, some things never change. Castles made of sand always crumble, like snow always melts under the bright morning sun. The hungry farmer kills his favorite lamb, just to have something to eat. The realms of men, who have excess food, nibble away at themselves due to the hunger for power instead. Like rats climbing on top of each other to reach an aromatic chunk of cheese that’s too far up, so too will the realms of men trample each other so one of them may reach the prize; the illusion of power. On their way to the top they feed others lies of their might, like peacocks they show off their beautiful feathers but they will never be able to fly. A recent example of this is the formation of the Heartland confederation. A conglomeration of what used to be Petra and Aaun, yet one might point out that they were no different at all to begin with. They both only hold weight on paper, as does their union. No matter how mighty you are in writing, your cities are empty and your armies are made to look pretty rather than protect your people. There is proof of this. The Ferrymen attended the formal founding of their mighty joint military. Two of the greatest powers of this world banding together to make a force strong enough to protect their newfound confederation - or that’s what we expected. Yet what we found instead was nothing but a decorative marching band. They were cut down as swiftly as the first harvest of grains after a winter of famine. The new leader of theirs was captured and given to a band of goblins, where he may continue to serve as their personal entertainer. [!] The LORD MARSHAL of the Heartland Confederacy in the possession of a band of goblins. We hope that the Heartland Confederation is grateful for this message of ours. We tested the man who leads the armies of your two major powers. He failed, maybe someone who can keep your people safe may be chosen, and he will be tested too, until Breakwater is paid for. We know that you thought you rid this world of the Ferrymen. Do not stand by our grave, and weep. We are not there, we do not sleep. We know of your fantasies and we’re eagerly awaiting your next move. Cross the river, The Ferryman
Javert 5594 Share Posted April 25 "LETS GOOOO!" said an ancient Myrinian citizen named Rolf the Peasant, who was far too old to even do anything to support the Ferrymen. Even so, he turned to his great-grandson and thusly said: "You see these folk, Rolf the Third? You ought to be like them." The centurion then promptly died in his sleep, content to know his old friends were doing their proper business once more.

sam33497 2831 Share Posted April 25 FERRYMAN JOHNSON celebrated his promotion by incinerating many heartlanders, some of whom had actually been the ones who had killed him when he wasn't a rotting corpse, but he didn't remember that. He tripped on a rock and fell, patting his ally Lyulen on the back as he was aided to his feet.

sapphic_spidy 155 Share Posted April 26 Once Sydney finds out about this, he'll prepare to steal 700+ pieces of bread from the Ferrymen. Again.
