John Valentinus of Enswerp held a leather ball in his hand that was just about the size of his palm. He’d toss it up into the air, over and over, until it firmly landed back into his grasp. "They believe me a boy, one that loves to play trivial games. One that is all talk and no bite." A smirk of amusement revisited his face when he glanced towards the missive. It was nailed to his desk with a knife that was sharper than slander & words. "If they wish for me to put on the facade of a villain, then so be it."

A sputtering on tea would break the silence in Theodore Elwood's home as he read his own name among the second paragraph. After wiping some dribble off himself, the Deputy Speaker would read much more closely, with a loonng, drawn-out sip for each new section of the letter. Once done, he'd lean back in his chair while the adrenaline began to fade. Finally, he'd speak aloud to himself to get through his own feelings and thoughts.

"I'd not known that our Chancellor was set to wed one of Friedrich's kin...." he'd say as he looks back over the writing. "How could one not see a block forming in this society? Whether or not it holds such an insidious nature is to be seen, but...." he'd stop himself to take another long sip of his tea, slurping as it comes to an end. "Queen Adalia has already proven herself once with a vehement decree against pugnacious plotters. I'm sure that if anymore whisperers were to bring trouble to our Confederation, she will bring about order. Just as her predecessors have before her." he'd say while looking out the window toward Vallagne.

"And I, too, shall do my part to keep things orderly." he'd mutter before writing a series of letters to certain members of local government.

Wilhelm Theodosius von Wittenbach, the former Lord Marshal read the missive with a scoff as he sat at his desk.

"I wouldn't be surprised." He said to himself rather simply, continuing on his tiny rant.

"The Aaun side of this merge seems to constantly push and shove. Especially with the war nonsense. If it were up to me, I'd split this merger, give them their one hundred pieces of leather and tell them to start trifling in war."

He sighed. "Oh wait, They wouldn't, because they couldn't, because the entire warchest is all gathered by Petrans. This is why I retired, feels like a bunch of vultures swooping in to take their chance when they haven't worked on the kill itself, or perhaps that annoying child that throws rocks in the pond right where you're fishing, I think that's a better comparison. Since all of these warmongers are so... persistently annoying."

A smile then arose on his face, as he drew out a long breath of air. "Aaah-" he leaned back, putting his hands behind his head. "So glad these aren't my problems anymore!"

The aforementioned Count of Hohengarten growled as he read the gossip column, his one hand then crumpled the paper. "Savage Lies!" He bawled, then quickly calmed himself by signing the Lorraine. "Ich shall see zhese gossiping shrews to court." - "Incitement und defamation." He grumbled to himself. "Ich shall pray zheir immortal souls are released by zhe Iblees of gossip zhat plagues zhem."

Friedrich thereafter went to his chapel for prayers, many long prayers ...

The Former Prince Aurelius reads over the missive and shrugs. "Why do they still make sure that people know who is a Petra Vassal and who isn't? My homeland will cease to exist along with our family name soon enough anyway. Seems pointless to keep this up." He commented over a cup of tea.
