SECTION VIII

EPISTLE TO THE HEARTLANDS

 

O’ sons and daughters of the Heartlands, which I have known since my very youth, and loved to this day. I tended to the flock East and West of the Langkette since the reign of the young King Edmund, in peace shall he rest. I tended for them still under John the First, the Pious, and Catherine the First, in the Confederacy, my soul rekindled by the cooperation of my peoples.

 

Now my heart aches at the tensions that fracture my kin, the future of their livelihoods hanged by a thread of divine Providence, guiding us still toward the promise of Paradise. As per my Pontifical Office, I beckon the flock thus, and decree the following;

 

I. The Holy Mother Church, in Her eternal mission for peace, requests direct mediated dialogue between His Majesty, King Charles the Second, and Her Majesty, Queen Adalia the First, and Adrian of Valfleur. The Church shall hold this dialogue in the confines of the Pontifical Residence, wherein the invitees only the officially standing councils and advisors of Aaun and the Petra - as well as Adrian himself - are allowed attendance.
 

II. The Order of Saint Jude, the Order of the White Comet and the Frei Walden Kompanie shall guard, and continue to guard, the canonist faithful, the clergy, and the temples of the Confederation. As well, they shall be the security detail for the Monarchs and the Pontiff during the aforementioned meeting.
 

III. The levies of the Heartlands - be it Petran, Aaunic, Dragoons of Marna, Petran Revolutionaries, or any association of similar militant nature, are asked to ceasefire in the midst of this dialogue, and shan’t be allowed in the vicinity of the Apostolic City unless expressly permitted by Pontifical decree.

 

IV. No foreign canonist realm, mercenary, volunteer, or peacekeeping organization - unless acting under express Pontifical permission - shall be allowed to interfere in the conflict in any military capacity. If any Canonist Prince aside from the monarchs of the Heartlander Confederation infrict on this decree, SPIRITUAL EXCOMMUNICATION shall be incurred FERENDAE SENTENTIAE through Pontifical decree.

 

V. Notwithstanding such, if any mercenary organization interferes on behalf of either faction, then the embargo on foreign intervention from the Canonist Princes shall be lifted, permitting operations. They shall still have to request Pontifical permission, though the requirements shall be laxer and straightforward.

EPISTLE TO THE VAN AERTS

 

O’ Tiberias van Aert, and your ilk, heed my words, and know they are true. As per ‘To Veletz’ by the Office of the Auditor, under Stanislaw Cardinal Westerwald, members of the van Aert family not expressly mentioned in this document HAVE NOT incurred SPIRITUAL EXCOMMUNICATION, and thus still in Holy Communion with the Mother Church.

As outlined above, the Blackvale Vrijkorps - as all other Canonist Realms and militant organizations, being foreign to the Heartlands - are subject to our decree also, and thus must follow the Mother Church’s request of non-intervention, and failure to comply shall subject your organization and those who attempt to employ or recruit your corps with penalties. 

 

We heed your interest in peacekeeping, but any operations of the sort are on hold until We can properly host the mediated meeting, and being performed by a realm in the Church’s trust, one the Blackvale Vrijkorps have not had the opportunity to earn yet.

MARITAL DISSOLUTION

 

It has been made known to Our Holy See that the matrimonial union between Tatiyana vas Ruthern and Lorcàn O’Rouke has found irreconcilable differences, it is the duty of Our Church Supreme to uphold the continued sanctity and well-being of healthy marriage.

 

It is thus that We, by the powers vested in Our most sacred office by the Laurel derived from the Exalted, that we do hereby DISSOLVE the marital bond of Tatiyana and Lorcàn’s union, tearing their souls from the other on the Path to Eternal Virtue. 

 

Children produced by this union shall be considered legitimate, and to be cared for by the mother, and each party shall have to seek the personal consent of the High Pontiff should they decide to remarry. This decision is not taken unadvisedly or wantonly, but with due consideration to the continued spiritual welfare of the parties involved.
