The Inquisitors of Tahariae

He is the current regent-guardian of the First Immaculate Tower of Tahariae, commanding His divine host from its grand precipice.

 

Origin

The light of Tahariae returned to the world in the Stagfall. Severing it from himself so he may gain revelations of mortal experiences, it is said to have birthed a divinely purified man by name of Ea-ir-Ahat who had been born bearing the cursed blood of the forsaken primitives that were the first to find the stag’s remains. There are those across the world who had received visions of the Stagfall, unaware that the Lord of Purity’s grand plan was being disrupted by a confederation of four-cursed mortal tribals. 

 

In truth, the divine stag was never dead upon its fall, but dormant; and the emergence of the mortal saint that would birth the flame of purity was merely a delay that served to deliver an understanding of mortal experience back to Tahariae’s revelatory mind. The flame itself, is the Stag of Tahariae, the burning figment of his compassion kept alive within rings, within braziers, within towers, within men.

 

These primitives were known as the Amalekites, and their king, Amalek. Descendant creatures whose lost history resulted in their specie harboring all of Iblees’ ancient curses, they were perhaps the most corrupt mortal figments in existence. But Ea-ir-Ahat, who was born from the divine stag’s remains when the tribals sacrificed their unborn heir, stood in vast contrast to those whom he would call his brethren. They regarded him as their purified messiah, but did not know his secret - that Ea-ir-Ahat was Tahariae’s mortal incarnation, alive only because of these circumstances, and unaware of his own true purpose. The divine mind slept within him as a subconscious.

 

An ancient Elf by name of Elam-Ilir who survived his thousand year madness rallied all those who would constitute the Roundtable of Tahariae, leading them to the mountain where the stag struck like a meteor. In that place, the interloping primitives were slain in their blood without remedy, and their shallow graves were hidden by the shadow cast by the first Immaculate Tower. With Ea-ir-Ahat having been sacrificed in unclear circumstances to give birth to the purifying flame of Tahariae, the Elamite crusaders reclaimed their lord’s power through the Lambent Rings forged by their wise and long-lived leader. They would never know that it was Ea-ir-Ahat who destroyed himself rather than being murdered, desperate to claw out a flame of purity that could mend the Godforsaken condition of his kin.

 

It was from the martyr’s gray flame that Elam-Ilir heeded the voice of his long absent lord, freshly awoken from the revelatory nightmare that was his brief mortal life. Knowing finally what must be done, he beseeched thousand-year Elam to propagate this flame, to scorn both divine interlopers and abyssally cursed men, and most of all, to break these curses that bind them.

 

Across the mortal plane Elam scattered his militant faithful, his ring-bearers, ushering them forth on a quest to erect more towers, to kindle more flame, to bring forth a power that would suppress the dark and cast out the light and banish indiscriminately any unbelonging force that sought to root itself in men, in their world. They would be styled Inquisitors, the belligerent yet compassionate successors to the clement Clerics of a past age.

The Revelations Of Purity

The Revelations of Purity are the pinnacle of Tahariae’s understanding of pure mortal and worldly existence, and gaining this insight was the necessity for his discovery and mastery of the Flame of Purity. In order to gain this insight, he supped upon the gentle fog of the realm of Lyes, the only way to clear his mind while suffering the terrible loss brought by the violent death of Xan. He saw the truth in his dreams, recalling the condition of Creation in the days of his Aengulic infancy.

 

It is interpreted as a form of divine legalism; divine in the sense that it is closest to the original image of the Creator’s designs intended for the Descendants and their world, rather than just the Aengul’s personal interpretations.

 

In the revelations, Tahariae realized that Descendantkind had only ever been pure before the attainment of their curses, and that the Four Curses acted as an evil precedent that guided mortals toward becoming host to alien or corrupt influences. The Flame of Tahariae he gives them without connection is so fervent in the opposition of these wrongful powers, both light and dark, that it gnaws upon the Four Curses within mortal Inquisitors, even if it is not strong enough to destroy them. 

 

This means the Flame of Tahariae opposes all other influences imposed upon the Descendants and the world indiscriminately, and that Tahariae could even burn himself and his divine kin with it in his grasp, warranting fears of his judgment across all stars, all gods, all men, all monstrosities.

• The concepts illuminated by the Revelations of Purity are considered common and innate knowledge for initiated Inquisitors who are brought into the fold with this concept of Tahariae’s Mission. Culturally speaking Inquisitors may derive whatever form of covenants and creeds they wish so long as it is believed to be in line with Tahariae’s vision. 

 

Overview and Initiation

The world is rife with divine embellishments, dark treacheries and gray half-truths in between. “Sunlit Equilibrium will come”, “Xion will prevail”, “The Curses will take us”, “The Curses will be broken”, “We are by the fire forsaken”, “The wheel turns.” It is in this haze of falsehoods that the first step in enshrining an Inquisitor begins through banishment by Tahariae’s purifying flame, the incarnation of his revelatory will. 

 

Initiation to Tahariae’s covenant begins with the Inquisitor-to-be brought before an Immaculate Brazier, a receptacle of Tahariaean Flame, to kneel and speak their prayers and pledges before their very soul is subject to a judgement-by-fire. In a tenuous process a small fragment of the Flame is chipped as it is loosed before them like embers to a tinderbox, instantly bursting into an inferno that entirely consumes their being yet leaves them physically untouched. The soul experiences excruciating pain as it is cleansed of all doubts, weaknesses, ailments and maladies to achieve a fleeting moment of divine clarity on the ways of the world as they are bestowed his Revelations of Purity. The way in which this trial and godsent sobriety manifests varies for every character and it is definitive in their interpretation of Tahariae’s purity that will come to guide their duty. 

 

Feeding off of the innate mortal darkness and Iblaeic curse within the initiate as fuel the fire becomes spiritually entangled and subsequently weaved into physical form as a “lambent ring”, the symbol of a newfound Inquisitor’s devotion to the Lord of Purity and Justice. 

 

Tahariae’s puritan legalism and zeal means that to be eligible for this initiation is to possess a greater soul untampered by any deific or dark influences. Those formerly of this nature may experience a more protracted and extended cleansing in their initiation as they are forcefully scrubbed of any remnant influences of their past vices. 

 

An Inquisitor’s progression hinges principally on the nurturing of their soulbound Tahariaean flame seated within their Lambent Ring. As they undergo trials and overcome tribulations in purity’s name, their flame grows in strength as they do in mastery. Likewise does the flame’s influence upon the Inquisitor also develop; what may have been doubts upon Tahariae’s divine cause will be entirely erased by the end of their progression, traits such as compassion or dogmatism may be magnified, and so forth. Once an Inquisitor’s lambent flame has reached its pinnacle state at T5 in what is known as “Apotheosis”, they become eligible for a TA.

• [Tahariaean Lambence] is a [3] slot holy-deific magic that requires an [MA] to use. TAs are attained at T5 when an Inquisitor is endowed their purity-fire and the rites of Illumination and Abolition.
• Connection to Tahariaean Lambence must be performed at an Immaculate Brazier through the Rite of Illumination by a [T5] Inquisitor possessing a TA.
• As Tahariaean Lambence is a holy magic it is incompatible with any other deific, dark or voidal connections. Seer is the only exception to this rule. 
• Compatible magics include miscellaneous magics like bardmancy, kani and housemagery, and feats such as Arcane Displacement, Animii Crafting, Golemancy, and so forth.
• Only those possessing a greater soul devoid of any deific, voidal or dark influences are eligible for this magic.
• Like any other deific magic Lambence follows the two-strike rule for disconnections and reconnections, however the magic becomes permanently inaccessible to those that acquire any other incompatible connections afterwards, even if they are dropped again.

 

Abolition

When an Inquisitor has lost their way and is deemed despicable and astray from Tahariae’s revelatory will shall the Rite of Abolition be considered to forfeit them of their endowed duty. Performing the Rite of Abolition requires [2] Inquisitors of Tier [5] and a [TA], where the condemned Inquisitor is to be subjugated, willingly or otherwise, and brought to the Immaculate Tower of Tahariae where they are brought to a kneel before its Immaculate Flame. In a gruelling process of severance their ring is forcefully confiscated by the presiding Inquisitors who will cast it into the fire, inflicting a terrible burning sensation upon their being as if being burnt at a pyre, their coveted radiance gradually leaving their body until they are fully stripped of their mandate. 

 

Inquisitors who have been forfeited of their flame experience minor symptoms of Doom Sickness as specified in “The Inquisitorial Condition”, where a permanent scarring manifests upon their chest-area as an after-effect of the Curse of Iblees becoming momentarily unbridled and winning out over the flame which has left their being. A great burdening mood may loom over the abolished Inquisitor who is now deprived of their purity, and many who have suffered this fate seek to either repent or replace their treasured crutch.

• Abolition is the ritual mechanism for Inquisitorial disconnection, and is chaos-dc by nature meaning it is not bound by any lore-enforced tenets. The ritual does not require OOC consent however any form of metagaming, OOC-politicking or just any dishonest RP conducted which leads up to this will be punished by Lore Enforcement.
• Abolition requires conflict involving subjugation of the target Inquisitor willingly or otherwise OUTSIDE of an Immaculate Tower so they may be brought to it for the ritual proper. The ritual requires [3] uninterrupted emotes at a minimum. 
• Inquisitors experience the minor T1-T3 effects of Doom Sickness after Abolition, which involves physical scarring on the chest area and significant mental distress from losing their divine crutch. 
• Abolition takes off one strike from the two-strike deific connection/disconnection rule, and should the Inquisitor take up any magic of the Condemned and Doomed they will be ineligible to become an Inquisitor again.

The Inquisitorial Condition

 

Ringbound: Lambent rings are soulbound, and the minute fragment of Tahariaean Flame it contains acts as a conduit of His power, ergo the use of Inquisitor magic and their progression is entirely contingent on its presence. An Inquisitor must have their ring worn upon a hand at all times. This entails an extended weakness for Inquisitors in the form of their forearm which becomes the primary casting-source of their magic, and any Voidal spells that deliberately and directly hit this forearm will instantly disrupt Inquisitor casting and disconnect them from their magic for 2 emotes. Armor does not negate the concussive effects of Voidal spells which will have the same effect. Antimagic such as null arcana and thanhium also work as usual on Inquisitors anywhere and may disrupt their casting.

 

Immaculate Duress: A consequence of Tahariae’s vindictive connection, the Inquisitor’s physicality is furthermore reduced to peak-human strength for all races, and any armor above medium-tier will render them unable to effectively use their holy magic. This drawback comes in exchange for Inquisitors possessing a persisting form of connection that will only be broken from extreme sources of pain or forceful severance from the ring, the latter of which leads to far greater consequences.

 

Sovereignty: In the wake of his revelations Tahariae believes solely in mortals obeying mortal laws and ultimately does not wish to interfere in the natural order of things; he respects the self-determination of descendantkind. It is for this reason that Lambence and by extension an Inquisitor’s connection to Tahariae possesses a physical form as a lambent ring, creating the possibility of Inquisitors perishing without bearing a ring to being condemned to a mundane afterlife. 

 

Prerogative: The primary soulful boon of harboring Tahariae’s lambent flame for an Inquisitor is the courage and resolution they are bequeathed. Steadfast in their duties an Inquisitor feels a great partiality for the ways of purity, and may develop a great loathing for cyclical prophecies and wayward beings to mirror their Lord. Physiologically, the purifying flame bound to their soul endows them with the courage and zeal needed to fulfill their duties, rendering them fully exempt from the fear-based spells of their foes upon reaching [T5]. These swayings are only compelled further in the midst of conflicts as the Inquisitor constantly draws upon their flame’s light and shadow, entailing amoral and dogmatic behaviors potentially unbefitting of their usual selves. 

 

Inquisition: As brothers and sisters in arms Inquisitors are considered “Errant” by their magic amongst themselves and are fully spared from any form of friendly-fire harm by their lambent flame. Inquisitors are naturally skeptical of other Gods but despite their position as “Condemned” on the Sacre Induiactum they are not hostile by default. Tahariae comprehends the direness of the daemonic and dark threats and as he already has for millennia is willing to tolerate mutual cooperation with other Patrons against a common foe.

 

Infallibility: Beyond the fear-resistance boon bestowed upon them by their Prerogative, the growing lambent flame within their Rings grant Inquisitors a scaling form of curse resistance where any form of dark, daemonic or divine malady is wrested by the immaculate flame they harbor and eventually snuffed out. The curse is caught in an inner crossfire within the Inquisitor, essentially unable to survive and remain active between the conflict waged by the Lambent Ring and Iblees’ Curse. Consequently, curses wardened by the Inquisitor manifest minimally on the surface but may exert minor mental duress upon the Inquisitor like a bugging itch. Curses of this kind include necromantic plagues, mysticism hexes, naztherak malices, corcitura, sycophants, and so forth and encompasses anything that internally afflicts an individual. 

 

Curse Resistance scales with the Inquisitor's tier, forcing each sustained curse to fall into a duration of effect before passively fading. For combative curses halved-severity translates to halved-duration or reduced to [2] emotes (whichever is shorter) for mechanical purposes, while non-combative curses have half-severity in all aspects and may be interpreted as appropriate. 

 

T1: 4 weeks to fade on its own

T2: 3 weeks to fade on its own

T3: halved severity, 2 weeks to fade

T4: halved severity, 1 week to fade

T5: halved severity, 1 day to fade

 

Upon reaching Tier 3 an Inquisitor may be able to inherit and transfer the burden of curses experienced by others on themselves with OOC consent, allowing them to extract a magical curse or affliction from the subject’s soul and/or body to fuse it to themselves. At any given time an Inquisitor may only ever harbor the same amount of player character curses equal to their tier level (T1 can harbor 1 curse, T2 means 2 curses, etc.), and if this limit is surpassed they experience all curses equivalently and must dispense their collection at a Brazier of Purity within the same 24-hour day. Braziers of Purity may cleanse an Inquisitor of their curse even if this limit is not reached yet. 

 

The nature of this curse-transference may be combative and non-combative and involves the Inquisitor alighting their Ring to use it as a conduit for taking up and consuming the curse afflicting another person over [2] uninterrupted channeling emotes.

 

DOOM SICKNESS: Also dubbed “Amalek’s Ill” in the past, doom sickness is a progressive condition that develops within the Inquisitor as their mastery over their flame grows. As the flame is stoked and strengthened, the aggression against the Curse of Iblees and vice versa intensifies and rouses it from its dormant state. This agitation becomes fury when an Inquisitor reaches [T5], where to remove their Lambent Rings from their hand means depriving them of the only power capable of containing their roaring curse, beginning the onset of Doom Sickness - the forgotten incarnation of Iblees’ Ruin. 

 

The symptoms of Doom Sickness become immediately clear as the very form of the Inquisitor begins to crack and dry, their senses begin to haze and their acuity dulls, hair loses luster and grays and their heart beats painfully as the body is plunged into distress. This condition is not fatal in itself as an Inquisitor may summon their ring back over [2] emotes as soon as a [16] meter vicinity is reached with it with line of sight being maintained, but for as long as they are separated from it their weakness may be used against them, especially in conflict.

 

But for those who are disconnected and cast out from the march of Tahariae, those deprived of their blessed Lambent Rings, will know to fear the consequences of defying the Daemon of Ruin’s curses, as they will no longer have the purifying flame to keep their frenzied curses contained. These exiles are known to develop strange and macabre scarring upon their chest and over their heart, the result of the body continually attempting to mend the slow destruction of their central organ. 

 

Doom Sickness manifests as the following mechanical effects:

 

T1-T3: Non-disruptive physical and mental effects; loss of magical use from ring inaccessibility; minor bodily degrading aesthetic changes. The Inquisitor may experience a hazing of their focus and a restless mind, though nothing debilitating.

 

T4-T5: Combat disruptive physical and mental effects; loss of magical use from ring inaccessibility; major bodily degradation aesthetic changes as skin becomes ashen, parched and flakey. The Inquisitor experiences an almost manic compulsion to reclaim their ring for some semblance of relief almost to the point of fixation. This mental effect triggers immediately upon ring loss, only growing in severity over 2 emotes after which they are fully and utterly unable to carry out any action unrelated to reclaiming their ring. Their strength continuously deteriorates until reaching a void-mage equivalent after 3 emotes.

• Lambent Rings are ST-signed items considered mechanically soulbound as they are artefacts irrevocably tied to the Inquisitor. Although they can never permanently be lost, lambent rings may still be taken from an Inquisitor temporarily in combative or capture scenarios to provoke their Achilles’ Heel; Doom Sickness.
• As the forearm becomes the primary casting source as per the Lambent Ring, any direct forms of antimagic directly striking flesh or voidal spells striking the region deliberately and directly will cause the Inquisitor to be disconnected from their magic for 2 emotes.
• All Inquisitors, regardless of race, are capped at peak-human strength and may only cast should they be wearing medium-tier armor.
• Inquisitor connections are greatly empowered relative to voidal connections; they may only be disconnected through inflicting major or mortal wounds and excruciating sources of pain.
• Inquisitor connections are contingent on the presence of their Lambent Ring, and their souls are only able to draw upon Tahariae’s holy magic should the ring be worn. - In the unfortunate case where an Inquisitor loses their ring-bearing arm they will be unable to draw upon their magic until either the ringbearing arm is replaced via prosthetic or they begin using their other arm instead.
• Another consequence of the Lambent Ring contingence is the possibility of Inquisitors to achieve a normal afterlife should they perish and PK without bearing the ring.
• The purifying influence of Tahariaean flame bestows all Inquisitors with a passive courageousness and clarity that negates any form of fear-inducing spells casted upon them by dark or deific adversaries once they reach [T4].
• Infallibility grants Inquisitors innate curse resistance and grants them the ability to take up the same amount of curses as their tier from others. This does NOT translate to curse IMMUNITY, and only makes curses manageable for an Inquisitor to bear with. 
• Doom Sickness is a longer-term consequence of ring loss and is particularly potent for higher tier Inquisitors, who immediately experience debilitating and manic compulsions to reclaim their ring. Mental effects deteriorate to the point of the Inquisitor becoming unable to make any action unrelated to reclaiming their ring after 2 emotes, while their physicality deteriorates to void-mage equivalent after 3 emotes. Aesthetic changes may manifest differently for every Inquisitor.
• Inquisitors may resummon their ring over [2] emotes as soon as a [16] meter vicinity is reached within it amd line of sight is maintained.
• The T1-T3 physical effects of Doom Sickness manifest permanently for Inquisitors that have become disconnected from the magic. Should they become an Inquisitor again, these effects are reversed by the ring.

SACRE INDUICATUM; Tahariae’s Gilded Justice

 

Codified within reams of alabaster-gilded annals of the Gilded Court is a tripartite system of guilt drawn from them that are directly applicable for the magical effects of Tahariae’s light, called lambence henceforth, and flame. Tahariae espouses equal-measured adjudication as part of his newfound legalism, and this manifests in His magic in the form of three categories of guilt often entailing equal-measured severity. These classifications are exclusively for spell-mechanics reference and do not grant Inquisitors any innate roleplay knowledge of the subjects, their nature or even the reason for their systemic condemnations.

 

The three tiers of codified “guilt” are as follows:

 

• THE ERRANT: Also known as the Grays in His late brother’s scriptures, the errants are victims of worldly circumstance; descendants. Their blood is untapped and their soul is untampered and thus they are eligible for proper use of the magic. The definition of Errant also includes other unfortunately-accursed beings such as the Cursed Children of Ixris, Barrowborn, Kharajyr, and so forth. Errants may not be harmed by Inquisitor magic unless marked by a Rite of Indictment.
  • NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST: Descendants, Barrowborn, Kharajyr, Epiphytes, Sycophants, Sorvians, etc.

 

• THE CONDEMNED: Mortals complicit in deific and dark associations and the propagation Iblees’ Curse, the condemned are those who are spiritually or physically compromised in other to use their magicks and may be harmed by Tahariae’s Lambence. Unless stripped of their powers willingly or otherwise they cannot be embraced as new converts or Inquisitors. Errants directly collaborating with Condemned in conflict are also scorned and considered one of their kind.
  • NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST: Necromancers, Mystics, Cursed Children, Naztherak, Corcitura, Druids, Blood-Mages, Templars, Shamans, Heralds, Haruspex, etc.

 

• THE DOOMED: Architects of mortal ruin. These are Descendant characters that have undergone some form of metanoia, in other words CAs and those transformed into CAs. Every entity that can specifically be transformed from an original Descendant character is counted and may not learn the magic at all and are burned by Lambence. 
  • NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST: Liches, Wights, Eidolas, Ghosts, Darkstalkers, Treelords, Itharels, Inferi, Zar’akal, Siliti, Darkstalkers, Ghouls, Azdrazi, etc.

 

Voidborn creatures and soulless constructs the likes of Atronachs, Voidal Horrors, Golems and Klones are anomalously exempt from the Sacre Induiactum, for Tahariae’s judgement only concerns itself with worldly mechanisms. They are both technically classified as “Errant” and require Wreathing Indictment to cast upon them in combative scenarios to be Condemned and affected, but even this has its limitations. Voidborn creatures like atronachs and horrors are considered naturalborn in the vast calculus of the cosmos and as they are directly in opposition and antithetical to creation are fully immune to all forms of lesser Inquisitor magic below [T4]. Soulless constructs the likes of Golems, Klones and Animatii lack souls to be judged but are still worldly so upon being marked may be affected by all tiers of Inquisitor magic. All forms of Puritan Judgement are inapplicable to both. 

 

Redlines

• The effects of Condemned and Doomed only apply when their true nature is revealed, meaning Inquisitor magic may NOT be used for testing or metagaming. The same mechanics for revealed darkspawn applies here, i.e. a darkspawn or holy mage is considered “revealed” when they begin using their magic or outwardly manifest their power in any way.
• Inquisitors do NOT have innate knowledge of the nature or circumstances of any of the magics and CAs listed above and have to be found out IRPly; for instance becoming an Inquisitor does not grant them knowledge of warlocks being “Naztherak”, only the vague idea that being a warlock would make them one of the Condemned. 
• Voidal and soulless creatures are considered “Errant” by default and have to be marked by Wreathing Indictment in combative scenarios to even be affected. Voidal creatures are immune to any Inquisitor spell below [T4] and bypasses Inquisitor curse resistance. Soulless creatures may be affected by any Inquisitor spell once marked. Neither can be subject to Puritan Judgements.
• In the case where an individual is both an "Errant" and a "Condemned" or "Doomed" such as dark-mages who possess Klones, the higher tier of guilt takes precedence in spell effect.

Tahariaean Flame and its Lambence

• The Lambence of Tahariae is His purifying influence, a shadow vestigial of His erstwhile benevolence. Being the favored instrument of the Clerics of old and now Inquisitors, Lambence makes up the bulk of Inquisitor magic and is manifested from their Ring. At a baseline Lambence has minor restorative properties that are soothing at best, able to bring a semblance of resting peace to Errants in suffering. To the Condemned or the Doomed spells weaved using Lambence possess a burning sensation, akin to first degree burns for the former and second-degree burns for the latter.

 

• Notably, Lambence is the light and shadow of the Tahariaean flame bound to an Inquisitor and their Ring, a feeble fragment of Tahariae’s effulgent blaze. As it lies in a tenuous equilibrium with an Inquisitor’s mortal darkness and innate Iblaeic curse, it manifests as a pale-gray hue to reflect this condition. Lambence is naturally radiant and has the ability to cut through any forms of unnatural darkness or obscurity imposed by the Condemned and the Doomed. This component of Tahariaean Flame may be freely weaved outside of combat for aesthetic and storytelling purposes. 

 

• The Flame of Tahariae, once called the “Flames of Reckoning”, is now his revelatory ideals incarnate, his divine instrument and will; the manifestation of his rhapsodic purity and blind justice. Rarely drawn upon in its direct form as “Immaculate Invocation” by desperate Inquisitors and only used for ritualistic purposes, Tahariaean flame is excruciatingly painful to any and all entities that face its ire. His decree is purity indiscriminate, and the cleansing that it performs is akin to wiping of the slate and a forceful reversion of all things deific and dark to natural order. 

 

• Flame is the very stuff of Tahariae’s purity and thus manifests immaculately. It is a peerless shade of white and burns inflicted by its embrace are instead replaced by silvery-ashen marks that draw no form of blood, grit or gore. Unlike mundane flame its luminance does not cast a shadow, but rather in its place is simply more “light”, and furthermore does not spread upon naturally flammable materials unless corruption is present. 

 

• An Inquisitor’s main reservoir of power comes from spending mana to draw upon divine energy from their Tahariaean Flame in the form of lux, used to weave them into spells borne of Lambence. The tier progression for this is as follows:

 

T1: 4 lux

T2: 6 lux

T3: 8 lux

T4: 12 lux

T5: 16 lux

 

• Exhaustion for these tiers comes at 1, 2, 2, 3, 4 lux respectively which entails the Tahariaean Flame within a Lambent Ring beginning to cannibalize the Inquisitor as they experience a searing sensation that sprouts from their Ringbearing Arm as a growing gray flame. This exhaustion and pain only grows in magnitude, size and intensity until it completely consumes the Inquisitor’s being and renders them completely debilitated at 0 motes, unable to continue any form of combat whatsoever.

• Lambence is the bulk of combative Inquisitor magic that manifests as a shade of gray, and its belligerent effects only manifest in spells specifically weaved out of it for combat. Any further effects are aesthetic and flavorful at best and may not be roleplayed as anything further.
• Lambence spells harm the Condemned and Doomed with a sensation akin to first and second degree burns respectively.
• The natural and default radiance of Lambence is comparable to torch-light at best and is able to cut through any form of unnatural darkness. Flame can be considered akin to a bright fire and illuminates a [2] meter radius when called upon combatively in Greater Immaculate Invocation. AoE spells in this magic such as the radiant variation of Call Luminance, Memnos’ Might, Oerdon’s Grace fully clear any form of unnatural darkness such as dreadbreath it is cast within. 
• Flame is the ritualistic and last-resort component of Inquisitor magic that manifests as pure white and may not be freely summoned unless for ritualistic or combative purposes. 
• Lux regenerates after every narrative day or long rest, whichever happens first.
• Exhaustion begins compounding significantly every cost after the threshold until the Inquisitor is rendered fully incapacitated once they are fully spent.

A Ringknight of the First Roundtable, masters of control over the Flame of Purity.

Aspects of Purity: Light and Flame

The first sparks of Inquisitor magic were born atop the halcyon peak of the First Immaculate Tower of Tahariae. After their failed peacemakings, the barbarian lord Amalek the Four-Cursed had fled and the martyred prophet Ea-Ir-Ahat laid heavensward as an inferno of immaculate flames. Elam-Ilir stood in reflection with the very first Lambent Ring clutched in his hand, endowed upon him by the Lord of Purity from whom he had wrested back his divine favor. 

 

Adorning the ring brought a searing sensation unparalleled to anything the ancient Elf had ever felt before, and with it, a flame rekindled and a compact signed. Spindling lambent streaks of light were weaved as naturally as breathing unto his blade, which now shone with a sheen of not white, but gray - a pale reflection of his nascent impurity-given-purpose.

 

All emote-counts listed below are inclusive of connection. Connection is necessary before using any of these spells and is persistent.

 

Wound classes use the currently accepted tiers from Templarism which will be lifted here for reference:

 

Minor Wounds: Scrapes, Bruises and Lacerations.

Moderate Wounds: Broken Bones and Punctures.

Major Wounds: Impalement, Dismemberment and Mutilation.

Lambent Incantations

Lucent Mandate [T1]

The first spell of Tahariaean Lambence and an Inquisitor’s purpose incarnate, Lucent Mandate is the weaving of light into intent upon existing weapons or creating them anew entirely.

Mechanics:

Drawing from the light of their Lambent Flame, an Inquisitor fashions it as either an infusion or a projection for use against their sworn foes. Infusion is unlocked at tier 1 while projection is unlocked at tier 2. 

 

Infusion [T1]: Tahariae’s Lambence is infused into an existing melee weapon over [2] emotes to give it a holy-damage augmentation, enabling it to inflict the combative effects of lambence upon the Condemned and the Doomed. This manifests as searing magical burns of the first and second degree respectively as per the properties of Lambence, and bypasses light armor. 2 emotes. 1 cost.

 

Projection [T3]: Tahariae’s Lambence is solidified into an ephemeral, semi-tangible form to create a weapon constructed entirely of light. Lightborne projections are hard to maintain and last only [2] emotes after being conjured, and notably break after [1] direct strike upon enemies. Voidal shields and barriers may be used to block and therefore shatter this spell, though it cuts through and breaks any form of magical shield conjured by Condemned and Doomed magic.

 

The capabilities and cost of this spell scales with the Inquisitor’s tier; note that higher tier Inquisitors may downcast this spell:

 

• T3: The Inquisitor’s lightborne weapon has physical force equivalent to their mundane counterpart, inflicting the searing and cutting effects of lambence. 
  • Sidearms and throwable weapons may be summoned at this tier and may be thrown on the next emote upon being summoned. [3] emotes. [2] cost. 

 

• T4: The Inquisitor’s lightborne weapon has physical force twice that of their mundane counterpart and half its weight, inflicting the searing effects of lambence. 
  • One-handed weapons may be summoned at this tier and may be swung on the same emote as summoning. [3] emotes. 1 emote cooldown. [5] cost.
  • Projections at this tier may also aesthetically be manifested on existing weapons for the same effect. This augmentation does NOT stack with any property of the weapon it is projected on whatsoever. 
    • An example of this would be creating a lightborne axe over a carbarum sword would NOT give it any carbarum strength on top of the strength buff it already has, but will make it as slow as a carbarum weapon.  

 

This spell may be used to create makeshift one-time use tools for events and non-crp scenarios for negligible cost. 

 

In post-combat scenarios Projection may be used to create lightborne handcuffs that nullify use of dark and deific magic, albeit this requires constant connection and contact with the Inquisitor maintaining this minor Projection.

 

Redlines:

• Infusion is a [T1] spell that is cast over 2 emotes with 1 cost. The spell infuses the Inquisitor’s weapon with lambence which gives them a holy-damage augmentation against targets considered “Condemned” and “Doomed.” Infusion is persistent and lasts the whole combat encounter so long as the Inquisitor remains connected.
• Projection is a [T3] spell that is cast over 3 emotes with scaling costs per tier wherein the Inquisitor conjures a lightborne weapon for 3 or 5 cost. The nature of these weapons must have a mundane equivalent and it is equivalent to it in form. Projection weapons also inflict the searing effect that infusion does on Condemned and Doomed.
• Projection weapons are ephemeral and last [2] emotes after cast before dissipating, or are broken as soon as it directly strikes a target - whichever comes first. 
• The purely holy nature of projection weapons means it is entirely shattered by voidal shields and barriers, though it cuts through magical barriers cast by Condemned and Doomed magic. In the rare occasion where a projection weapon comes into contact with a projectile from these magics, the same effect applies. 
• If thrown, projection weapons remain manifested until striking a surface.
• In event scenarios the objects and tools that may be created by projection may be more freeform, albeit a general guideline to heed is that they are ephemeral and dissipate after a few emotes.

 

 

Banish Falsehood [T2]
An archetypical “Inquisitorial” spell invented by Makathir the Silverbane for wrestling the truth amidst murky deceptions for cutthroat interrogations, this spell harnesses the metaphorical purity of Tahariae’s lambence to bring clarity.

Mechanics:

An Inquisitor alights their ring and covers it with truth-bearing lambence for one-time use, allowing whatever it touches to be cleansed of any form of deception or maintained falsehood. The object it touches will be rid of any form of magical disguises they may possess, and illusions an Inquisitor comes into contact with also become immediately negated. In event scenarios or with OOC (not IC) consent, an Inquisitor may utilize this spell to compel the Condemned or Doomed to speak the truth during an interrogation once, and with any further attempts on the target requiring a roll contest skewed in the favour of the Inquisitor. A roll of 8 or above is a success and anything below is failure. Using this spell, be it for a success or failure means the Inquisitor may not attempt this spell again on the same narrative day or 4 OOC hours, whichever comes first.

Upon reaching Tier 3 this spell gains a minor combative use in the form of a one-time cleanse during an encounter. This involves the Inquisitor clutching on their ring after alighting it over [3] emotes and they may rid themselves of any dark or deific spells that they are experiencing; examples include mystic enervation, necromantic darkening, ghost possession, malflame burning and so forth. 3 cost. This spell may be cast as an AoE at tier 4 where the cleasing effects extend to a 2 meter radius, sharing this effect to allies - this variation requires 3 emotes and 4 cost.

 

Redlines:

• Banish Falsehood is a non-combative spell at [T2] which may be casted with a freeform number of emotes that involves the Inquisitor alighting their ring with Lambence and making contact with the target. This spell gains a combative use at [T3] which is cast for [3] emotes and 3 cost. The AoE variation requires the same number of emtoes for 4 cost. 
• Banish Falsehood may not under any circumstances be used as a justification for metagaming information. The truth-bearing effects it enforces ONLY applies during event scenarios with ET consent or rp scenarios with OOC consent; otherwise the spell simply does not activate or work. 
• The illusion-breaking effects of this spell only apply to illusions that are magically maintained. Any form of physical illusion like undead husking does not count. 
• The non-combative variation of Banish Falsehood goes under 1 narrative day or 4 OOC hour cooldown when it is used on a person, be it successful or otherwise.
• Both variants of combative “Banish Falsehood” share the same one-time per encounter cooldown, meaning if an Inquisitor has already cleansed themselves they will no longer have access to the AoE variant.
• Combative cleansing allows an Inquisitor to rid themselves of any combative dark or deific spell debuff effects they may be experiencing, this includes spells such as malflame burns, necromantic darkening, mysticism enervates and so forth; any spell that directs harms an Inquisitor. This does NOT include long-term curses that affect the Inquisitor like Necromantic Plagues, Mysticism Hexes, Malflame Banes, Naztherak Idols, etc. 

 

 

Call Luminance [T2]
Largely vestigial of the Clerics of old for whom this spell was a staple, Legless Laudanum of the Roundtable sought to feebly replicate its capabilities for Inquisitorial use.

Mechanics:

An Inquisitor may weave their coveted Lambence from their Ringbearing hand over [3] emotes into the form of a fist-sized projectile fired at arrow-speed. The magical nature of this projectile means it only possesses the baseline burning effects of Lambence upon the Condemned and the Doomed and lacks any form of armor penetration, only affecting those with light or natural armor. Should it directly strike the target a Call Luminance projectile may disrupt the connections and channeling of spells. 2 cost. 

 

Upon reaching Tier [3] an Inquisitor may augment this projectile to a radiant form, removing it of any offensive capabilities beyond the disorienting effect a bright burst of light will have. As a result all targets within its immediate 1 meter vicinity are stunned for their next emote, while those within a 3 meter vicinity experience a mild disorientation for the same duration that makes their next action hazy and reactable. The Condemned and Doomed caught within this external radius are inflicted with a sensation akin to first degree burns upon exposed flesh and nothing more. 3 cost.

 

Projectiles may only be held back for [3] emotes max and may naturally be blocked by mundane and voidal shields and barriers, though it cuts through any form of magical shield cast by Condemned and Doomed magic.

 

Connected Inquisitors may also use Call Luminance to manifest lightwoven arrows for ranged weapons with the same number of emotes that carry exactly the same force as their mundane counterparts alongside the additional burning effect Lambence possesses.

 

Redlines:

• Call Luminance is a [T2] projectile spell that is cast over [3] emotes for both variations at 2 or 3 cost. All projectiles may be held back for [3] emotes max and are considered line-of-sight range.
• All forms of Call Luminance may be blocked by mundane and voidal shields and barriers, though it bypasses any form of magical shield cast by Condemned and Doomed magic.
• The baseline variation may be aesthetically shaped to any form so long as it is generally fist-sized, and carries with it no concussive force but rather the signature burning effect of Lambence upon those considered “Condemned” or “Doomed”, inflicting 1st and 2nd degree burns upon them respectively and bypasses light/natural armor.
• The radiant variation of Call Luminance is unlocked at Tier 3 where the Inquisitor must telegraph a growing radiance until it is fired on the final emote. This projectile explodes into a burst of lambent light that is considered blinding to those within a [1] meter radius and dazes those within a [3] meter radius to a lesser extent. 
• The Condemned and Doomed caught within the [3] meter radius of the radiant augmentation experience a burning sensation akin to first degree burns upon their exposed flesh and nothing more. These are not literal burns. 

 

Sacred Ward [T3]

Oerdon the Beautiful once laid himself before a terrible gout of malflame as a gesture of his undying faith to Tahariae, inadvertently calling upon His divine protection. Eventually this feat would be dubbed “Sacred Ward”, the defensive premium for Inquisitors.

Mechanics:

 

An Inquisitor may channel and shape the purifying properties of their Lambence into the form of a holy ward over [3] emotes the size of a single person tower-shield. This shield is largely transparent and magical in nature and provides absolute defense for [4] emotes against any form of spells except Voidal. Voidal spells above T3 will instantly bypass the shield and spells T3 and below will negate it. 4 cost.

 

 

Sustaining this spell limits the Inquisitor to walking pace and an Inquisitor may not cast any other spells in this duration. 

 

Sacred Ward may furthermore be infused upon an existing shield and doing so reduces the duration to [2] emotes. This variation counts as a persisting passive like Lucent Mandate and removes the walking-pace requirement.

 

Redlines:

• Sacred Ward is a [T3] ward spell cast over [3] emotes where the Inquisitor calls upon their Lambence and wills it into the form of a transparent magical shield the size of a tower-shield. 
• Sacred Ward exclusively provides magical protection, and has NO effect whatsoever on physical strikes even if they are from the Condemned or the Doomed. Magical protection does not count for Voidal spells which will either bypass or negate it.
• Sacred Ward does NOT impede line of sight for both the Inquisitor and their adversaries.
• Sacred Ward limits the Inquisitor to walking pace the whole duration it is being maintained.

 

Wreathing Indictment [T3]
An Inquisitor’s mandate is imposed upon an Errant deemed guilty enough to warrant their judgement, enabling their magic to affect and sanction them in conflict.

Mechanics:

Wreathing Indictment is the projection of an Inquisitor's divine prerogative onto a targeted errant to make them a “Condemned”, where the Inquisitor places a spiritual wreathing “mark” upon them over [4] emotes at a line-of-sight range. This mark lasts a combative encounter and manifests in any aesthetic form, appearing prominently upon the affected target. Any wreathing mark casted on a target is shared amongst a group of Inquisitors and an Inquisitor may only mark [1] target at a time and melee grappling reduces the cast time of this spell by an emote. 3 cost.

 

Should an Inquisitor initiate combat with this spell, they may condemn the target with their mark over the first [2] emotes and subsequently weave their lambence into a spell over the final [2] emotes, allowing them to cast the following spells without any additional cost, telegraphed in the emote before the full cast: Lucent Mandate, Call Luminance, Sacred Ward.

 

During events Wreathing-marks transfer onto a nearby target upon execution. 

 

Redlines:

• Wreathing Indictment is a [T3] spell cast over [4] emotes and 3 cost where the Inquisitor places a radiant Wreathing mark upon an Errant to have them be considered “Condemned” and therefore affected by Inquisitor spells. This is required for Errants, Soulless Constructs and Voidborn Creatures.
• Should Wreathing Indictment be used to initiate combat, the Inquisitor is allowed to place their mark on the first [2] emotes and cast Lucent Mandate, Call Luminance or Sacred Ward alongside all their variations for no additional cost on the last [2]. These spells MUST be telegraphed in the emote before the mark is placed and follows their respective redlines and mechanics. 
• Wreathing Indictment may be “prepared” pre-encounter during events with ET consent. 
• Wreathing Indictment requires line of sight for the full duration of the cast.
• Initiating combat with Wreathing Indictment means being the first to connect and begin casting in a given encounter.
• Wreathing Indictment may not be used to metagame if an Errant is already a Condemned or not, meaning the spell is redundant if applied on a target who is already a revealed Condemned or Doomed. 
• Should the Inquisitor not have knowledge of the target being either, this spell will allow them to harm them anyway as they would be considered an Errant-turned-Condemned. 

 

A darkly garbed Inquisitor, pursuant of the Condemned

 

Aspects of Mortality [T4]

Techniques believed to have been passed down from the Roundtable Knights themselves, the Aspects of Mortality are the incarnation of an Inquisitor’s soulful will through means of the divine. If Wreathing Indictment is an imposition of will then the Aspects are its realization. An Inquisitor may glimpse their various unique schools of war through inheriting their ingenuity, and may one day forge their own.

A Tier 4 Inquisitor who has achieved mastery of lambence may manifest Tahariae’s light in a way that best reflects their nature, enabling them to learn ONE signature spell of a specific Roundtable lineage. These are effectively echoes of their weapon arts, and come with unique aesthetic synergies to those fully in harmony with their way. 

 

The accessible catalogue of Roundtable spells are as follows:

 

Oerdon’s Grace 

Oerdon was styled “Beautiful” not only for his physiognomy but also his sense of aesthetics, espousing elegance amidst the most gruesome of battles and beyond it. Each and every strike of his blade seemed like an artful dance, and to mantle the Paragon of Pulchritude is to replicate his composition. 

 

Mechanics:

“Oerdon’s Grace” is a stance-buff spell that requires the Inquisitor to remain completely stationary for [3] emotes with a [5] emote duration, augmenting their weapon with their fiery streaks of Lambence that does not just glow but crackles and sways like false flames. For this duration the weapon’s strikes are considered half-strength, comparable to that swung by a Voidal mage (i.e. half-damage), but gain additional reach in the form of sweeping arcs of Lambence that stretch [3] meters across with a [3] block range. [3] cost.

 

To maintain this spell is to remain in the “rhythm” of combat, meaning any form of direct wound inflicted on the Inquisitor in this duration will cause this spell to cease entirely. The sweeping arcs Oerdon’s Grace delivers carry no inherent knockback whatsoever and may be used to aesthetically counter dark and deific projectiles T3 or below, where direct contact with them result in a mutually-canceling reaction.

 

This spell is only compatible with weapons that inflict slash-damage, such as swords, katanas, scimitars, greatswords, and so forth, and to harmonize with Oerdon’s Grace is to use this spell with a one-handed longsword, his favored. Doing so grants this spell an optional aesthetic augmentation of radiant silvery tears and other Aengulic features manifesting during the casting of this spell and an offensive boon that allows it to pierce light and natural armor.

 

Oerdon’s Grace stacks and overrides Lucent Mandate: Infusion should it be active, meaning strikes delivered by this spell carry with it the same searing effects Lucent Mandate would have upon the Condemned and the Doomed.
 

Redlines

• Oerdon’s Grace is a [T4] Aspect of Mortality spell that requires [3] emotes and [3] cost to cast for a [5] emote buff duration. The Inquisitor must remain fully stationary during cast
• The weapon this spell is casted on is augmented with not radiating but fiery Lambence which causes the weapon to deal half-damage as if it were being swung by a voidal mage, but gain increased reach and coverage in the form of its strikings resulting in Lambent arcs stretching [3] meters and travelling a [3] meter range. 
• The arcs launched by this spell do NOT have any innate knockback or concussive pushback. Should this spell be used with a sword it will knock back a target a distance comparable to its strike which is negligible. 
• Oerdon’s Grace may be interrupted by diruspting the Inquisitor’s flow of combat through inflicting a direct wound upon them, which will cause this spell to deactivate entirely. 
• Oerdon’s Grace is only compatible with slash-damage weapons and may not be used with bows, maces, or any other weapon-class. In the edge-case of where a weapon deals both slash and stab damage such as a pointed halberd, the weapon’s “main” functionality is considered its class.
• Harmonizing with Oerdon’s Grace requires the Inquisitor to use a one-handed sword. Doing so allows for optional aesthetics in the form of silvery tears or Aengulic features, and grants the augmentation light and natural armor piercing capability. 
• Oerdon’s Grace may be used to aesthetically counter dark and deific projectiles T3 or below where direct contact results in a mutually cancelling reaction. This means Azdrazi projectiles are excluded as they are T5 by default.

 

Memnos’ Might
Memnos the Muted is a terribly-tusked Orc of grotesque appearances oft considered hideous by all who had beheld his visage. Yet another aspect he was unparalleled in was his brute strength, epitomized by Memnos’ Might that captures only but a fraction of the havoc he wreaked upon the familiar fields of war.

 

Mechanics: 

 

“Memnos’ Might” is a channeled spell that requires the Inquisitor [4] emotes to cast, where they are limited to walking-pace for the entire duration. In this duration their weapon becomes blindly radiant as it is overcharged with Lambence before an Inquisitor smashes it upon the ground to release a shockwave of a [3] meter radius centered on them. All targets caught within this shockwave will be knocked back to its maximum radius, inflicting second-degree burns that leaves them dazed and unable to perform an offensive action. The strain of this spell leaves the Inquisitor in more dire straits, rendering them unable to perform any action in the same duration. [6] cost.

 

 

This spell is only compatible with blunt-damage weapons, and to harmonize with Memnos’ Might requires the Inquisitor to cast this spell with a flail. Doing so grants this spell an optional aesthetic augmentation of additional arms grasping the flail whilst it is being cast and an offensive boon that reduces the dazing effect so the Inquisitor is only unable to perform an offensive action after casting and reduced to walking pace.

 

Redlines

• Memnos’ Might is a [T4] Aspect of Mortality spell that requires [4] emotes and [6] cost for the Inquisitior to supercharge their weapon with Lambence and smash it into the ground for a shockwave. This spell limits the Inquisitor to walking-pace for its entire cast duration and stuns the Inquisitor completely when cast, preventing them from perform ANY actions. 
• This spell results in a shockwave centered on the Inquisitor with a [3] meter radius, and all those caught within its radius experience heat capable of inflicting second-degree burns and are pushed back to its maximum radius, the dazing from this spell rendering them unable to perform any offensive actions
• This spell may only be used with blunt-damage weapons for a ground-smash, and has no effect when directly used to strike a target. In event scenarios should ET consent be given, the shockwave effect may be used on larger creatures for the same effect on them. 
• Harmonizing with this weapon requires the Inquisitor to use a flail. Doing so allows for the optional aesthetic of lambent arms manifesting during cast and reduces the dazing effect so the Inquisitor is only unable to perform offensive actions. 
• Memnos’ Might may not be used to deflect any projectiles of any speed. 

 

 

Makathir’s Reach
Makathir the Silverbane, the youngest and perhaps the most zealous of Elam’s generals, is a High Elf of Lomalite descent who seeks true Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya; the pursuit of purity transcendant of race. He acts as Inquisitor-Overseer of Khamaloth and consequently its governance and justice. Makathir’s Reach is his cold persecution, used often to bring servants of ruin to the courts for judgment.

 

Mechanics:

An Inquisitor may call upon and loose a lightborne harpoon manifested over the course of [3] emotes where they are rooted and unable to perform any other action for its entire duration. The ephemerality of light means this spell may only be held back for [2] emotes before dissipating and has a [1] emote cooldown after being fully utilized. The harpoon has the [16] meter range of a typical javelin and may be thrown at an extended [30] meter javelin-range with [1] additional emote of preparation. [3] cost.

 

Makathir’s Reach is soul-seeking and thus causes no real physical harm, only piercing through armor as if it were not there and inflicting the searing sensation of Lambence upon those struck akin to first degree burns, or second degree burns should they be Doomed. Upon being impaled, the target may be pulled to the Inquisitor in the next emote should they be within a [16] meter range, or pulled over the course of one additional emote should they be within the [30] meter range. Any form of obstruction between the Inquisitor and the target will naturally impede and cause this spell to fail.

 

The spell is compatible with weapons that inflict piercing-damage, such as spears, pointed halberds, javelins, rapiers and so forth. To harmonize with Makathir’s reach is to use a spear, and doing grants the Inquisitor an optional chain-like aesthetic to the harpoon when cast, and grants an offensive boon in that this spell may be cast at walking-pace. 

 

Redlines:

• Makathir’s Reach is a [T4] Aspect of Mortality that requires [3] emotes and [3] cost to be cast and thrown. The spell can only be held for [2] emotes after casting and has a [1] emote cooldown after being fully utilized. 
• The harpoon-like nature of this spell means any obstructions between the Inquisitor and the target when it is fired and being pulled back will cause it to fail.
• The lightborne harpoon follows javelin and throwing spear ranges as specified in Techlock - Armaments. Thus, its range can be extended from [16] to [30] for an additional [1] emote charge time. 
• The pull-back effect of this spell is not instantaneous, and happens on the emote after the harpoon makes its mark. Should the target be within the extended [16] to [30] meter range of this spell it takes one additional emote after that.
• The lightborne harpoon will snare and pull any creature orc-sized and below to the Inquisitor. 
• In event scenarios this spell may be amplified with the help of other Inquisitors who aid the caster in the same turn the spell is being manifested. Olog sized creatures will be snared and pulled with the help of [1] additional Inquisitor and anything further requires more. The required Inquisitors for creatures larger than an Olog are at the discretion of the ET.
• Makathir’s Reach can be avoided or blocked by the target through any conventional means.

 

Laudanum’s Light
Legless Laudanum was an Orc whose deformed tusks bent his bones and ultimately sealed away the use of his legs. His devotion to seal away the pain of his brother Memnos brought him to find revelation in his ring and invent Laudanum’s Light, a spell often used to bring his brother Memnos his much needed reprieve through Tahariaae’s Lambence.

 

Mechanics:

An Inquisitor may draw upon the vestiges of Tahariae’s benevolence over [4] emotes to channel its restorative and relieving properties, remaining for [5] emote rounds after cast. Upon initial cast, all minor wounds the target experiences are sealed and all medium wounds are reduced with minor wounds, while the Inquisitor experiences a dulled sense of pain for the remaining amount of time. 

 

The imperfection of Laudanum’s light is that its influence is fleeting, and therefore this form of healing is only a temporary half-measure at best. At the end of the [5] emote duration all mitigated wounds return to their original states and the pain of wounds old and new all return to the Inquisitor in a simultaneous instant rendering them incapacitated for further combat until the wounds are tended to. 

 

The divine nature of this spell means that voidal spells above T3 will cause this spell to falter before ultimately ceasing after two emotes. Magical wounds inflicted upon an Inquisitor do not count. 

 

This spell is compatible with all weapon-classes and to harmonize with Laudanum’s Light is to face battle with his undying faith, donning armor no greater than light. Doing so empowers this Aspect of War in that the effects above are replaced with a permanent healing that mends all surface-level flesh wounds below puncture-severity during the [5] emote duration.

 

 Redlines: 

• Laudanum’s Light is a [T4] Aspect of Mortality cast over [4] emotes and [6] cost where the Inquisitor dulls pain for [5] emotes after cast. Upon cast the Inquisitor is temporarily healed where all medium wounds are reduced to minor and all minor wounds are sealed. 

• Medium wounds present at the casting of the spell are unable to be mended fully by Laudanum’s Light. They act as minor wounds for the duration of the encounter.
• All wounds healed by this spell will be reopened after an encounter ends, and all pain that was dulled during the encounter’s duration will return and render the Inquisitor unable to continue to combat until they are tended to. 
• Being struck by a voidal spell above T3 will cause this spell to deactivate after 2 emotes.
• This spell does NOT make an Inquisitor immune to pain by any means, the sensation is only dulled like an anesthetic. Any wounds that should physically incapacitate a normal individual will do the same to an Inquisitor; severed limbs or severely broken bones will still feel painful to the point of disrupting their focus and combative capabilities. 
• Harmonizing with Laudanum’s Light requires the Inquisitor to wear light armor or below, and doing so empowers the healing this spell provides so that it becomes permanent. All wounds below puncture-severity (stabs) are mended in the [5] emote duration. 
• Magical wounds are not healed in any way by this spell. It ONLY heals physical wounds.

 

Elam’s Creation
Elam was the first inheritor of Tahariae’s Lambent flame and to this day he continues to glean its secrets atop the Immaculate Sanctorum in Khamaloth. His greatest boon to his Inquisitors and Ringknights was his Promethean creation, his exertion of unalloyed mortal will upon Tahariae’s divine gift made his own. Over the years this has led to the birth of numerous Inquisitor schools of war, each envisioned by the members of Roundtable.

 

Mechanics: 

A [T5] Inquisitor, upon reaching Apotheosis, may create a personal MArt spell to use as their own Aspect of Mortality. Doing so represents the actualization of an Inquisitor’s individuality and thus deprives them of whatever Aspect of Mortality they may currently be using, replacing them with the spell they have made on their own. 

 

This is a ritual-spell that requires 3 [T5] Inquisitors at the very least to perform a ritual at the Immaculate Brazier where the remains of a dark CA are immolated as fuel and sacrifice. Self-made Aspects of Mortality are knowledge-locked and may be taught to other Inquisitors. 

 

Aspects of Mortality MArts are recommended to follow the format used in the four existing spells in the catalogue above. 

 

Immaculate Invocation [T5]

True purity is an immaculate flame which burns bright and indiscriminately for it is Tahariae’s revelatory will made incarnate. To harness his coveted remembrance, an Inquisitor risks both body and soul as they draw upon their very crutch.

Mechanics: 

As they reach Apotheosis an Inquisitor gradually gains access to the greatest boon bestowed upon them by the Lord of Purity and Justice - His holyfire. This spell is divided into two forms - Lesser and Greater - for ritual and combative use respectively. 

 

Lesser [T3]: 

Lesser holyfire is the non-combative variation of Immaculate Invocation used primarily for ritualistic and purging purposes. Drawing upon this pure-white flame, though causing some duress, can be called upon once a day in any aesthetic form for ritual purposes as follows:

 

• Absolution [T3]: Used primarily as a means for peaceful cremation so a soul may be laid to rest and keepsake materials for future use, an Inquisitor may draw upon their coveted flame to harmless degrees post-combat to cremate corpses or capture those Condemned and Doomed into infused resin composed of their basest essence. The nature of this dust is a pale reflection of what once was and are Story-Signed as it can be used as MArting material for Inquisitors that wish to fashion artefacts out of their prize. Inquisitorial MArts created from infused dust generally require light, the presence of a Brazier flame and are effective against the type of creature the dust has been derived from.

 

• Purification [T4]: An Inquisitor may draw upon the purifying aspect of their holyfire to manifest it for cleansing purposes against blights and cursed objects. The thorough purification that holyfire provides causes objects that have recently been purified to take up a colorless and marble-like sheen, the mark of an Inquisitor’s work which lasts a few narrative days or 4 OOC hours. 
  • Cleansing tiers and requirements are as follows:
    • 1 Inquisitor: May purify items afflicted with dark or deific enchantments and influences such as possessed objects, blood-magic ensorcellments, Naztherak idols, Necromantic blights, Mysticism hexes, and so forth. 
    • 2 Inquisitors: May purge small-scale worldly entrenchments of the dark and divine in the form of altars. This includes Azdrazi drakeshrines, Frost Witch altars, Druidic shrines, 
    • 3 Inquisitors: May purge larger scale worldly afflictions up to a 10 meter radius size the likes of Necromantic Heith Hedran rifts, Mystic hindering and Naz’ku’thuuns. Every additional Inquisitor raises the radius by 10. Purged regions do not revert back to their natural form and are exclusively expunged of whatever was afflicting it.
    • 4 Inquisitors: In the rare scenario of severely worldly violations like Voidal Hollows, four Inquisitors at a minimum may cooperate with other cleansing deific magics, such as Druids and Shamans to set aside differences and have it be purified. This particular cooperative ritual is relatively freeform and requires ST oversight and approval to fully occur

 

Greater [T5]: 

Greater Holyfire is the pinnacle manifestation of an Inquisitor’s Lambent flame, drawn straight from their coveted ring and consequently inflicting great duress and peril on an Inquisitor’s lifeblood. Over [4] emotes can an Inquisitor begin harnessing the very flames that grant them their condition into physical form, manifesting as a sacred, immaculate-white gout of flame that severely burns everything in its reach with the strength of second-degree burns. Wounds inflicted by greater Immaculate Invocation leave no form of scarring on targets, and any form of burns or charring caused by this spell are instead replaced by silvery-white marks as their body is gradually returned to marble then ashes. This spell has a [6] meter range and is [1] meter in diameter, furthermore limiting the Inquisitor to walking-pace while it is being maintained. 

 

The extreme duress greater Immaculate Invocation places on an Inquisitor ring causes it to become dormant for an OOC week should this once-an-encounter spell be used, and should this spell be channeled for any longer than [3] emotes results in an irrevocable PK after use. Uses that extend beyond [3] emotes gain an additional combative augmentation that extends the spell’s diameter to [3] meters and causes it to become third-degree and uninterruptible. 

 

Like any other flamethrower spell Greater Immaculate Invocation may be blocked by means of a mundane shield which may be set aflame but still protect the target, and notably aurum objects that are tool-sized (not accessories) are able to hold the flame for its full [3] emote duration.

 

Targets marked by Wreathing Indictment cause this spell to gain an additional heating effect similar to Dragonsflame, making it capable of melting plate-armor in 3 emotes. 

 

There are two ways in which an Inquisitor perishes using the PK variation of this spell, and this is hinted at over the [3] emote channel duration the Inquisitor performs. An Inquisitor is either completely consumed by their flame as they are fully purified of sin, or their flame is gradually snuffed out as an Inquisitor’s innate mortality overcomes it, succumbing to their nascent curse now thrashing as they become consumed by Doom Sickness. The fate one suffers is akin to karma, determined by the good and evil an Inquisitor has committed over the course of their life and servitude; the former condemns to self-determination and the soul may choose their afterlife as is Tahariae’s will, and the latter condemns them to a form of oblivion beyond the Lord of Purity’s hands, dooming them to a mundane fate in the Ebriaetes. 

 

Redlines:

• Immaculate Invocation is a spell divided into two components, Lesser and Greater. 
• Lesser purityfire is unlocked at [T3] and has no particular emote-count or cost as it is noncombative, and may be manifested in any aesthetic form. This variation may only be used ONCE a day for either Absolution or Purification. 
• Being at an Immaculate Brazier compensates for this once a day limit as their flame is emboldened. 
• Absolution requires the dark CA, be it a player or an ET creature, to already be felled for effective use, though may be used as a means of execution should they already be subjugated. 
• Dust obtained through Absolution must be story-signed with clear proof of roleplay. Inert and mundane cremation dust may be player-signed. 
• Any form of item or regional purification requires a /sreq, with evidence of purging rp so that the item or region may be amended. 
• Regional purifications adhere to any form of moderation rules and redlines they may have in their respective lores.

Puritan Judgements [T4]
Puritan Judgements are a unique form of post-combat rituals that are meant to give an Inquisitor’s corrupted foes a choice in their fate rather than just death and demanifestation. Reliant on the honesty of the judged, the Inquisitor may function as judge, jury and executioner in their quest to burn out those who abandon mortal purity. The judiciary nature of Puritan Judgements is derived from Tahariae’s ideals of a world of laws and legalism, where an objective morality based on the physical and spiritual condition of earthly beings, primarily Descendants, acts as reference for what must be, or what can be, done to fix them.

Mechanics:

Judgements are unlocked at Tier 4 and conducted in a form of on-field ritual, in which the subject, after being subdued willingly or through combat, is evaluated for the degrees of corruption their body and soul harbor, thereby allowing the Inquisitor to estimate the appropriate level of choices. 

 

These degrees of corruption are known as “Sacre Iudicatum”, or the Holy Determinations in Flexio. Depending on how a subject falls upon the balancing scale of the Sacred Iudicatum, their fate will maintain the same principles, but grow in severity.

 

All rituals require OOC consent and cooperation from all involving parties to properly manifest IRP. 

 

SACRE IUDICATUM

The Sacre Iudicatum insofar contains a collection of three rituals meant to suppress the impurity and ill will of the Descendants, their magic, and their distortive creature forms (CAs). Depending on the level of impurity in a character, forms of punishment, restriction or “cursing” are available for the Inquisitor to impose upon their subjects as a means to somehow redeem or salvage their souls and condition, with the only alternative being death. The sentencing of judgements upon a character typically has an indefinite duration, meaning whatever judgement was sealed for them (excluding reincarnation) will not break on its own, or unless certain conditions are met (Rite of Silence). 

 

The following are the each ritual (“rites”) and then their respective availability to each level of character impurity:

 

The Rite of Indictment [Errants]

 

Requiring the forced or willing submission of the character, the Rite of Indictment will, if they are an Errant Descendant, be capable of scorching a gold-hued ring over the heartside of their chest, and thereby render them vulnerable to the Inquisitor’s lambent sorcery in equal measure to the Condemned weakness to it. This is essentially a post-combat variant of Wreathing Indictment that renders its effects permanent upon a marked Errant. 

 

The Rite of Silence [Condemned, Doomed]

 

The Rite of Silence requires the forced or willing submission or a Condemned or Doomed Descendant character, who receives either a golden brand upon the center of their chest or somewhere prominent upon their body, ensorceled with the power to contain all powers extraneous to the small collection of spells meant to keep them and their condition alive. Because Taharae’s judgement is shared across nearly all powers across Creation, the effect of the Judgement of Silence manifests differently depending on the kind of power the recipient wields, or what form they take. 

 

Mechanics:

Chaining them to the lowest threshold of their power, the Judgement of Silence never fades from the soul and form of the judged or otherwise will remain in effect indefinitely. The divine curse may only be broken in two ways: if the Condemned are disconnected from their magic of fault, or if a master in the field of the magic it’s suppressing (T5) overloads the curse mark’s capacity to regulate the character’s level of corruption, thus leading to its dissolution and fading. 

 

Redlines:

• The Rite of Silence is capable of suppressing the use of a character’s spells and abilities as described in their MA or CA, all except abilities explicitly vital for the continual survival of their character, if applicable. 
• Magical silencing occurs indefinitely in a character given this judgment, and may only be broken if: 

1) the character’s MA is disconnected or discontinued,

2) if the physical mark representing the character’s judgement is subjected to an “overflow” of the same magical domain as it is intended to seal 

• Ex. a Necromancer can break a Darkstalker or other necromancer/necromancy CA’s seal 
• Only a T5 MA of the same domain is capable of causing this overflow, only requiring the T5 character to cast upon the physical mark until their mana is exhausted. 
• In addition, passive magical effects are also suppressed, such as Druidic Communion or Vaasek’s Seersight (of which is only reduced to feat-tier vision rather than total blindness.) 
  • In the latter case an Inquisitor may not know a Seer is a Seer of Vaasek but may unintentionally perform this sealing should the target be a Condemned who happens to have seer.

 

The Rite of Renewal [Doomed]

 

The Rite of Renewal is the most unforgiving but also the most purifying act of judgment available in an Inquisitor’s arsenal, meant to not only purify individual mortal souls otherwise considered doomed but also to repair the cycle of life and death at-large, one soul at a time. Reserved only for the Doomed, or Descendants transformed into deviant creatures (CAs), those who willingly choose this fate during their divine trial are thrust into a process of reincarnation that nearly wipes their entire slate clean.

 

Mechanics:

All connections, corruption and reliance imposed upon the subject’s soul are utterly severed under the blinding intensity of purifying fire, so completely purged that both their transformed bodies, as well as these malignant mutations of the soul, are rendered into an inert and meaningless dust. The soul itself is traumatized so deeply by the act that memories and personalities otherwise unable to be corrupted are suppressed, sometimes even erased, into the deepest recesses of the spirit. This “purified” soul is then captured and temporarily sealed into the ring of the Inquisitor conducting the Rite of Renewal for the sole sake of its transportation to the next step of their rebirth.

 

The Inquisitor must thereon seek a Descendant woman whose unborn child remains in utero, and if their proposition is agreed upon, the blank-slated soul once brimming with unnatural power is guided into them, to occupy the child’s heart where its own soul has yet to truly be realized. This will cause a fusion of spiritual matters, in which the person that once was is made one with the person that shall be, resulting in an entirely new individual. The suppressed ego survives within them as their dormant subconscious, only ever emerging once more under certain conditions and only after the child has reached an age where supernatural power becomes available to them (16).

 

The specific conditions for the old ego’s emergence demands the reteaching of the individual in the field of magic they had been condemned for using or being consumed by in their prior life, or that they are once again transformed into the same creature as before. While this will not restore their prior threshold of strength, it will restore the entirety of their memories prior to falling victim to the Rite of Renewal, thereby providing a direct continuation of their prior lives.

 

Redlines

• The Rite of Renewal only available to CAs classified as “Doomed” in the Sacre Induicatum. 
• This ritual is not enforceable and once again, must receive OOC consent for ritual success. The Rite of Indictment is the only exception to this rule.
• This ritual cannot be performed on a character more than once. “Doomed” reborn as a descendant may not FTB.
• On the occasion the character’s soul is incubated by a mother of another race, they are reborn with two curses of Iblees; their original and their new one, or more depending on how many curses dwell in the mother’s bloodline. 
• Past memories cannot be restored prior to the character's age of 16, and metagaming of past life memories may not be done in any form before this occurrence.  
• Memories are only restored through reteaching or reconnection of the original magic held by the character, or if no magic precedes a CA transformation, then they must retransform into their prior condition. Despite the inheritance of old memories, the tier level or their prior mastery in magical arts learned in their first life will not be carried over into their second.

Braziers and the Immaculate Tower

The Braziers of Purity are the Inquisitorial host’s equivalent to old Xannic altars and Clerical shrines meant to provide divine agents with a place of rest and utility. Containing a lesser flame gathered from the one Immaculate Tower in the land, the braziers are the place where Inquisitors may readily find rest, depending on how they place and maintain them throughout the world. At a brazier, an Inquisitor is capable of feats such as spellcrafting with Elam’s Creation and administering their collected curses into the flame for purification. The light of braziers are known to bring peace to the minds of every creature that approaches, even the most cursed of them all; allowing them to reminisce of some feeling of being alive.

 

The Immaculate Tower

 

The first Immaculate Tower was erected upon the world at the hands of Elam-Ilir the Ancient, and since then emissaries of his Roundtable have scattered across Aos and Eos to aspire to do the same across horizons and worlds. The Immaculate Towers are grand skyscraping spires hosting the greatest fragment and manifestation of his flame, making them the apex of his presence upon the mortal plane. Its influence is considered to extend a [30] meter radius from its epicenter, where the world is rendered pure and kept at a perpetual state of day; no forms of environmental corruption may manifest whatsoever. 

 

There exists only one Immaculate Tower of Tahariae upon every descendant map, its location decided upon by ST management as appropriate to serve as a gathering point and neutral-ground for Inquisitor-chapters for significant world events involving divine communion. All lesser braziers of Inquisitors scattered across the map can have their flame traced back to the Tower-flame of which it is a minute fragment of. 

 

Within the Immaculate Tower’s premises any form of dark and deific magicks are silenced completely except those of Inquisitors, who do not experience a literal silencing but rather a vow of abstention from any form of wanton violence. As these are supremely sacred grounds only meant to be visited for significant world events, they should not be abused for player-to-player conflict, and any form of abuse found by ST are grounds for appropriate enforcement. 

 

Abolition rituals are also conducted at the Immaculate Tower rather than at Lesser Braziers, and Inquisitors to be disconnected are to be subjugated before being brought to the Tower through capture rp for the ritual proper. 

 

Redlines:

• The Immaculate Tower is a deific event-zone meant to be used by ST and Inquisitors for events involving communion with Tahariae or any form of significant worldly occurrence. As a result of its divine adjacency, events here are naturally PK-claused.
• The Immaculate Tower is also used as the source of the [5] lesser braziers which may exist across the world. These can be harnessed by a T5 Inquisitor in the form of an ST-signed receptacle of a relatively freeform nature. 

 

Braziers

 

Claiming a flame for a Brazier involves a [T5] Inquisitor with a [TA] making a pilgrimage to the Immaculate Tower of Tahariae to chip off a minute portion of His divine flame, chanting a prayer and extending their Ringbound hand into the fire to signify their pledge before doing so. The flame is therein bestowed upon the Inquisitor who stores it in a receptacle largely composed of aurum capable of containing its divine radiance. This receptacle is a reliquary-equivalent for Braziers and require an ST signature. 

 

Characteristics:

 

• As lesser fragments of the Tower’s Immaculate Flame, Braziers emanate an aura of purity. The braziers keep all the land around it in a [20] meter radius purified of all forms of magical change or corruption. The mundanity of the land cannot be disturbed unless through the suppression (explained below) of the brazier flame, requiring one meets a very specific condition to suppress the flame’s power. While a brazier and its purifying fire can never be truly destroyed, its suppression may be maintained by opposing actors in a similar way to how it must be fed and kept alive by its keepers. 

 

• Braziers play a key ritualistic role in Tahariaean Lambence and may be used to initiate new Inquisitors and perform Elam’s Creation for the creation of MArts. 

 

• Because of an Inquisitor’s role as an exorcist of magical afflictions upon man, these braziers are especially useful for their purpose in allowing Tahariae’s chosen to dispense of the afflictions collected. This both relieves them and fuels the flame further, allowing it to maintain its strength and continue providing its passing blessing of peace to those to come before its light. As long as a single curse is fed to it per month, this remains in effect, though it must be fed again upon the beginning of the following. Failing to provide upkeep will cause the flame to falter, and failing to do so for another month causes it to die out entirely and return to the Lord of Purity, requiring the construction of a new Brazier entirely.

 

• When placed within the confines of a nation’s capital and thus given purpose, the Braziers of Purity’s worldly influence will expand over the entirety of the city boundaries (city region extent), and prevent all forms of character-inflicted corruption upon the land from taking root. The conditions of this require the brazier’s open access, meaning it cannot be contained in a secured building or a location with a roof preventing access to the sky and sunlight. The only way to break this passive protection is through the brazier’s direct suppression through accessing it inside the city boundaries. Non-city braziers also exist and have the same passive effects albeit only extend to the aforementioned [20] meter radius influence. 

 

Conditions:

 

• While only one Immaculate Tower can exist in a given Descendant realm, up to [5] Braziers of Purity can be constructed by the Inquisitors, but only [3] may be placed without significant sacrifices. The conditions in which a brazier must be placed also depends on the allowance of those who own the land it is meant for, as a brazier flame will not manifest at all without the express and honest blessing of the ruling sovereign of the nation. This also means braziers cannot be placed in land considered lawless or abandoned of mortal influence, such as wild or contested lands. In addition, there may only be one Brazier of Purity per nation or settlement.

 

• Because the Immaculate Tower’s flame is finite in nature, the act of constructing more than three braziers in a land stretches its power thin, and thus requires Inquisitors to make significant offerings in order to achieve the maximum of five in a realm (map). They must embark on quests to destroy grand and fearsome monsters and beasts and then dedicate the whole of their body to a pyre of purifying flame, which then must be guided and transferred into the extraneous brazier for its lighting. Alternatively, condemning CA characters to the same pyre (PK) and successfully snaring their soul will result in the brazier flame’s awakening all the same.

 

Redlines:

• Retrieval of a brazier flame requires an ST-signed receptacle item composed of aurum which contains the flame harvested from the Immaculate Tower by a [T5] Inquisitor with an [MA]
• Construction of a brazier requires ST oversight and approval, and may only be done so in places of mortal influence (within nation tiles) and may not be constructed in lairs and other regions considered uncontested. City capital braziers require nation leader consent, provided in dated screenshots. 
• Only [1] Immaculate Tower can exist on a map and [5] Braziers of Purity may be constructed by Inquisitors. The first [3] Braziers require no additional cost however the last [2] require a sacrifice in the form of event CA creatures or player CA creatures being PKed into the flame as fuel.
• Braziers emanate an aura of purity that extends a [20] meter radius by default but scales to a nation capital’s entire boundary should it be constructed there. The presence of braziers does not nerf dark or deific magics in any way but prevents the manifestation of environmental corruption by player magics.
• City capital braziers require open access, meaning it cannot be contained in a secured building or a location with a roof preventing access to the sky and sunlight. 
• The only way to break a Brazier’s protection and “destroy” it is through the brazier’s direct suppression through accessing it inside the city boundaries. Suppressions count as "raids" upon the city tile and triggers the cooldown regardless of the number of participants.
• Brazier upkeep requires [1] player curse per month and a record of maintenance is recommended to be kept for ST reference should it be required. 

 

Suppression

The suppression of a brazier flame is a grim deed, threatening the very mundanity and balance of the land it protects. The rituals involved with its suppression are inversal or polar-opposite to the methodology used to keep it strong, in which curses supplanted within men are transferred into it through Inquisitors who act as exorcisors, and then willing hosts. Suppression requires an overflow to be imposed upon the brazier flame, in which a character who either practices a magic of considerable skill (T4 MA) that the flame of purity targets, or a transformed character (CA) of the same principle, cast their spells into the flame enough times or long enough to lead to the exhaustion of their character. This amount of casting will be sufficient in the “overflow” of the flame’s purifying capabilities, instigating a violent upward surge before a near-total dissipation of its light and visage. The gray flames are reduced to pale embers that refuse to die, signifying a suppressed state only reversed through being fed a transferred curse or monstrous entity (event monster/non-PK CA death).

• Suppression may only be conducted by a character practicing a magical that the Flame of Purity is distinguished as opposing in Inquisitor magic lore, or by CA characters also affected by Inquisitor magic. 
• Suppression must be supervised and approved by the ST, with the event site given the appropriate changes to reflect the suppression’s success. Successful suppression requires the conducting character to expend themselves completely into the brazier, or otherwise until they are physically incapable of casting further. 
• Suppression and reactivation of a brazier site may occur as many times as possible, depending on the persistence of either side protecting/opposing the braziers, as long as protocol is followed.
•  If a brazier is suppressed for the entirety of a month, then it will permanently fade and another must be created elsewhere. This also results in the host nation losing the ability to contain a brazier within their territory for the remaining duration of the map’s lifetime.
• For a brazier to be rekindled after suppression requires a non-PK CA sacrifice or an event creature sacrifice.

Tier Progression

An Inquisitor’s growth in strength is synonymous to the growth of their coveted flame, forever seated within their Lambent Rings as they are spiritually entangled. The fate of an Inquisitor’s lambent ring and themselves are irrevocably entangled, for one may not fully actualize their duty without the other. Inquisitors grow in power and wisdom through experiences, and it is often believed that as the Ring is reflective of an Inquisitor’s soul should they try and nourish it with rich experiences and stalwart service. 

 

Flame-growth naturally happens over-time for Inquisitors have been connected and under the tutelage of a [T5] TA, with tier progressions actualizing should they be taught the required spells for that tier. 

 

The main turning point for an Inquisitor lies at Tier 4 where they are required to present a proof of service in the form of either an Event or a character CA considered “Doomed” by the Sacre Induicatum being cleansed and rendered into dust by Immaculate Invocation: Absolution. Once this is satisfied the Inquisitor is expected to make a pilgrimage, with or without his instructor, to the Immaculate Tower so that this proof of service may be presented before the Immaculate Flame for his final ordination as they are fully bestowed Tahariae’s greater holyfire, his greatest boon.
