My event persona slot held the Vortician line for as long as he could, drafted into the battlefield to push people off a cliff. 😔

I think these last few fights were examples of how enjoyable war can actually be for both sides when taken with stride and friendliness, rather than assuming people are out to get you or that being warred is the end of the world (in the least patronizing way possible). vortice has been nothing but forthcoming and willing to put up a fight, even when the odds were stacked against them, and they've earned the respect of a lot of people for doing so

ggs and take care, curious to see what you guys plan on doing next

So high enjoyment for the 3:1 outnumbering forces, which has OOCly been annoyed whenever PvP clicks has been cancelled, while little to no enjoyment from the heavily outnumbered forces, which doesn't enjoy PvP at all, doesn't want to touch it. o7 Understood, big respect for giving clicks to clickers, I guess. I suppose good for you to have 32 people have fun at the cost of 12 people. (disregarding those who didn't want the stress of PvP).

im not saying people aren't allowed to be sad or disappointed in losing a WC, just that relative to the behavior that's been displayed from other communities (which involved several bans), vortice took it far more respectable. I'm not being sarcastic or disingenuous here either, I don't get where the hostility is coming from

just to clarify I'm citing the words of bethinwonderland, who after ever fight has said they had fun and there were laughs in VC. if this turns out to not be the case then it's not something that im here to disprove or convince you to have fun with

nonetheless I'm sorry you feel that way and like I said I hope the vorticians find somewhere they can regroup. not here to clog the thread though so if you wanna dm me my discord is @fadeawayjade

I guess the war which didn't involve any bans for toxic behaviors remains singular (not this one -shrug-), But let's be honest, it was fun for one side. Not both. Happy stomping in the next war. :/

Lenora, having been stupid had gotten a bit too close to the edge of one of the ledges on the Cordus Academy's spire where the Vorticians had held their final stand. A stray arrow caught in her shoulder through the plates, this one action causing her to plummet. Down.. and down.. and down.. She had been in this position before. Her mind flashed to a memory of her stepmother Nami pushing her off their balcony in Talon's Grotto for she was too scared to jump into the ocean below. Only this time.. This time water had not been below to break her fall, instead she now faced green grasses and various plant life. By the grace of the spirits, her good arm caught one of the ladders the enemy had placed down to get up the massive pillar of earth. A few of the rungs broke from the momentum of her body as it jostled about, a hiss leaving her from gritted teeth as aches entered her body. The crossbow she carried didn't like the sudden change of speed, falling from her as it finished the dissent, smashing into bits below. She swung her feet onto the rungs so she could be stable.. Catching her breath with wide eyes. She felt like she was dreaming, then a war horn sounded above her.. She was, in fact, not dreaming. She was also in no state to continue the fight..

By some miracle, the ladder she found herself upon was in the blind spot of the scouts that had been around.. Or maybe from the distance they assumed she was someone on their side? Regardless, she made her way down, every time her shoulder moved she winced in pain.. The arrowhead felt like a knife that kept going in deeper, or at least that is how it seemed. Once on the ground, she hid for some time in the bushes. Ever the medic, she opened her satchel, and pulled out some blissfoil salve, removing the plates and the arrow, placing the medicine on it as blood poured forth. With the pain numbed, she gave herself an Aekzo blessing. Thankfully the spirits heard her call, allowing her flesh to knit back together and all the other pains from the past few minutes faded away.. She did her best to put her shoulder plates back on and stayed hidden... Till the battle was lost, much to her dismay.

I was given the okay from staff to say that Lenora lived to see another day! Even though I did pop after the fall, thank you to whoever you are. Thank you for seeing me and not reviving me, downing me, and killing me. Without you, this rp piece wouldn't have been possible! xD

I want to state that the war was not "fun" on both sides, it was rather stressful for the Vortice community... As well as the other communities that fell before we did. While I agree that the stretch of Vortice battles was the least toxic out of the lot, my group still faced a lot of toxicity from the "other" side.

I personally believe the reason it wasn't as toxic in this part of the war is because everyone was mostly.. just done by the final stages and the cards were stacked too high for the house not to fall. The only real option we had was to fight, as diplomacy wasn't offered to us.

With that in mind, we had small victories like changing our names before battle. We started off with themes, but then it was just to make the others smile. Giving small pep talks, and having the respect to not force mutes because if someone needed to speak, it was most likely important news to say. Sharing how proud we were that with each battle we seemed to last just a bit longer!

I tried my best to have things taken on the chin and hold our heads high.
I look forward to what our next steps are, may they be had in peace, and remember to be kind to each other, please, and thank you
