On the Seventh Alcalde Assembly, and My Retirement

The following is the speech I gave at the end of La Dorada's Seventh Alcalde General Assembly, my last event as Alcalde of Hyspia's Capital. If all goes as I hope, many will come after me and continue the traditions and precedents I have formed during my time in office, I wish them the best. I will be watching on and cheering with my fellow citizens, watching my beautiful city grow more vibrant daily.

"If there are no more petitions from the assembly, I think it's about time me and my hermano [referring to Diego], make an announcement. We have served this beautiful City for 8 years now, overseen construction projects, revitalized our education system, renewed law, and overheard petitions from 7 consecutive Alcalde Assemblies." - "I know I speak for myself and my Vice-Alcalde when I say we are immensely proud to have served you all that time. But, of course, as was always the case - our term had to end. I have chosen, with the Soberana's advice, to end our tenure today, in line with our Census. As of the dismissal of this assembly, I will no longer be your Alcalde. I recommend you all participate in the voting of my successor, whoever they may be, and give them all the respect and support you've shown me." - "To my Vice-Alcalde [turning to Diego] Hermano, you have gone above and beyond. I could not ask for a better colleague and partner. Every day you prove to me that I made the right choice bringing you along with me. [turning to the Assembly] And to the people of La Dorada - continue pushing to improve this city, to bring out its beauty, to resolve your petty disputes, and to live in unity and collaboration."- "Viva Hyspia! Viva La Dorada! [the crowd echoes this chant, some chant "Viva Dante" and "Viva Diego"] With that said - for the last time - this Assembly is concluded, and you are all dismissed."

Thank you all, and a special thanks to:

  • My wife, Ser Cirilla "Fangbreaker" Fontesar
  • The Sovereigns Xiomara  I and Julian I de Pelear
  • My Vice-Alcalde Diego Zafrios
  • The Princesa Valencia Belen de Pelear
  • El Señor Tomas Salazar
  • and to the Bishop of Altamarino, Andrikev
for always showing me support and respect.
VIVA HYSPIA, VIVA LA DORADA
SIGNED,
His Lordship, SEÑOR Dante Fontesar, Witness to the Wolf, First Alcalde of La Dorada

[!] The Lady Fontesar shrouded in Dante's office where a fat cat adorning a white coat with black spots rested on Dante's desk. "Beast." Cirilla spat towards the animal, who was happy to purr along at the scattered papers that now seemed to be straightened "I think he will miss this point of our lives." Cirilla spoke to the feline. The Serpent-Knight then sighed giving into insistent purring and petting the cat known as 'Beast'

"He, they, were more than we could ever hope or pray for as first Alcaldes," Xiomara poured over the missive, and even went as far as to frame it. A memento. "May the next be able to follow in their footsteps."
