The now King-Emiritus Ser Julian de Pelear stood on the banks of the badlands, watching with a growing dread as the ship sailed away carrying his wife to far away lands. Water lapped at the shore, slowly rising and falling in gentle crests, and he felt his heart constrict in a rarely felt loneliness. Tomas was gone. Cirilla was gone. And now, his wife Xiomara, was gone.

He hoped she would return from her travels soon. For now, he turned back towards the city with conviction flooding his being.

War was upon them, and he would be there for anything his daughter, the new Queen, needed.

“Long Live The Queen, and Long Live Xiomara the Golden.” Anacleta smiled sadly, before tucking away the missive and turning to the giant pile of papers on her desk. “Time to get to work…”

Leomonte, would look at the missive with a sense of melancholic pride, for he came up with this generation of Hyspia. Though one thing is for certain, he would give a poke to his daughter and tell her the truth, "Xiomara 'the Golden'? No mija.... She should be known as Xiomara the GREAT!"

“Oh, sweet Xio…” Esfir recalled the youth of her goddaughter bittersweetly. She had done so much, so young, and though the d’Arkent knew much of Xiomara’s struggles, there was a surge of pride she felt for the Queen-Emeritus. “How proud vyr mamej would be. Godan knows vy have earned vyr retirement.” With a fond smile, she penned a letter to Xiomara.

"Find the peace that you deserve, Queen Xiomara. You always sought the best for your people, and for that I must offer unwavering respect," King John II declared upon reading the missive. But he did not dwell, for the world was to change and there was much still to do.

Viscount Fontesar sighed, his hands grasping the missive that had found its way to him that same morning. "Oh my friends, Hyspia will never forget what you have done for our people. You were always so focused, so intent on being good leaders - even when we were children." The Grand Chancellor wiped a tear from his face, "Trust that I will serve just as dutifully, that I will do everything in my power to keep this nation just as alive as you leave it now. If your daughter allows, I will do everything in my power to help." The man sighed, stepping back from his desk, "My only hope now is to see you again someday, especially with all that is coming."

This was a bittersweet moment for Amarantha, while the morning proceeding the missive- And by extension the abdication of her parents, was naturally a hectic one.. But of course she had her best friend Anacleta by her side, assisting her. The young Queen was filled with feelings of both pride, and nervousness as she took over the reigns of the Kingdom at only eighteen; She was finally free from everyone constantly telling her what to do and where to be, for she was now Queen.. While she was happy to perform her duty to her Kingdom, and to her madre after having seen her health deteriorate over the years, her heart did ache as she silently watched her mother's departure. "I love you mama, even given all the issues we had growing up.. I will make you proud." She spoke from an indistinct tower in the palace, reading the letter left for her several times over.

"Rest well, Xio. You have earned that much." A tired Ker proclaimed, laying down the missive in his hands.  "The world was not the kindest to you, but you truly were a light upon it. Please do find your peace." Arvel stowed the missive away, "You worked so hard, from the day you took the throne, all those years ago.. I will do my best to watch over what you have built."

"May peace favor the Golden Queen. She has not clung to power, but she has played her role and handed it off so she may rest and enjoy her life. Her hospitality and generosity to my people in our time of need shall NEVER be forgotten. Ave Hyspia, Ave Xiomara. The Salvians shall never forget your generosity, and our hearth be open to you and yours from now till time's end." States Lord Peter Rovare, of the Salvians, and the Oakenwald, to no-one in particular, though he does send a guarantee of safe passage and hospitality to the Queen-Emeritus. He then slumps back in his chair, looking to the seat where his heir would one day sit, wondering if he would do as the Queen had and relinquish his grasp when the time came.

"Rara, are you sure this is the right call? We'll all need your wisdom in the coming years."

"Si, Nana," she moved to hug Valencia. "I trust my mija to handle herself and the kingdom. Especially with everyone that is with her."

The former Princess-Royal hugged her back tightly with tears filled in her eyes "Promise you'll write me?"

"Of course I'll write hermana" she kissed her left then right cheek "I'll see you down at the ship for a proper goodbye. I have to finish packing."

Once that ship had set sail, the Hyspian Princess excused herself so she might have proper time to grieve the loss of Julieta.
During this time, she read the letter she was left "I'll try hermana.. I'll try" the note was held close to her chest as she took a deep breath, "Por favor.. Dios guide us. Bless my sobrina with wise choices.. and allow my hermana peace in your skies"
