Josh3738 3137 Rep Farm Share Posted April 2, 2025 Project A-Name Announcing the REAL 10.0 Map Development While just about everything from the April Fool’s post was for laughs, the development of our next map (and the Zion/Mordor biomes) wasn’t! Warning: This video contains flashing lights. Since we began development back in October, a ton of work has been put into planning, designing, and putting together a yet-to-be-named map that we’re very excited for. The worldpainting, done in-house by @River, is complete and we’re in the process of finishing filling out the map with tons of unique assets done by a curated list of staff builders. A special shoutout to @Fimlin who spearheaded the map design, biome concepts, and asset creation. There’s a LOT to explore, but I’ll mention some of the most notable features. It’s been a thing in minecraft for years, but this will be the first LotC map to feature custom biome colors which have been hand worked into every single biome. On top of that, many of the biomes will have customized weather events and special effects thanks to a new plugin by @Crunchiest_Leaf. Nation and Lair Tile Selection for 10.0 As with prior map transitions, tile selection for the next map will be ordered relative to your groups’ activity over the last couple of months with the most active nations going first. Myself, @Llir, and the implementation folks have been reviewing activity numbers and discussing contributing factors, such as the world war, and we’ll be reaching out accordingly over the next week or two to bring nation leaders onto the build server to fly around and choose. Also, we’re aiming to give nations more time to build this map, since the 6 week period last map was far too short. Expect around 3 months of time to work on your builds. Similar to nations, lair activity numbers have been reviewed by the above folks and @squakhawk.
