Whilst there is more issues than just this when it comes to pvp on lotc, bringing back buckler would put the longbow/crossbow back into a more balanced state. There really isnt anything you can do when you get tagged 2-3 times by a longbow, you heal too slow and without the buckler thats just not fun to play against.

they should add more to surge in these aspects cause normal shields do nothing asides vanilla shield, but costs more, whereas bucklers have an actual ability, and are cheaper

Add a way to destroy iron gates with a battering ram / TNT deployable while you are it to avoid annoying fort gaming where people run around for 60 minutes wasting their time which only enables toxicity

I talked with a few folks about PVP and they all had varying opinions on the meta and what would/wouldn't work. Bucklers included

More importantly tho... I think I'm the only staff that ever bothered to ask the PVPers what works and what they like

I agree we need the buckler back, I dont like relying on bows that opt to glitch half the time in real war claims. Besides bows already have the advantage of being fired from defensive positions constantly. There isnt really any disadvantage towards people that arent good at PVP if the buckler is back considering the BLOB is the decisive action

 

I also agree with @Lenny, like, we live in a world where massive fireballs can destroy towns, but literally every gate is invicible? Climbing inside shouldnt be the only option, gates should be generally able to be forced into irply and during pvp both, I dislike deeply how your only option is /break three iron doors (and modreq because most of the time its not three doors) or a ladder crate when all this magic and other unmagical ways exist to breach a gate
