Almighty God, we beg Thy clemency: be pleased to check these heavy rains and show unto us a cheerful sky. We beseech Thee, O Lord, that all spiritual wickedness may be driven away from Thy house, and that the fury of the storms that now beset it may pass away. Amen.

CLARIFICATION

Let it be known throughout all the lands of Canondom that our most August Emperor Hadrian has seen fit to spare the Holy Mother Church the yoke of a through caesaropapism installed candidate for the Pontifical Throne. And instead, mindful of the justice of our Lord, the God of his father Horen, whose Spirit through council is ever at work within His Church, decided to give the Mother Church leave to tend to its own affairs as is proper.

And that knowing this, I, Godfrey Bishop St. Rhosyn, do see fit to by my spiritual authority, in the absence of a College of Cardinals, or any kind of higher authority remaining in this period of SEDE VACANTE, call forth an ECUMENICAL COUNCIL that is to be chaired by myself to see to the election of a new High Pontiff that shall serve the good purpose of bridge-builder the proper way. After which, should the Lord by His mercy and our Pontiff-Elect allow it to be so, there shall be room to discuss and vote on a myriad of other issues. Provided they do not brazenly go against Holy Tradition.

Thus it is that all priests that would heed the call to serve God (provided they meet the requirements requested of them in the next section) are summoned to THE IMPERIAL PALACE in about two months time. Where we shall sit in council and decide upon the future of our Mother Church.

Let it likewise be known that the Emperor has been requested to guard the proceedings and agreed. And that any disturbances will likely be met with the full force of the Imperial Dragonknights. Be warned, therefore, not to cause trouble.

REQUIREMENTS

Being mindful of it that it has been an issue that priests spring up out of the woodworks during important encounters such as these, it has been afforded any and all priests, provided they are not of bad character, may vote, should they have met some requirements by the time the Council is to commence. Namely that they must send a LETTER to MYSELF with their NAME and ORDINATION HISTORY. Which shall then kindly be studied and run through what records yet remain and confirmed. Which I think is simple enough.

LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SENT SUCH A LETTER MY WAY  BY THE TIME THE COUNCIL IS TO COMMENCE

Again, therefore, it is stressed: SEND ME A LETTER WITH YOUR NAME AND ORDINATION HISTORY BEFORE THE COMMENCING OF THE COUNCIL.

And have it signed. This is very important.

Let it also be clear that, in the absence of a proper Diet of Bishops, and the College of Cardinals, for both of these have been wrecked into the ground over the years for reasons surely only God knows, the voting process for the position of High Pontiff shall involve all of the priesthood present.

In the courtroom, both the Emperor and the Bishop confer in their words; a statement is made, though it remains private to only both Hadrian and the priest. Unfortunately, none would hear of the threat made, unless spoken to by the Bishop himself.

Let it be known, then, that during the course of the election, should any priest vote against Father Valentin, you shall standby for immediate orders with the sway of my gauntlet. 

 

Argelion, I am letting you know beforehand because the same slugs that did nothing are attempting to gain power once again the moment I have rooted out the problem. I am only allowing a ‘conclave’ to ensure Valentin’s legitimacy, for both the sake of my son, and for the sake of the Empire.
