THE EMPEROR OF AZURAS

The Leal Magrave of Schwyz read the annals of a great historian to his family around the fire. "They Plunder, they Butcher, they ravish and they call it the lying name 'Empire'. Ubi solitudinem faciunt, pacem appellant." He spoke, a soft rasp in his voice, reciting the flexio with the precision of a well-tutored laymen.

"They make a desert, and call it peace."

The Margravine of Avistra heard the knock on her door. Postal had arrived, and inside the missive peeled from the stack of letters and papers.

Quietly, she sat at the fireplace and read. A nod of affirmation. "So it is. Ave Imperium."

An old imperial elfess, a humble Wayfinder adept in navigating the treacherous currents between Azuras and Aeldin, read the missive as she lounged by the docks of a ship getting ready to embark on a long voyage to another continental empire beyond.

"I never thought I'd see the day where the lands of the descendants were made one," The Wayfinder remarked to her mechanical dog, a creature that had built in the form of a Waldenian Shepherd which quietly listened to her.

"You've got to admit that for all of this Hadrian guy's brutality, he's accomplished just about everything that the human emperors have ever dreamed of since I was a youth during the time of Godfrey's Empire. Speaking of which, I wonder what he would have thought of this? I'll bet he'd be overjoyed. I do know that his son Silas, at least, would have been delighted to have seen the fall of Urguan. And George, Oliver, and Farley would have all been happy as well," She mused, adjusting a gasket behind the dog's ear with a screwdriver.

"Humans can do great things when they are united as one. They've always been stronger together, and that's a fact. The only question is, what with the children of Horen do with their newfound power? Will they embrace their brothers as their partners, or treat them as their slaves? I do hope that it is the former, and that whatever they choose to do, it is something constructive."

Upon finishing, she pet the automaton's head and added, "After all, what is it that the ancient VonSchlichtens used to say? To innovate is to be human? They would have known, being one of the oldest human families. And frankly, this continent could use some innovation, so I do hope that the lords of this empire will have crafted something out of the cinders of this broken world by the time that we return."

And with that, the bell of the ship they were destined to board rang out, signaling for all who were waiting to embark on the journey that awaited them. The time was ripe to guide another group unto the lands beyond, but the Wayfinder knew that she would be back eventually.

She could only wonder how the continent might potentially change by the time that she, who had witnessed most of modern human history, had returned...

The Witch King seethed within his fortress, his forces pushed back by the frankly astounding masses of imperial forces. Thankfully, the empire did not have the resources, nor the acute desire to engage in a prolonged siege in the most frozen northern citadel of the Black Sepulcher; such a campaign would undoubtably bring a great cost of lives to engage with. So for now, the Witch King merely plotted for the inevitable time to which he may strike out once more with his forces.

"Horen was the first man, and he will be the last." murmured the An-Gho as he passed amber prayer-beads through his fingers, plumes of incense rising from the shrine before his seated form.

Morbid yet amused is the Elsaner of Iryalen's laughter, handing over the decree to the Eliheiuhii.

"Did they have to actually forge your signature to this? Even when they proclaim victory they must lie about their alliances to do so."

Bon'Ox rubs his hands - finally the war is over & he can once more travel in the mortal realm, without being under the threat of a sword for his appearance.
FINALLY - the people will just be regular, normal racists again.

Witold-Leszek sets out to explore the Empire the Emperor has given him to chip away at his Knight's Quest. The boy clasps his hands in prayer for the Emperor's good health and smiles as he rides through the nation where sun never sets.

Within a modest home on the outskirts of the Commonwealth, an ancient human rolls his eyes at word of the Emperor's boasting. "It may be official today, but we've lived knowing this would happen for decades. Each domino fell neatly in line. There was no stopping it on the way, anyone with eyes could see that." Theodore says to his grand-nephew rather...plainly, surprisingly. "Maybe if Rigoberto was worthy of the Seven Skies, he smiles down at this Empire - for he is one to blame for its earliest rising back in Aevos." Now that, that was said with some detestation. "Now comes the real trouble." he begins again, turning back to his stack of papers. "There are no enemies on the outside left to fight, no matter how badly those bandits of Salvo want to think they are. If people think that the Imperial line will end its need for violence and conquest here, they are as foolish now as they have been the past century. Soon, one of the vassal realms shall be forced to burn. For if they cannot have the blood of foreign enemies, they shall set ablaze the innocents of this Empire for the sake of claiming some fame beyond Tiberius and Hadrian. And there's damn near nothing we can do to stop it anymore." The Grand Speaker's quill pauses at that sentiment, and the old man stares down at his transcripts for a long moment. "I pity the youths of tomorrow. For they shall not know a world of greater freedoms and heightened cultures. They shall know only the dragon's wrath. What a shame for them all."

Meanwhile, a much younger Lukas von Theonus speaks aimlessly at his nearby kin as the news spreads through the Theonus manor. "Zhe var is over, zhe Emperor has gotten vhat he wanted. From what Ich heard of both him und zhe Tar some months ago, neither men seem to think zhey vill live much longer, or at least not rule. Let us hope zheir sons hold onto zhe peace won by zheir fathers."

In Caurost, a young Elf woman bows her head to the statue of the Dragon Erudite in Caras Sol. A murmured prayer is offered - to the High Prince, to the Emperor, and to her ancestors. "May the coming years be kind to the peoples of Azuras. May the Children of Malin continue to find prosperity under Horen's own Empire. May my leaders' hearts be pure, their words honorable, and their actions dignified. For the Age of Man comes now, the first time in my life. Let those older than I guide me through this era, for they have lived through such before, and their wisdom, cunning, and strength has brought them this far." With a silent send-off, Mya'sae shuffles off back to her dwelling, to continue her practices of the simple trades so that she may prove her worth in the City of Solitude once and for all.

I know I bitch in all of these posts, cuz yknow....empire's had its effects on all my characters, but like....I DO genuinely find it interesting to see a worldwide empire on this server, and I'm truly looking forward to some spicy roleplay over the next several months now that there's no foreign realms to truly conquer. Will the Darkspawn become a greater problem? Will th Dwarves truly live within the mountains? Will the next generation of leaders change the greater tone of realm leadership? I live to find out.

With arms splayed to hug the sunrays that heralded in the first dae of HADRIAN I as EMPEROR of Azuras was it that one of his Dragon Knights, Noiye wept openly. The war is won, and rest of lyfe was now hers to spend as reward.

"
AVE IMPERIUM! AVE HADRIAN!"

It wasn't long after a terse, but honest audience with the Imperial Crown Prince that Galahad would revisit this proclamation with more consideration than before. As Emperor Hadrian is to Mankind, King Kairn once was to the Elves. For all of the right reasons, they were monarchs both feared and revered, yet would go on to usher an age of prosperity for their people the likes of which only witnessed in dreams.

Ever closer, the Mantle of Malin.

A Qalasheen Imperial Dragon Knight looked upon the proclamation, He remembered when Hadrian, before taking most official duties was just a prince, it was him who Assigned him and made him a Squire in the Order. It was this man, whom weakly, yet cunning, That conquered The world. It was within this realization, As he stood beside his Emperor on the Throne, The Throne which now conquered the world, that made him see; From a starved Badawi in a refugee tent torn, To A Imperial Dragon Knight tasked to defend the Emperor of Azuras. . . That if you help a man climb a mountain, You to will be there with them when you gaze upon the world at it's peaks. He could only then, Go into Sajdah, In Prostration next to the Emperor, In thanks to Allah, for granting such stability to the world through their hands, honoring them in such a way. Surely This conquest and gain of Hadrians, was granted to him due to his allowing his Qalasheen subjects, to do the act of worship that Sir Zubayr 'Sandsworn' was partaking in just now.

Ave Imperium.

The Cardinal Nerium of Malinor sent the Emperor @Werew0lf of Azuras a short scroll. Within was simply writ, "You missed a spot." And beneath was a map. Only, it was not so much a map, as it was a chart of the night sky, and all the stars yet to taste the exquisite ecstasies of faith and order.  Beyond the oceans of night were hundreds, if not thousands of realms inhabited by ignorant, wasted worlds secretly yearning for the manifestation of destiny.
