Citizens of the Crownlands intent on understanding the processes of the two assemblies should read the Lex Imperialis and the Ordines Imperii decrees in full.

✠ THE BURGHERRAAD ✠

 

The Burgherraad, serving as the lower legislative assembly of the Empire, shall comprise thirteen seats. These seats are reserved for lowborn citizens or nobility not represented in the Landsraad, and shall be filled by election of the citizens of the Empire. The following districts and vassals are recognized for active service and civic participation, as recorded in the Imperial Census. Eligible residents of each area may stand as candidates or vote for representatives of their district.

 

The allocation of seats shall be as follows:

ELECTORAL PROCESS

 

✠ All candidates must read the regulations regarding the Ordines Imperii in full, found on the final pages of this proclamation. Candidates who do not follow the rules shall be ineligible for the ballot. 

 

✠ The campaign period for the Burgherraad shall begin upon the promulgation of this notice. Nominations will close on the evening of Aurelian's Glory [Saturday, the 11th, at 5:00 PM EST]. Voting shall open on Harren's Folly, and shall close on Horen's Calling [Wednesday, the 15th, at 5:00 PM EST]. Elected candidates will be notified by public notice thereafter.

 

✠ All candidates must live in the district they seek to represent, be over the age of eighteen, be in good standing with the Empire and the Church, not be members of a noble house represented in the Landsraad, have rendered all taxes due, and not be under writ of banishment or excommunication.

But the hard work eventually paid off, and the wretched war against the dwarves gave me the opportunities necessary to progress within the Army.
