OOC: Dont worry. This is going to be an OOC thing I believe. I want to make sure it is since some things would not fit in character. Like me hating Darrian since he is a druid but when we are friends.

So it will most likely be ooc. Glad for the opinion Haelphon.

This was my idea:

PS: I lost all the wood I had gathered (and all my stuff) because of the new monster buff. :(

So I have a good idea and layout for what we will be building.

Blargh.png

Basing off of that diagram that I threw together, here is what I think we should do. We should go along with the idea of a respectably sized tree with a trunk that splits at the bottom, forming a gate, which will be the entrance to the current city. In front of this entrance will be like a little roundabout/donut thing, and around it will be more big trees, but not as big as the gate tree. These smaller yet still big trees will serve as the homes for wood elves and high elves, and maybe also dark elves IF we go along with the dark elves living in the sunken roots of these trees. There should be at a maximum five or six trees around the circle.

There can then be paths (which I didn't draw) branching off of the circle that lead to other "neighborhoods" of trees. These areas will bring the races so close together that they are LITERALLY on top of each other, not to mention that this idea saves a lot of space considering that there are three good-sized homes in the place of one. ((It may seem that everyone would be a high elf so that they could live in the top of the trees, but each home has its advantages and disadvantages.))

Pros and Cons-

High Elven Home (Top of Tree)-

Pros- Top of tree allows a nice view of the surrounded area, and branches and leaves allow individual floors with more area.

Cons- Highest point means it takes the most time to get to the home, which means it also takes the most time to get down to the ground from the home, and the abundance of leaves at the top leads to less places to place furniture and necessities such as beds, chests, and torches.

Wood Elven Home (Tree Trunk)-

Pros- Takes least amount of time to get in and out of the home, since the entrance is at ground level, and the abundance of logs in the trunk leads to more places to place furniture and necessities.

Cons- Cramped space in the trunk leads to individual floors with less area than the other two homes, and the abundance of logs leads to little variety material-wise in the home and makes it more dull and less spicy (cause variety is the spice of life...)

Dark Elven Home (Sunken Tree Roots)-

Pros- Seclusion under the roots leads to secrecy and decreased chance of getting robbed by bandits, which also gives the dark elves privacy which they highly value, and it also takes a very short period of time to enter the home because the entrance is at or slightly below ground level.

Cons- Little sunlight will be able to enter the home, and the abundance of logs will lead to little variety and make the home more dull.

Afterthoughts-

If it is decided that we aren't going to use the dark elven home sunken in tree roots, or if anyone has any other ideas for homes, I will add them to the pros and cons list. Also, it is preferable that the trees are grown from oak saplings ((aka made from oak logs because the leaves will be made using oak saplings, and it would be weird if the leaves had leftover oak log remainders if the tree itself was made outof redwood)). Tell me your ideas and opinions about this and I'll change/scrap what is needed or not needed.

Great idea, I think there sould be little homes too, for the people that don't have much money.

By the way Can't we use lift- signs for the high-elven homes, it would be much easier.

I like the idea. Make sure when we start to give it to the GM's that are helping so they can understand what to do.
