Reconstruction of Laurelins Front Gates!

Using the book, I have constructed a quick model of what could be a family sized house for dark elves. It includes moderately high windows, it's made of materials that don't overly stand out, and it has a rug and a fireplace for aesthetics. Here are my drawings:

Also, I earlier drew what was a wood elf home inside the trunk of one of the great trees that are common in Laurelin. Why not have the high elves live up to there names and have them live high at the top of the tree, inside the leaves? This saves space and also promotes a bond between the wood elves and high elves, while both races still keep a decent amount of privacy. Tell me what you think of this idea.

Make it with more leaves friend. Needs to fit in with the other homes.

Also I think its a good idea for them to move closer together. But I think that should work with the Dark Elves aswell. Since most Dark Elves seem to have a distaste for there kin.

Ok, well I allowed some leaves to grow on the roof, and some vines to grow on the walls, so I hope the home now has the desired look you were hoping for.

Also, if I haven't mentioned it yet, this house should be the maximum size house to be constructed, because this is designed to be a home for around two or three dark elves. Most dark elves will probably look to settle in individual homes, so I plan on making them not as big as this house here.

I think it needs more unrefined wood. Sorry for all the work friend but it has to fit in with other homes in the city. Like maybe replace the planks with real wood? Darkwood perhaps? then i think it would be good.

I don't intend to build, I shall aid in the construction by donating materials and perhaps with helping to refine the overall look with input and my thoughts about how it looks but my character does not consider himself a competent builder nor do I personally enjoy building community projects as sometimes visions differ between people and, admittedly, I am a control freak haha.

The two trees incorporated into the gate design is merely a suggestion as to what I think might look good. I've played on the server practically since its public release and spend a majority of my time in Laurelin. Not to mention as the Caretaker of Laurelin and a Prince of Malinor I think I have a pretty good idea as to what is in keeping with the theme of the capital city. And it does seem that Native is in agreement with me about the idea.

You may or may not take my idea into consideration, but as this shall act as the main gate of the capital, you should keep in mind that it should first and foremost reflect the Elven architecture precedence set by High Prince Native and the sensibilities of Elves. The Elves are of nature and thus the building style should include elements of this, which I'm sure you're aware of already.

In any case, I'm sure whatever is decided upon, the end product will look wonderful. I look forward to watching its construction and wish everyone the best of luck.

Though it is quite late, I have an opinion. I believe we should not put our efforts into creating this magnificent new gate. As you may know, a wizard, opened up a portal. This portal, may in fact, lead to a new world. I have settled there with a few Wardens, and know I would like to believe, that the "Verge" might be a chain, to another magnificent whole continent! I also believe, that the gates are just as beautiful as any others, and are great and magnificent as is. I believe we might be wasting precious materials at the time, just on looks for a new gate, when, if you think about it, we simply do not need one. Well, that was my opinion basically. Thankyou for reading it.

Your opinion is noted elven brother. Its just that Laurelin is beautiful, but doing this will make it more beautiful. Im also sure that we, all together can put in resources to benefit Laurelins grand entrance. When you think about it, you can see how little populated Laurelin is, well it isnt low populated but it hardly has its residence walking around. If we show off our gate it can lead to a whole new entrance of possibilities for new elves to come and stay.

I have also settled in the verge on the Malinor settlement. It is a great place but I can handle both jobs. I was thinking of this when i first moved there but I got over it and aimed for my goal for Laurelin.

Again your opinion is noted, like everyone elses.
