*You approach the message board at the main gates of Laurelin. You notice a note pinned to the board and you begin to read.

Hail, my fellow elves. As you all know, the undead are becoming stronger and getting closer to Malinor. As time becomes shorter, the need for soldiers becomes greater. A while back, the Wardens left Malinor without a military force. Then the Vanguard was created to protect the walls of Laurelin and then becoming the only military force that Malinor has to offer. Unfortunately, the Vanguard does not have a sufficient amount of soldiers for them to be called an army.

Now, at this moment, while you read this note, I am calling to you... to all of Malinor. To stand in battle as a Vanguard. For it is clear, that the Undead will soon be at our doorstep. You are needed, now more than ever, my brothers and sisters.

If you wish to become a Vanguard come to the base that is on the left side of the once guantlet. Meet me there or send me a bird. It would be greatly appreciated if you would join. Equipement will be provided.

Sincerely,

Amroth Elensar, the Magistrate of the Vanguard

((Msg covcath in-game to join.))

I once served under you...now you disgust me. I shall find other ways to help Malinor anything is better then serving under you.

Vanguard do not serve under me. They serve under the High Prince, Haelphon.

And the Royal Guard is something of the past. It served no importance and was a sham of a guard, but still if you wish to not join then that is fine, but find a way so that you may better Laurelin's chances of defending against the Undead.

In the end, does not matter who we serve under, or what our armies look like. What matters is knowing that if you shall die, then you will do so, defending your nation. Regardless of Race, Aegis will stand united in the final days, want it or not.

I served under the Royal guard loyally without any pay for nearly a year. Then the guard is called a sham and disbanded....I still have never been payed. By the way Amroth if I would join the guard I WOULD be one of your underlings once more. Rumor has it that your the High Magistrate now.

An addition is affixed with an arrow. You smell tobacco as you lean in closer.

The Vanguard would definitely appreciate your help in these times, if you're willing to help.

But...

Please, please, PLEASE use common sense when you act with us. I'm sick of finding new Scouts acting like Galahar guardsman. If I find you overstepping your power, I will personally crush you and smoke you through my pipe.

Excuse me for saying so, but I would like you to take on a full time job where you do not get paid and there for have almost no food. There were many nights when I went without food for the Princedom, so I believe I have the right to be angry at Amroth for disbanding me after all of that and top it off by not paying me.

*Vain read the note

Since the Royal Guard had no purpose, and I wasted my time. These, Vanguards. Could be the thing that can use my skills. Amroth, Vanguard, Malinor. You have my blade and bow.

Now to sent a letter to covcath.Amroth

Warden Glade Guard Distuth peered at the note, and its addition. With a sigh, he pulled the arrow from the wall, replacing it with a sharp chunk of obsidian to ensure the addition remained stuck.

"People these days. Wasteful. Bah."

He took a closer look at the note, then, with an angry snort, turned away from the letter. Left Malinor. Pah. They'd never had the chance to. And Distuth had a good idea who'd been responsible for that. They'd decided to given Indelwehn one last chance, before they left for good. Shortly after the decision, Wardens had started to vanish. Some foul work had been at play, and Indelwehn must have been at the heart of it. And now her little toy soldiers were trying to blame the Wardens for desertion? Unacceptable. But there was little he could do, as of yet. Indelwehn might no longer be high princess, but now was hardly the time to seek answers. But perhaps he could set things in motion. He'd been overlooked in whatever foul scheme had gone on. Perhaps, if he remedied that, the answers would come to him.

Distuth wrote out a small note, then, quickly checking for bystanders, stuck it to the note, next to the addition. It contained nothing but two lines on it:

The Wardens have not left Malinor. We will stand at its walls.

He left it unsigned, and walked away.

*mumbles under his breath*

The Wardens...phah.. They're no different than a militia now. Might as well disband.

You slander the wardens name so easily without acknowledging the years we served Malinor as its only military fighting valiently against the undead. All until the sudden disappearence of many of our members leaving us weak and small. True we left Malinor without a military but it was not by choice. Furthermore all remaining wardens still fight alongside the "vanguards" of malinor in the defense of our beloved forest

*Asyrian reads the note and runs to the headquarters of the Vanguards. After awhile of knocking and screaming Asyrian finally stops and writes a note and pin it up just next to the gate.

I have been walking day and night from the snowy north after recieving the horrible message that the undeads are attacking Laurelin. I have meet many dangers on my way. Bandits, beasts and undead servants are just some of them. My life as a peaceful lumberjacker would have impossible on the travel. I armed me'selve with a bow and a wooden sword and begin the long wander back to my homecity.

At my arrival I didn't meet any death, just a injuered people. They might have been injuered, but they didn't have a single fear in their eye.

I saw the note at the Laurelin message board, I'm now ready to fight and serve the Aegis people. I can provide not only wood but also my sword and bow in battle. Let me fight under the Vanguards.

- Asyrian, High Elf
