The City of Rienna

Why is your character starting this town? What is its purpose?

Rienna will be a city of merchants, businessman and entrepeneurs. It’s a free city right at the very heart of Asulon where no man, dwarf, orc or elf is tied down to the will of a king or queen. The city already has plans for several stores, a fully functional inn, bakery, restaurant, newspaper, a lottery and much more to come in the future. Rienna will be a welcoming site to any stranger wandering the desert and will be welcomed with open arms. But Rienna is much more then just a city of merchants. It is a city of peace. Rienna aims towards a neutral position between all nations not just for it´s trade but also for the very foundations of the city. Rienna was founded an o blooming Oasis in a large desert, a safehaven for all and Rienna strives to keep it so. For it´s central location with in Asolun and it´s neutrality towards other city´s and nation´s alike a large meeting hall is to be constructed within the walls of Rienna where 2 or more party´s of conflict can safely meet on neutral ground and in the proper care that Cloud Temple and it´s monks might lack.

Sting Surion is a businessman, from top to toe. He has several business ideas but need a good place to set them up. With him, Sting brings a big group of hardworking and dedicated friends that will help him to setup and take care of the town.

In time Sting believes this town can become an important part of the trade in Asulon. It will start off as a smaller town, housing his companions and friends, but will eventually grow into a wealthy city.

What has driven your town to become a city?

Sting and his friends always planned to become a city. As the fellowship has gotten so many supporters in a short time, we can't see any other way than to become a city this quick.

What do you see this city growing to become?

The City of Rienna will be a neutral city state that will flourish in trade and politics.

How will your town evolve to adapt to this growth?

We have an Inn for those who only fish to remain a few days. There will be housing for every citizen of Rienna and for every budget. Each district will feature it´s own unique housing with prices depending on the size, luxury and demand of the city.

What type of political system or leadership is within the town?

The town will use a merchant council as a political system. Each business will have one or two representatives that sit in the council, depending on the size of the business. Big decisions will be taken by the council, and disputes within the city will be taken care of through the council. There will also be one mayor, who has the power to break a tie. Except for that, he has just as much power in his vote as the other councilmen. He will also be the one distributing the word in council meetings.

What sort of behavior will residents exhibit? (Race relations, nation relations, etc.)

The town will be peaceful one, for all races to come to, even though the residents of the town have earlier grudges towards some. Regarding nation relations we will try to be as neutral as possible, not taking sides in wars.

Where would you prefer the town’s region be? Including a screenshot of the land would be nice (of game or map).

The town plot has already been placed, and that is in the first quadrant of the city. The full city coords are: x128 z137, x228 z137, x228 37, z128 37

Any other details (architecture, races, culture, etc):

The architectural design will be of rough Victorian, medieval style, with some twists.

Since Sting and his company are running a very successful inn and tavern, they are a very festive bunch of people that is very happy and enjoying life. No one should think a second time if they need a place to calm down at, to fill his stomach with good food and wine or listen to a good tale.
