Okay, now that you've had you fun with religion...

People might take you more seriously if you actually made some points, rather than copying and pasting something somebody else has written. The text you posted is the first thing that comes up when you google "flaws with evolution", and you haven't even bothered to change the formatting.

I give up. I honestly do. Goodbye, thread!

I salute you, sir. I may not agree with your beliefs but your defense of them was truly admirable.

Yes, if you count ignorance as admirable.

Yes, if you count ignorance as admirable.

Ignorance it may be, but you don't have to keep mocking him after he's admitted defeat. His viewpoint may be absurd to you and I but I'll be damned before I seek to deny him the right to shout it from the rooftops.

You try to get to another star when people still deny the Earth is 6,000 years old.

Or that 80% of people don't accept the scientifically accurate view of the world, believing in faith rather then evidence.

So I reserve the right so say 'You're an ignorant.'

Also, if he accepted defeat he would be converted. He is just frustrated at the absolute destruction science has over religion. I know it's a debate about evolution vs creationism, but even if evolution is right wrong|*, creationism is still stupid.

Actually, since it's my 2000th post, and I'm feeling brave...

It's ******* stupid.

I look at Creationism as some abstract synonym for evolution. Though it could have just literally been THAT stupid. I almost completely believe with what Space said.

Lol. I'm back again. I lost interest, but I need something to keep me occupied, so let me just give some responses here...

The earth may be six thousand years old. Nothing to disprove it. I personally don't believe that, but hey, we could all be wrong.

THERE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A SEPERATION BETWEEN FAITH AND SCIENCE. God gave us brains for a reason. What many neo-Christians and other faiths believe is that "science" is a perfectly logical way to view God's creations. It has done nothing to disprove creationism, only support that God has a wicked imagination.

There is no reason to say "You're an ignorant." It is rude, thoughtless, and gives the impression you have a greater knowledge of the world. Actually, you have a theory that he does not agree with. It is NOT established truth, it is a collection of ideas with supporting evidence. I would have thought someone as smart as you would understand that.

STAHP. Science and religion can go hand-in-hand. it is only close-minded people from both sides of the debate that refuse to acknowledge that. Science does not "destroy" religion. If anything, many scientific discoveries can be viewed as an observation of God's creation.

It's stupid? You just proved you are just as close-minded as conservative Christians in the midwest (I apologize in advance to any conservatives who may see this. I admire you for your faith, I just don't fully agree with some of you beliefs.).

We also don't like evidence against the FSM, or Allah, or the Buddhist ****, of the Voodoo ****. But you chose to believe in that? THAT'S NOT HOW SCIENCE WORKS. What's the difference between you saying 'There is a God and he is like they say in the bible' and me saying 'There is a magical lamp that is orbiting the Moon on the dark side and it controls everything.' NOTHING. If there is no evidence, the default position is disbelief. It is possible, but extremely unlikely.

IF YOU BELIEVE IN SOMETHING WITH NO EVIDENCE YOU'RE IGNORANT!

Ignorant:

the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information, etc.

Actually, sorry I'm wrong. You're stubborn. Or close minded.

Maybe idiot is too hanus, but you guys cut off part of your children's penis (generally), tell them that if they aren't perfect their going to be eternally punished. Can't you see how cruel that is? I have no respect for anyone who teaches their childern hate and tries to spread it to others.

Science and faith are completely different. With science, you need evidence and peer review and it WORKS! With religion, you need... faith. Nothing else. And faith, by definition, in DUMB,.

I'm not close-minded. I openly embrace the most likely, but not 100% truth. You are the close-minded one.

Just for clarification, what/who is/are the FSM? I've never heard of it.

I believe in a God, which had eyewitness encounters recorded in the Bible. I have evidence, you just blatantly disregard it and refuse to accept it as valid. There are ruins with the names of various people in the Bible engraved on them, there is a bloody tribe in India that was converted by one of the disciples, there are occurences of faith healing that actually work. Eyewitness accounts are not always best, nor are any historical records, but what makes Biblical records (most of the Old Testament is just that: a record of Jewish history) different from any record written by man? How do you know that William Wallace revolted against the English in 1297? It was almost a thousand years ago, and the only information about it we have is from collections of eyewitness accounts.

Your definition of "ignorant" means he does not have any knowledge of the theories you believe in. It has nothing to do with faith. I personally am fascinated with scientific progress, including adaptation, the conditions where life could adapt, Darwin's theory of evolution, etc. Being an "ignorant" implies that they are stupid for having such a faith, when in reality, there are a ridiculous amount of Christian scientists who made extreme breakthroughs in the scientific world. He isn't ignorant; he just doesn't believe what you believe.

"You guys"? Those are Jewish people, my friend. Never generalize religions. Besides, the removal of the foreskin actually makes the penis easier to clean, which helps prevent penile infection (a condition where the only treatment is the amputation of your balls), and makes your life a crapton easier. It was a demonstration of faith, just as Muslim women who willingly wear the hijab are showing a demonstration of their faith, but it was also a protection against losing your balls. It was healthy, and certainly wasn't a mutilation. It was done early so that the people wouldn't remember such an experience, because it is quite painful. Also, circumcision was part of the Old Testament, specifically the Jewish Book of Law, which Jesus told us was no longer needed. This includes the supposed hatred towards gays, misogynistic views, and the ban from wearing two types of fabric.

There is no teaching ever said in the Bible that says people have to be perfect to please God. You're watching too much CNN, which only covers radical Christians like Westboro Baptist. Those churchs have gone in the wrong direction, and they honestly give Christians a bad name. What Jesus says is that we aren't perfect, we never will be, but we should be compassionate, generous, loving towards others, and really just model ourselves after Jesus (#whatwouldjesusdo). Christianity is about divine forgiveness, not "perfection." It never has been and hopefully never will. Those churches that do preach such things, well, they need to stahp. They are no longer Christians.

Science and faith are NOT completely different! Science is not a thing, it is a concept, as is faith. Science is not a belief, either. Stop referencing science as a single thing, because it isn't. Please give me a single branch of scientific research that defies faith. I have always held the belief that faith and science can and should go hand-in-hand. Why can't we believe that magnesium sulfide exists and also believe that a God made the elements used in the creation of magnesium sulfide during the formation of the world? Science as a whole does nothing to disprove science. Also...

1

a : allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty

b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions

2

a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion

b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust

3

: something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs <the Protestant faith>

— on faith

: without question <took everything he said on faith>

I see no "dumb" in those definitions. So, by definition, it is not dumb.

I would have to say every person in this debate is close-minded. We firmly believe in a concept, and no matter how long we argue niether of us will be convinced the other is right. Yes, I openly acknowledge I am close-minded, because I don't accept other theories. You, too, are close-minded, because you refuse to acknowledge that I might be right.

I had a big long reply but I accidently exited, so.

Biblical accounts make supernatural claims. William Wallace (Which I'm not even sure existed) doesn't.

People put their names everywhere. Not only 1 person in 0 AD was named Leviticus, or Hasus, or whatever.

THAT'S WHY I SAID HE WASN'T IGNORANT, IDIOT. Why did I say that? I probably didn't mean to be so harsh. Love me still.

Read the bible. Your god is omnipotent and never wrong yet the bastard child of some peasent ***** who's lie to her husband got REALLY out of hand who is actually god says he is wrong? Wat.  YEP, BECAUSE CNN IS THE DEFAULT ATHEIST NETWORK. You're funny.

Science requires evidence, faith does not. Their completely different.

If I die and meet God, I will accept you're right. Atheists have evidence, religious people don't. But you don't accept the evidence.

Only Jews and Muslims circumcise for religious reasons, If I'm correct. And well, at least here anyway, the attitude is not that if you're not perfect you go to hell, but that hell is deserved for the really horrible people.

Many religions do it, that's not the point.
