VILLAGE CHARTER

MC Name:hosper

RP Name: Hosper_Blackthorn

Village Name: Fair Field

Why is your character starting this village/settlement? What is its purpose?

Hosper sits in his home in Tyr a once fine city which is now deserted with no life but himself he tries to wright a letter to the new leader of the Duchy of Norjun. He sits with his quill dipping with ink but he can’t think of what to wright on the parchment. The events leading up to this day were still horrifying for him. He thought back to when everything went wrong. In truth he thought it was the moment that the village of Fair Field picked up and moved to the land promised by King Renati.

It was a tough move for everyone but when they had finally arrived at this new land much to their dismay it was already taken. A grand manor stood where they would need to build. This angered Ursolon the true owner of Tyr he ordered that it be torn down at once so that progress could be made. This seemed as if the starting point of the citizen’s cruelty. They began thinking of none but themselves and everyone within the city seemed to grow truly power hungry. What happened next was almost too much to bear the leader of the city Ursolon was murdered within his own castle. This seem like a surprise to some more than others leaving a bit of a divide between citizens all suspecting the other was guilty.

After this the most obvious leader was appointed a man who no one could see having any part with the evil which infested the city a fine man known as Rale. Sadly the burden of running the city was too much for him he began to lose his memories and with them himself one day he just up and disappeared. Once he was gone Hosper took the role of caretaker hoping that soon Rale would return. This is when a disaster struck the whole realm the plague was upon all of them. Somehow Tyr was safe from the plague for the time being but it slowly crept towards the city. Most of the remaining citizens left to go find a safer place to live taking their families with them.

After Tyr was almost deserted a band of men came in and raided the city leaving much of it in ruins and belongings of all who remained stolen this drove the rest of the citizens out of the city. Still there was a hope Renatus claimed all of Seventis land and they were to send men to help rebuild Tyr but weeks went by and no sign of them leaving Hosper where he is not in a ruined city with nobody but himself to speak to.

He then thought of a better time where all the people lived together in harmony back when Fair Field was just a small village before it became a city. Ursolon, Rale, Nayln and him would sit near the river’s edge with a few fishing lines bobbing in the water watching the sun move overhead simply talking about what their hopes and dreams were unaware that many of their dreams would come true leaving them alone or worse dead. It was so simple just work for what you need and help the others within the village no need to declare war or conquer land just relax and enjoy what life had to offer. Hosper’s mind was rushing with excitement and purpose. He must bring back that place where many could live in harmony again where he could once again be happy. He walks over to the bird cages of Tyr sending letters to the original citizens of Fair Field welcoming them to come home to a nice warm loaf of bread and a comfortable place to sleep. He runs back to his home to gather the remainder of his supplies as he walks away from Tyr giving one final glance at its remains. He thinks perhaps someone else shall take on the challenge of caring for the city or perhaps it is best if the land returns to nature no good has come out of it. He walks off in the direction of old Fair Field with hope and love in his heart. Fair Field would again grow from the earth with its quaint homes and lush farms it would offer the community and friendship that it did back in the glory days of Seventis. Seventis may be gone but its lifestyle shall live on. Hosper quickly draws up a letter to send to the monks.FairFeild3copy.jpg

What type of political system or leadership is within the village?

There would be a council with one representative from each house hold who will have a vote in all decisions. There will always be a council head that will have two votes. Hosper will be the first person with this position. Of course council will have regular meetings but if a problem rises quickly them a emergency meeting will be held with there isn’t enough time for that the council head along with any council members readily available shall make the decisions.

What sort of behavior will residents exhibit? (Race relations, nation relations, etc.)

Within the village all who enter are expected to see all others as if their eyes are closed it shall be their actions and their words which will decide what is to be done with them not their appearance or race. Any racist behavior from a citizen or otherwise will have them thrown out of the village and the may not return for 3 elven days if repeated offences occur then they may be banished from the village. As for nation relations the village will try and stay neutral and not get involved in any conflicts unless it readily affects them or try evils are at work. This being said if the village is attacked then all who reside within it should be ready to help defend or treat the wounded. As the village will not have army other than the able bodied citizens.

Where would you prefer the town’s region be? Including a screenshot of the land would be nice (of game or map).

I would like to request that it be placed on the old Fair Field region as it makes the most sense. (Around -657,335 my computer won't upload right now)

Any other details (architecture, races, culture, etc):

It shall follow the architecture of the original Fair Field using much of the original lay out. As with the original Fair Field there will not be grand walls as to be honest they look really ugly. It will have small walls just big enough to stop monsters from entering the city harassing the citizens. Religion within the city is quite free but Hosper as a Cleric will not allow for worshiping the Iblees. 2012-05-26_193015.png

Normal Citizen's Home

Chief/Mayor's Home a little bit larger but not ridiculous.

What village adds to RP

The village due to its location will work as a kind of half way house for all of those new to LOTC it gives them a place to start and get roleplay experience. As such the village will have laws to help promote good rp such as no ooc in rp at all as it could be taken as talking about someone under your breath. As well it will be a place for those who have just left the cloud temple to stock up on supplies such as food and drink. In addition depending on how coming events go it could also be the home of the Clerics a small magic guild. Even if it is not their location a small chapel will be built to host services and weddings. All around it will be a layed back village with welcoming citizen who are ready to help at any time.

(( Fairfield would better if it were free of the rule of a nation. I support the move to rebuild on the old location, Hosper. ))

* Ulric Ironheart overhears a conversation about a new settlement named 'Fairfield' and he thinks to himself "That sounds familiar..." He then says outloud: *

"That is the name of my father's lost settlement! I must research this!"

(( Edit: Change the name to "Fairfield", make sure you spell it right :P ))

(( Sorry but I have to agree with Ursolon that it will be best if FairField isn't attached to a nation but thank you for the offer. Still at some point we could probably be allies or trade partners. As for the line of sight I think it will be some fun Rp just need to look into allies but all in due time. Thanks for your approval Ursolon I appreciated it.))

*Hosper reach the land with hope in his mind writes letters to the future citizens of FairField*

It seems that the monks see the enthusiasm for this settlement but land in their land is not cheap I have managed to raise half of the cost and am continuing to sell my stock pile of ores so it may take me a little while to raise all the money. So I am just sending this letter to inform you that the city may be delayed a few elven days after the monks consider our proposition.
