gingernut97 150 Share Posted August 4, 2012 I was just thinking to myself after having a discussion with Emeraldstag about dubbing Japanese anime and songs what does everyone else think? Personally I think that dubbing takes all of the emotion out of the song or anime, with anime when it becomes dubbed it becomes a meaningless pile of ****, such as when they releases Naruto and One Piece onto cartoon network or whatever it was. Numerous pieces were cut out and it was all dubbed over. Probably the only exception to this for me would be Black Lagoon. Whats your opinion Dub or Sub? argonian 14254 Share Posted August 4, 2012 I prefer dubbed if it's done well. I hate reading subtitles.
Cappy 1599 Share Posted August 4, 2012 I don't mind, really. Dubbing if it's done well or else subs.
Aren Whitestorm 65 Share Posted August 4, 2012 I prefer subtitles, I like how the original japaneese voice-over sounds.
Secret Lizard President 313 Share Posted August 4, 2012 Now, I will honestly say that professional dubs are quite well, but I've heard some really badly done ones before too. Naruto, in my opinion, has awesome dubs as well. Overall, I say stick with subs over dubs.
rukio 8924 Share Posted August 20, 2012 Subbed all the way, Fruits Basket really made my opinion on this. Besides, with subbed I always leave it feeling like I wasn't reading, but hearing it spoken in how I was reading. Maybe I'm just odd like that, but I enjoy the original voices. Ahahaha I really messed that up. I got them backwards. D:
Romulo 7 Share Posted September 7, 2012 Reading subbed doesn't bother me at all, it not difficult. But when a dub is done nice I would rather watch it dubbed. Like FMA, or Samurai Champloo, they are nicely done.
Neri 3590 Share Posted September 7, 2012 Some original japanese soundtracks have far too many... girl noises for my liking. It's only in some animes where the girls cannot go two seconds without making some disturbing and overtly sexual noise. Perhaps I just watch those kinds of animes? I also prefer dubbed if i'm tired, since it's annoying reading subtitles.
lιoɴ 248 Share Posted September 8, 2012 Subbed. Dubbed aren't always up to date and the voice actors are just.. meh. In my opinion, Naruto, was done VERY well on dubbed. But things like Fairy Tail.. no.
Jon Evaglno 202 Share Posted September 8, 2012 I prefer subbed. Dubbed usually just has some less-than-great voice acting.
CraftPrime 35 Share Posted April 12, 2013 I don't mind either way. Dubs if they're available, and if not, then subs. They both have bad points to them, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the show.
Watyll 1104 Share Posted April 12, 2013 Dubbed, want to watch a show, not read a book.
pendant20 5 Share Posted April 17, 2013 I do like subs but dubs fit the anime so perfectly and I love how the voices are in the original.
JtPv 140 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Dubbed. I hate subs. Mainly because it ruins the feel. Catchy theme song? Reads book. Awesome line? Reads book. Awesome action scene? Rea- well...YOU GET THE POINT.
Space 2335 Share Posted April 19, 2013 Animes are 99% cliche and poorly thought of and bad. Planetes is the exception. But it is subbed and I like watching a show and doign something else, so screw it.
