During the GM Q&A yesterday they explained that it was a server transfer... Not sure if it still applies, but there's the second reason to the downtime. Other than people who just prefer to DDOS us. Hope it helps~

In my oppinion, the cause for the down time right now is not important, the only thing that is is getting the server up and making shure that this kind of thing never happens again. We all know, no matter how much we complain how the server is not up and that we have absolutly nothing to do, (Trust me I'm one of them) that the Technical team and Shift are doing their absolute best work to keep up with the server. And remember, there were probably quite a few sleepless nights this weekend, just so we can get the server back up. To you shift and all who are working to get us running, my hats off to you.

Yes, could we please get an update. You said it would take 24-48 hours for the server to get up: the time limit has been reached.

Reached? It has been passed by days! How much days has it been now, 5?

Anyways, an update would be really nice, with all the downtime and stuff.

The communication with the playerbase is dreadful at the moment, we dont know if the server is down because of the DDOS attack or because of a server switch? And the fundraising weeks ago, is that used now? Also there is no message/article on the LOTC homepage! Just a suggestion..

Say, if you could, what would you choose: Shift reporting the situation every fiew hours to us, or Shift using that time to get the server back on?

...or get some sleep?

I don't think we want poor Native to lose any sleep, nor update us ever min of every hour. But a post a day shouldn't be to much of a bother I wouldn't think. In general it has always taken a great amount of time for messages to be delivered to us. Perhaps delegate another member of the community to keep us up-to-date on the happenings. I am quite certain there are still those who talk to Native everyday who could do this role for him.

*Sigh* I really don't know why all of you are somehow claiming that Native is losing sleep from trying to get the server up. The amount of progress he can make depends on the Hosters side(everything is going smoothly for example). Seriously, one admin should know what the status is and be gracious enough to update the community.

We are currently switching hosts, which should hopefully be finished today or tommorow and ready for us to swap over all of our data from the forums / main server & 3.0 map - I've been spending time with the Ms's and I apologize for not bumping this thread ~
