Orcish Subraces Final thread!

Its been a year now and we have been talking about this for alot of time, I think its time we come to an agreement on something we all know that we have 3 sub-races of the Orcish Race, and those are Nomad, Goblin and Shaman.

Goblin shall stay the same of-course, now when it comes down to Nomad and Shaman.

I feel that we should have, either shaman or Nomad change to Uruk which would be your normal sized Orc.

But I am still pondering on what the third would be.

My current list is

Orc race:

Uruk-Hai

Gobo-Hai

Unknown

PS: none Orcs or people not part of the Orcs, or have not been an Orc do not post here, your comment well be unproved.

Perhaps in place of the "unknown" section there could be some kind of large, brutish Orc? Like a dumb creature, usually around 11+ feet. Though it sounds a bit power-gamey at first, I don't know what other subrace the Orcs would have.

That was suggested, a big dumb creature. They were called Olog-Hai if I recall, they were indeed interesting, they would have been a Bog but much more dumber.

Ahhh, perfect. I assume these fat dunces would be created from breeding? Some Orcs are bigger than others of course, and a larger orc + another large orc could probably make one of these "Olog-Hai."

Other than that, the only idea for a sub-race would be an abominable half-breed Orc-thing, which is just a half-breed and not really a subrace. Like a dwarf/Orc mix.. ueerggh..

I say some sort of Troll, perhaps... But the Ogres sound fun. I say they should have the option of (somehow) having two heads. You know what they say! Two heads is dumber than one! :D

Goblin, Uruk, Ogre. Don't use the -Hai, or it sounds directly taken from LotR rather than heavily based on.

I really like these three. Please don't add "-Hai."

Orc as the base race, then Uruk, Goblin, Ogre as the sub-races. I also agree with not adding -hai.

Ogre/Troll for sure, if there's ever a fourth I'm betting on Hobgoblins.

I like the "Hai" Personally. Besides... If Availer can pull a Gandalf, we can have Uruk-Hai. (No disrespect towards Availer, butthe way he came back is pretty much the same thing with gandalf.)

Technically they is already ogre and troll lore. They don't have the name Ogre or troll, but its essentially it.

http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/69895-groupmonster-the-huuneteklat-ogre-and-troll-lore-updated-with-new-names/page__pid__612529__st__80#entry612529

I would prefer Ogre, since they'd be dumb brutes who are the best resource gatherers (not intelligent enough for the finer art of fighting, hence why Orcs are the best fighters and goblins the best thinkers). They'd also be great in war for moving siege machines and heavy labor.

Actually I think Ogres most definatly would be able to fight. It's like the Troll in LotR. It's big and stupid, but it atleast knows how to stab someone.

Some characteristics of Ogres is the option of 2 heads (Maybe to make them somewhat smarter), horns, fat belies... Basicly Warcraft 3 Ogres.... Or we could have them be like LotR Trolls... But reguardless, I think Ogres should be put in without a doubt.

I don't really like the "Hai" thing however I do agree with the names. If you remember from Aegis there was a large 12 - 14ft Red Orc named Dretus, he was to be descended from Ogres or whatever you call them now. Perhaps you should include them.

*Ahem*

"The Blah" was adopted from Shadowclan (the organization, not Blawharag's RP clan), and the Shadowclan constructed the blah from most heavily Black Speech (LotR) with important influences from WoW's Orcish, and a few scattered references to smaller, inconsequential orc language databases. Indeed "True Blah" or the version of the Blah with uses no bastardized English words to function and is therefore considered the ancestral tongue (not by coincidence, also the stance taken by most, but not all, Shadowclan branches) relies almost entirely on Black Speech to function, since it Black Speech is the among the most developed and accessible pure-Orcish language to date.

Now, with that being taken into consideration, "Hai" in both Blah and Black Speech means "Kind" or "People". Human-kind in the blah is Shara-hai. This isn't new, we have literally been using this word since the advent of the Blah in Aegis. Krughai means "The people of Krug" and is the name for our military.

So for you to come in here and complain that we are using "Hai" shows you are either severely under-informed about the Orcish lore, or you are asking us to completely re-do our language system. So, are you asking us to change our entire language system?

That question aside,

I agree with the Olog-hai design. A large, extremely strong Orc who is too slow-witted to be efficient in combat, but can more or less act as a mini-siege weapon to wreck small buildings, or as a means of transporting larger-grade siege equipment.

I agree with the addition of the Olog'hai, would be a good addition to the orc race.
