"And with a blow of some mystic horn, the ones with crimson heads marched, their claymores and targes ready for blood..."

Quietly did Angus and Molly lay upon the sage grass of the city park, their hands locked with love and embrace as the roses and daisies among them danced with the wind. It was a busy morning, like any other. Large groups of all races and professions gathered in the center square of the city, talking loudly and softly, walking slowly and running swiftly.

Of course, that idle chatter coming from the east couldn't matter less to the love birds. The grass whispered with the gentle wind, and along with the wind did seem to carry off the busy talk of the many groups at the square.

Molly clenched her fist, smiling towards Angus as she rose from the grass. Angus was pulled up playfully, and Molly grabbed his other hand and began a dance with him, jumping happily across the grass as Angus smiled, staring in her eyes.

Oh, what a morning it was. The smell of birch bark was present in the air, and the aroma of fresh bread from the local bakery wove along the noses of all who were in the beautiful day. The sounds of birds, just awaked, flittered through ears, and a fast, methodical beat came forth from peoples feet.

Angus fell to the ground purposefully, bringing Molly down on top of him. The two smiled at each other, the beating of their twin hearts seeming to grow louder and louder. Just as Molly leaned closer to her love to kiss him, Angus lightly pushed Molly off of his body, raising his head in question. Molly laid on the grass, picking at it with her fingers.

"What is it?" She asked, the grace in her voice ever-so present.

Angus tilted his head, turning his confused face to Molly. "Do you... Hear that?"

Molly turned her head, listening for something. She did, in fact, hear a fast, but soft beat ringing in her ears. "Oh," she said, realizing it wasn't their hearts, "it almost sounds like drums."

The two rose from the grass, Angus giving Molly a hand as they pranced through the square, on their way to the front gate. They noticed that many groups were on their way to the gates as well, hearing the same noise, which was getting increasingly loud.

At the gates, the many peoples peered through, looking for a visual to pair to the noise. Drums; it was vivid.

A Kharajyr opened his eyes wide, pointing to the north as he yelled a noise of recognition. All around him turned, looking to his shock.

A swarming mass of red bodies was surging toward the city, faster than even the warhorses of the guard. Immediately did a gatesman sound the alarm, and the city guards began arming themselves.

As the tidal mass neared, many noticed that the bodies weren't completely red; but the large caps which they wore upon their robust heads were as crimson as blood. It was also evident that the pounding was coming from war drums, and Molly actually saw that the creatures were armed.

The citizens fled from the gates, leaving a regiment of guards to take their place. Archers were posted on the city walls, using their sharp eyes to look for the first sign of bow-fire. Soon, the captain of the guard mounted his warhorse and paced behind the gates as this unknown foe approached, with lightning speed. The drumming was now so loud and near that the rhythm was noticeable.

The Red Caps were now less than fifty blocks away from the gates. Marched to the beat, they did, and as they approached, the captain of the guard spoke to his men.

"Hold your fire! When they attack, we retaliate," the captain uttered, his horse neighing with the guards in response. Citizens, now garrisoned in their houses, watched intently from windows.

Targes clapped to the beat of the music, the army of Red Caps gaining closer and closer to the walls.

Finally, an indescribable sound filled the open air of the city. It ran shivers down even the back of the great captain.

Molly and Angus stared frightfully at each other as the Red Caps began their relentless assault.

What is a Red Cap:

A Red Cap is a robust, prominently muscled race that looks like the cross between a goblin and a dwarf. The hands of the Red Caps are the talons of eagles, and their long gray hair matches their braided beards. Wearing tunics of sheepskin and tartans torn from cadavers, these vicious warriors wage war with any humanoid race that lingers within their proximity.

Wishing to the gods for wealth, nimbleness and strength, the eldest of the Red Caps were never answered. Instead, they turned to old witches and warlocks for a curse, sating their greed with trickery.

The witches presented them with a simple cap; one enchanted so that the Red Caps could possess great luck, strength, and agility. However, the cap also causes them to pay a deadly price; unless they maintain the crimson color of the cap by dying it with blood, the wearer would die. And one would find that removing the cap would leave you so weak and exhausted, you could barely move.

So, the Red Caps hunt cities and sanctuaries, looking to only keep themselves alive using their victims blood.

What do Red Caps do:

Red Caps decisively march into nearby cities, looking only to "refuel" their caps so they continue living.

They always march into battle with a signature sound of war drums and the sounding of the mystic horn.

How they can be killed:

If a Red Cap cannot maintain the shimmer of blood in their hats, they will die. This is why they attack cities; to keep themselves alive. Removing their hats has proven to be very impossible; the Red Caps have made sure (with ties and knots and bows) that their source of power stays on.

Red Caps are mortal, but their strength and agility makes them hard to best. Out of all, the Red Caps only fear one thing: Holy water. Although this will not melt them like the Wicked Witch of the West, it does a considerable amount of damage against the damned creatures.

Becoming a Red Cap:

Red Caps would be played by the event team exclusively. I wish not to thin the playerbase by making another race. The purpose of these creatures is to always keep cities and sanctuaries on their toes, and maybe add in some new lore along the way. Tired of seeing players circling around the center platform endlessly (in the sanctuary), I'm hoping random attacks by the Red Caps will keep players happy, and bring the RP to them.

And hey, a healthy city should know how to fend off a foe anyways.

Other Info:

That is all I have on Red Caps at the moment. I could use a skin, based of the picture I provided. Thanks! Please leave constructive criticism below, and remember to look at my signature for more of my lore pack.

Concept Images/Screenshots: I provided those in the summary.

Other Information: None.

Do you need the Event Team's assistance?: YES.

If so, do you require actors and/or builders?: Just actors; and good ones.
