To those complainnig about the prostitution rule:

Prostitution is realistic, just like rape is realistic. This community is too immature, however, to handle it realistically.

This is a serious, real life issue, and seeing the way certain people play their female characters is not only offensive, it is disgusting, and reeks of objectification. I am honestly glad it's gone.

In the real world, both in olden days and present time, prostitution is a last resort for someone who has been put through terrible circumstances and seemingly has no other options. It's degrading, not to mention dangerous. In the world of LotC there are countless other options. Food and jobs are easy to come by, wealthy and respectable, unmarried men are literally everywhere, and of course there's always begging and pickpocketing, or living in the wilds.

Your characters have NO REASON to stoop so low, which leads me to the conclusion that you're playing as/interacting with prostitutes because "hurr durr, sex". Which is extremely offensive, and I'll say it again, objectifying and sexist. So quit the complaining, and thank you administration team.

I'm sorry. I know I can't change your mind. But I don't see a reason why anyone should play on a server when it's appealing to small children in an age group who hasn't any business here.

I can understand the sex, because certain players go too far with sexual roleplay and resort to pedophilia and beastiality, those players need to go. The sex restriction was needed. But censoring violence is not the way to go, because you just killed a lot of villains known for their graphic roleplay, for example, the perfectionist.

I'd rather see an age restriction on this server than to restrict a majority of the playerbase. Bring on the 16+ policy.

I'll take again a break of LotC to see what it is in several months. It's sad to see such changes. We shouldn't focus on the 12 years old player base. In all honesty, those who are able to write a proper lore-story for their character should be mature and intelligent enough to handle this violence. We are here to have some nice RP, and we were the best server for RP back in time. Now we become something too focused on anybody.

We are becoming mainstream.

Alright people, while we all wish to voice our complaints, and you can, please remember to do it in a calm, civil, and respectful manner. Please do not attack another player for their opinion on the matter, and be kind to the staff who made this decision, they only have LOTC's best interest in mind.

A few amendments...

Prostitution and Brothels - after further discussion in the GM chat, we have decided this shall not remain banned, and as such Brothels and Prostitution is permitted, on the same grounds as it previously was.

Prositution and Brothels are once again disallowed.

Violence - as I have stated previously, no player (as to the staff's knowledge) currently oversteps the boundary on this. If a staff member does, at any time, feel someone is over-stepping the boundary - a discussion will be held with the GM/Admin team, and a decision made. On the first offence, a player will be only warned. The second offence will result in a ban.

Sexual Innuendos and References - this more refers to discussion before or after a fade-to-black, if either party describes the actions that happened during it, or the other's genitals, which often seems to happen.

And finally, a small note from myself - I apologise if I have come off as aggressive during this thread, it has simply been slightly frustrating.
