Bravepaw 178 Share Posted January 14, 2013 * Bravepaw stands in front of his home over looking the nations citizens. "I stand before you no longer as High Prince but a merely a Prince. Prince Orlanden and I went on our routine hunt recently and where held against our will. I'll let Orlanden inform you of the detail of what happened for I knocked out and Orlanden was the only one coherent. But after we were freed We returned hungry and weak and went directly to the council room. It was then I was informed that Kolyat replaced me as High Prince and I would not be receiving my title back. I was told that an out side nation forced their hand in the matter. But never in my 52 years as Prince has Malinor allowed another nation to dictate our government. I was gone only 7 elven days and the tests of leadership have proven to conquer some of the council. There will always be lies, and rumors clouding the truth in politics but those veteran members of Malinor know I speak from the heart and with meaning. Now I could fight this movement and stand in front of you shouting treason but I am not out for power. I do not yearn for the title of High Prince. I only wish to serve elves and use what ever tools I can to do so. You can bicker on if I did a good job or not but I gave my heart and soul literally for the Elves. I did not search from princedom, princedom came to me. I and Orlanden started Normandor before we were apart of Malinor. Malinor came to us and asked us to make Normandor it's capital and I a prince. As a patriotic elf I felt it was my duty to do so. I respect loyalty and honor above all and I feel the government as of now does not represent who I am or what I stand for. But just because I am no longer a Prince does not mean I will stop serving Malin's Children. My history started with peaceful private sanctuary for elves and peaceful souls alike and I will continue to do so even if it's not in Malinor. May Malin bless you, brothers and sisters." Dromui 755 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Azel listens to Bravepaw, feeling slightly bad for the Elf who lost power due to the greed of the other members of the Council. He sighs and at the end of his speech, Azel brings his hands together and claps for Bravepaw. He cares little how the others respond, but he feels this is his way to show the ex High Prince how he felt about his situation and the respect he felt for him. "A strong High Prince..." Azel mutters under his breath as he continues to clap.
the GOAT of the craft 606 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Rhazev silently hopes that the new High Prince will abolish leaves as legitimate decoration, and mumbles to himself; "Only a matter of time. The Princedom came to him out of desperation. Normandor was ugly anyway."
Bircalin 332 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Bircalin stands with his arms folded, giving a disinterested posture as he listens to shield his thoughts like a poker-face. A grumble nestles itself in his throat after he finishes listening to everything Bravepaw has said. His expression still remains unchanged as he's thrown into a deep state of thought, reminiscing the events of Aegis once again. Sighing briefly, he murmurs to himself with an ironic tone"Once more, it seems those that give the most to Malin's children receive the least. Who will be next, I think?" Shadeleaf 1022 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Arzota listens on in silent despair, none showing, outwardly at least... He makes his way through the crowd placing himself in the back, as so he may be the first to leave, people needed to be informed of course... "Brave was a good prince... and a model for everyone of his successors shame to see him go..." Arzota mumbles as he walks, shaking his head at the implications of two resignations in one day. Birdwhisperer 1174 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Elorna quietly walks up beside Bravepaw and slips her hand inside his, watching the elves that have gathered. Her face shows little emotion as she stands very still and solemn, silently listening and observing. When Bravepaw's speech is over she lets out an almost inaudible sigh, and squeezes his hand a little tighter. "We will live through these times, to see better days," she whispers, as if to convince herself more than anyone else. "We will be strong."
Orlanden 33 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Orlanden walks up to Brave and places his hand on his brother's shoulder. "Well, it seems we have a lot more time on our hands, now. How about a game of Berr? Just like the old days! Meet me at my house in a bit, we'll head to the beach and set up a target." He chuckles in excitement as he walks back to his home to collect his bow and field-tipped arrows.

Caln McHarnish/porkchopp2 71 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Sentinel Marcus shouts from the crowd. "All the new council has brought was a horde of Humans to our door! Bravepaw retained peace. We need him as our High Prince!"

Baconthief 682 Share Posted January 14, 2013 "Brave I am glad to hear you do not mean to take this out violently, an intelligent man you are. This act was done not out of greed, but for the progression of freedom. The council will begin stripping powers from the position of high prince until it's equal to seats on the council. One voice for a nation can be good, yet it can easily create tyranny. Many equal voices is a true form of leadership. Even more truer than that is the act of referenda, actions of the people to make laws. I intend for this concept to be the true governing force behind malinor. This would of happened to anyone on the high council position, if I were on it I would of gladly set up a system where the elves rule themselves. This is the intent of the current high prince, if he fails I'll take drastic action" "Perhaps it was cruel to do so in your absence, but perhaps it was your absence that brought about this idea, for before we were afraid to speak out for the idea of referenda. I am truely sorry, it was not a thing I enjoyed"
Dromui 755 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Azel turns around when he hears Khel speak. "That all may be true! But you agree to others stepping up to take position on the council so easily! I do not understand why we do not have two or one representative from each district, making it equal in number and in power. Why must others like Rina scream for power and you accept when your close friend has tried so hard to make you happy and help?!" Azel storms off down the stairs, angry at himself. Elindor 666 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Elindor slowly wanders through the square. He stares blankly forward, mumbling into his lip, "The princedom teeters upon a mountain precipice, every stirring sways it closer to collapse." As he walks past earshot of the once-Prince he raises his voice so that it is clear. "You are fortunate Bravepaw. You may have just saved yourself from being crushed amidst Malinor's debris without realising it. I suggest we ready the ships. The elves need to leave." Baconthief 682 Share Posted January 14, 2013 "My close friend? I haven't put any close friends in the council, not a single one. I'd love to see Rina on the council though, not because she is my friend but because she is peaceful"
Dromui 755 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Azel sighs as he hears him speak, realizing he is ever ignorant and he scurries deep into the district to meditate on his future. Unsure of how he should handle himself from now on and how he can continue to help Malinor when few want him. Azel decides its time to leave for good and to say his farewells before he takes off. He continues his meditation.
