I guess I'm excited, but the lack of committing to a date is really annoying to me. It's basically causing us to push it back continuously because there is no drive or insentive to finish it quickly. I can understand that it wouldn't come out this weekend but it could easily come out by next weekend if there would be some sort of commitment or reason to finish it quickly. A release date would give people the reason to push through and get it done sooner than later. I'm sorry for complaining but that's just how I've seen it. I am overly greatful for what the builders and staff have been doing.

The map itself is finished - as I said, the staff have a rough deadline of when we need to have regioning etc finished, however the simple reason we don't want a specific date is - we don't want to fully rush it. We're expecting everything done before the rough date, so we'll likely be releasing an actual release date either this week or early next (don't quote me on that!).

I didn't think that the December date was realistic when I heard about it, but with the map fully built then having a release date would not cause any sloppiness and it would give people drive. You're correct that it can sometimes cause sloppiness but all you need a a realistic release date.

The only realistic date that comes is when everything is finished, because there is no such thing as certainty in a subject such as this. All it takes is a single mistake/error that we find out too late that we have to spend time fixing, and then we push the material date back, and that's when people truly get annoyed. Referring to my first post, a prime example of this was Halo 4, they stayed true on their release date as they had to, but they released an unfinished game, seeing as the File Share wasn't working properly and wasn't put into place until two or three months after release. This simply reason caused a large part of the players to leave the game, as custom games contributed to making Halo such a great game. We, on the other hand, have no intention of releasing a broken map, which is why there's no release date.

Also, another interesting fact. We did actually set a deadline for the builders, although due to a lot of downtime on the build server, we pushed that date back a few days. Imagine if that had been the release date, and downtime prevented us from finishing so we pushed it back even more. We have a method to our madness, although it may not always be apparent.

Sigh, was hoping for my hopes to be raised... tired of this waiting... Got tired of the wait a little after Asulon dissapearing...

Be patient, friends! The wait shall be worth it. On another note, thank you for all the tireless work and effort put in by the builders and GM's :)

I don't mind the wait. It's role-play all the same, just a new location.

That doesn't mean I am not eager to see 3.0, but there shouldn't be a rush.

Personally I'm very excited for the new map. I can't wait to see the builds that I have only glimpsed.

I'm much more concerned about what coded plugins we will have. I would really like to see a stable version that I can distinctly say: "This is LOTC." Extra doodads and whistles can be added to it along the way but I'm really looking forward to a skills plugin that we actually keep and an economy plugin (with shops). I just don't want to see us reach the new map and roll out plugins that lead to game breaking bugs (ex. excavation diamond drop rate) that then put a damper on the whole experience.

It comes down to whether you trust the GM's, admins, developers, builders. I do. They know what they're doing. It'll be released when it's good and ready to be released. And it'll be super awesome!
