House Chivay Declaration

After reading the copy sitting in the Valois manor, Ebs frowns slightly, grimacing at the thoughts racing through his head. His pointed ears twitch, as if reacting to the danger that they now may bring to the no longer young elf. He stands up brushing his coat off, and steps into the brisk evening air. The platinum haired elf makes his way to the plaza of Salvus, and then stops in the shadows of late evening, leaning against a post outside one of the shops, listening to the rumors swirling through the now noticibly anxious city.

Fujiwara Ishikawa smiled, wiping his brow, and looking at the Ishikawa Manor, a proud sight, the third story was almost finished! The workers were damn fine at their job, and they were so good, that not all of the vassals were required to work, and the sound of training swords clashing was a lovely sound.

 

The gallop of a horse is what brought him from his thoughts, turning, he saw a man in the tunic of a Rose, he frowned without even thinking, as if on instinct...

 

Folding his arms, he rolled his eyes at the proclomation and decleration of war, he spat at the man's feet, who had dismounted

 

"Tell your masters we won't be getting involved until the Emperor gives the word, and you can think twice if you are going to try and get supplies, High Sheriff's order is that these supplies are on lock and keep"

 

Fujiwara waves a dismissive hand, and goes back to the keep, the courier stood, awkwardly, before mounting his horse and trotting off.

Vectis was on guard duty when the courier arrived at the Imperial Palace to announce his message before the Imperial Dragon Guard. As the words of House Chivay were spoken, Vectis was stung by the words against the elves. Suddenly, he felt very alone, being a half-elf. It was as if invisible barriers were erected all around him, everything going dark save for himself and the courier.

If by any chance the Dragon Guard would involve themselves, it would finally give the young man a chance to prove himself on the battlefield. But at what cost? The chances were slim, at any rate. Their job is to protect the Emperor, not accompany some racist nobles and their minions to genocide. He continued to mull over the entire situation throughout the night, taking the time to sharpen his sword.

Tobias smiled while sitting in his room of the lodgehouse located in Aldersberg as he began to listen to one of the workers speaking out in the hall. It appeared The Elves were going to be slaughtered, this was going to be entertaining. Slaves or corpses? Which would they become? Only time would tell.

Borric ignores all the Declarations and couriers, the posters and heralds.

Borric already knew. He witnessed the event in Malinor, bedecked in bland plate armour, in line with the Rose soldiers. Friends. Allies. Sword Brothers. He needed an event way to channel his dislike of the elves, and here it was.

 

He grins lopsidedly, his black hair sticking to his head in perspiration from the journey there and back.

Borric is going to War.

Messages are given to the Sheriffs of Oren as the Lord High Sheriff hears of the announcement 

 

"Sheriffs of the Holy Oren Empire, many of you will have heard of the Chivay Declaration of War, but the Sheriffs of Oren are strictly a domestic force, sworn to defend and uphold the Laws of Oren within Oren unless the Emperor himself sends us out, so with regret any Sheriff who follows the Chivays to war shall be punished for desertion and disregarding the Orders of the Lord High Sheriff, The Holy Oren Empire has not at this time declared war so all Sheriffs are ordered to stay within our borders and protect the innocent and uphold the law. Though you may donate items to the war effort you may not directly assist."
