Finally... Question; could they still spam the doors, i.e open and close it then the LoTC members that are playing can hear them spamming your door... Because that was really annoying in Aegis

Nice work Telanir. It's great to see this returning, when I was considering joining the server way back, the WS's were implemented, and because of that I was strongly convinced to join.

To gauge how helpful a player is, you could keep an eye on the Help channel, as a suggestion. The negatives unfortunately outweigh the positives of giving everyone access to the WS chat.

I still strongly disagree with this. As I said before, from my experience (and I spent quite a bit of time in WS), it was not common for people to use it for personal conversation. Whenever it happened, other players in the chat or sometimes AT would hush them up. However, I'd say about 80% of the time, non-staff members would be helping the souls, and a lot of the time when I did /who ws (back when that command worked), there would not actually be any staff online who were in the chat, or if so only one. Not all the time, but not infrequently by any stretch.

Point is, having more players than just staff would definitely be better in this situation. Especially if the AT and other staff had the option to mute players, then someone in the chat could threaten them with mutes if they are staff, or simply message a staff member to join the chat if not. I can tell you that a lot of Wandering Souls will have a more enjoyable experience this way, and it will definitely lead to more applications and more timely help.

Also, I'd like to remind you that the Wandering Soul chat isn't just for answering questions of the Wandering Souls, but also to keep them entertained while they enjoy the server. It was perfectly acceptable before to chat idly so long as it was with Wandering Souls who initiated such chat. It's not simply an applicant-helping channel, although that is the primary use.

Nice, I loved these invisible guys. Maybe you should give them ability to make some random voices related to their login time, like if they login for a few minutes, they might make some zombie or some other weird creepy sounds. But if wandering soul has been there for an hour or more, they could make ghast sounds or some stuff to add a bit more mystic feeling

While I'm glad to see the plugin back, I'm in strong agreement with both Everblue and ski_king.

Application Team need a mute command for WS. It worked wonders back with the old plugin. A GM isn't always available, and even one is, it can take precious minutes to get the player banned, all the while the spammer is chasing off other Wandering Souls and making our server look bad.

And lastly, while I understand the reasoning for disallowing normal members access, I think they should be allowed in the channel. Especially when coupled with App Team having mute powers, there shouldn't be any trouble with people abusing the chat as another OOC. As has been pointed out, there's quite often only players on to answer the questions of Wandering Souls.

In response to both of you, I have added quite a few commands in the most recent update to the WS plugin.

Among them, is the command for the App Team and GM's etc. to restrict a certain Wandering Soul from joining until server restart or they are accepted.

However, at the moment administration has decided on not allowing regular players to speak in WS chat. This is still in contemplation, but for now it will stay that way.

Well, I'm glad to hear it's in discussion. I just brought this idea up in AT chat and for all the AT members which answered, it was a unanimous 7 people who believe that all should be allowed in, we just need a method to mute them, which I believe AT members had in the past. I also asked a member of the VAT, and he agreed with me. Just mentioning this so it can be taken into consideration that even though not a lot of people are commenting here, from what I've seen, a lot if not most people would agree with this, including a large portion of the team most closely responsible for the WS chat. I realize this may come off as a bit pushy, and I'm certainly not trying to push for an argument as to whether or not it is better. Just thought that this information was relevant.

If there is an AT chat I could be added to I will discuss this with you guys. My Skype can be found on my profile.
