The Knights of Horen, also known as the Holy Order of the Red Dragon, is a circle of knights who were created to protect the city, its people, the king, and his heirs. A knight will always protect the pure and purge out all threats and heretics that goes against his majesty William and Oren itself.

I: Ranks

 

Grand Knight of Oren - The Grand Knight of Oren is the second Hand the Emperor. He deals with all knight quest and tasks of the Emperor & watching of all Imperial and Holy Knightly orders of the empire. He is the host of almost all Knightly Tournies in the Empire and one of the toughest and wisest knights in the Order hand picked by the Emperor himself. He outranks all other knights and command all knights if any are to disrecpt him they are usually punished swiftly.

Titles: The Braveheart

 

 

 

Knight Commander - This position is held by the commander of the Order, who reports to the king himself. It is his job to create, candidate, and run the knights to the best of his ability. For one to get the position of knight commander is one of the greatest honors of any man in Oren. His knights will follow his orders to the very last word. He is allowed to have three squires at a time, as well as helping the other knights with their squires. The knight commander is also given a special title of distinction and is to be spoken to as “Noble Sir”.

Knight Lieutenant - One who holds this position has proven himself greatly in the knight order, to the point where the King and or Knight Commander notices them. When one receives this position they are put in charge of a region of Oren, will receive a manor there, where they can start their own Page Militia. A Lieutenant will also be given a title from the king or knight commander to represent the fact that he is a knight of the king. This is a great honor and it is to be used wisely, as his actions are those almost of the king himself. They will not take up any squires and do have the power to candidate squires to knights before the King. The Knight Lieutenant is to be spoken to as “Great Ser”

Knight Sergeant - Four knights, they are the senior Knights who must have been Knight's first. They will lead a particular Path of the Order. They may take Two Squires although they can take a Third if the Knight commander feels they are ready and they have proven for it. The Knight Sergeant’s main job is to keep the order in check and run their path’s to the extent of their abilities. The Knight Sergeant is to be spoke to as “Ser”.

Knight - A Knight who has proven himself to his brothers, and is allowed to choose his own Banner, and take Squires to his own Banner. He may take up to 1 Squire who is passed by the king or the knight commander. They must also employ a Herald and two pages. They are knighted by the King and have to pass a test before they may fully enter the order. The Knight so to be spoken to as “Ser”.

Knight Errant - A Knight who is still proving himself to the Knights. He will be tutored by a Knight until he has shown courage in the face of fear and has completed tasks. He and his squire will take the coat of arms of the Knight. Several Knights Errant may serve under a Knight. He is more independent and needs to show is strengths and how he improves the order. The men at this rank are approved by the king as they have power un like a squire.

Current Errants:

 

Squires - A Squire to a Knight, must prove himself ready to be a Knight, through tests of Nobility that are chosen by the Knight Commander. He/she will take these Tests when the Knight they serve under feels they are ready, and have served enough. They may only take the tests twice, before being cast out of the order. This rank has no power unless they are under orders of there knight or knight commander.

Herald of Arms - Heralds are messengers sent by the order to convey messages or proclamations. They also arrange and participate in ceremonies of state (For example Knightings and squirings)

 

II: Paths

 

The Path of War - Led by N/A - This Path is commonly considered the most honorable and respectful path in the Order. They will be the ones responsible to protect and fight for the Empire Of Oren . The Knights who get great knowledge here will be considered great warriors in the Empire. They will prove that by being tested or achieving greatness in a battle to protect the Realm.

 

The Path of the Anvil - Led by N/A - This Path is for the Knights talented in blacksmithing and crafting. Whether it be the creation of arrows and bows or the smelting of iron. This is most commonly for Knights who wish to expand their knowledge on the art of the blade. They will make weapons and armor for both the Order and for their selves. People who are trained in the "Path Of the Anvil" will be honored with respect and mainly the respect of the entire Order.

 

The Path of Mercantile - Led by N/A - This path is for the Knights especially good for trading and economy. Many here can come to expand their talents of the coin. They will but are not required to supply their brothers with coin. It is frowned upon for a knight keeping his goods to himself. Knights will be rewarded with respect.

 

The Path of Teaching - Led by Great Ser Joseph Ocran - This Path is for the Knights who are especially good at giving on their skills to others. They will teach the Militia and the Squires when the Knight is away on a quest and teach them how to fight and how to act. They will also be responsible for keeping the Orders Libraries up to date, and the battle yards ready. Knights who achieve vast knowledge may or may not become a teacher of the other paths above.

 

III: Coat Of Arms

As a Squire, it is your duty to gain the coat of arms that your Knight wears, if your Knight is a Knight Errant and has the coat of arms of another Knight, then you must take that Knights coat of arms until your Knight is promoted to Knight

 

As a Knight Errant, you must take the Coat of arms of the Knight who leads the path you are in. Your Squire must take the same coat of arms

 

As a Knight, you can choose your own Coat of arms and your Squire will take that

 

As a Knight Sergeant, you will be expected to start a gentry family, and have a coat of arms for that family.

 

The Knight Commander can wear his coat of arms, or anything he wishes as long as it is appropriate.

V: THE CODE OF HONOR

 

1. To defend the Crown and Serve God.

We are defenders of The Crown. It is our duty to protect the citizens of our domain. If need be we will attack. It is our duty to see that God is worshiped and that God is not blasphemed against. It is our duty to purge the heretic

 

2. To be respectful.

Whether you are at war or walking about the town. You will be respectful. Petty arguments and insults are above this order. You should not lower yourself to the degree of the common rabble. We are meant to be an example for the people to rise to. We must not degrade ourselves. If an enemy yields, then spare him as he might see the true light, unless he or she has committed unforgivable crimes. Be on your guard as some enemies will not uphold their honor code.

 

3. Serve the crown, serve the Kingdom.

The king's word is law. As he hath been crowned by God himself, cometh to us with divine grace.

 

VI: Quests and Work

 

One someone joins the Order of Horen they will need to complete one quest a week and do at least one job every 3 days. Each of these tasks are important to keep the Order alive and get are needed for ever knight.

 

Jobs:

I- Collect 6 stacks of wood

II- Mine 20 Iron or one stack of Coal

III- Farm 2 stacks of bread

IV- Hire one Servant/Page

V- Recruit a new squire or page.

The Edict of the

Grand Knight

 

The Position as Grand Knight is instated into the Privy Council

 

At the will of His Majesty the King William Horen III, the position of the Grand Knight by law, is only to be commanded by his Majesty himself 

 

At the will of His Majesty King William Horen III, only the Grand Knight has the righteous and divine right to knight subjects into the Holy Order of the Red Dragon.

 

At the will of His Majesty King William Horen III the Grand Knight has the utmost authority to switch Kingdom Knights’ allegiance to the Holy Order of the Red Dragon.

 

Section I

 

Privy Council Position Instated

 

By the grace of William Horen the third of his name, royal majesty of the kingdom of Oren

 

The Grand Knight is hearby been given a chair on the his imperial majesty’s most grand Privy Council

 

 Section II

 

Powers Established

 

I. The Grand Knight has been granted the power to revoke any or all Knightly titles if the gentry member if so dares to break the Holy Code of Chivalry

 

II. The Grand Knight has the power to assign quests, tasks and duties for the Knights of the Holy Order of the Red Dragon

 

III. The Grand Knight his granted the power to host tourneys in the name of the King

 

IV. The Grand Knight has been granted the power to distribute land to any who of the   Knights of the Holy Order of the Red Dragon if the Grand Knight personally has land available under his name

 

V. The Grand Knight has been granted the power to detain criminal fugitives of the Kingdom unless under the circumstances of high treasons, therefore he must have the Lord High Sheriff deal with the criminal at that time

 

VI. The Grand Knight is granted the power to command all Knig  hts of the Empire unless told otherwise by his imperial majesty

 

VII. If false Knightly orders arise in the Kingdom the Grand knight can dissolve them illegally until they get his or the Kings approval to make a new chapter.

 

VIII. The Grand Knight is granted the most utmost authority seconded to the Kingover the Holy Order of the Red Dragon, all chapters and or Knight Commanders within the Order.

 

IX. The Grand Knight may lead the Knight into Holy Combat when times of Holy War is called upon.

 

X. The Grand Knight may squire and declare dames under himself without the Kings approval

XI. The Grand Knight is invested with the sole power to knight those who have been deemed worthy along with the King and Noble Sers should they seek the Grand Knights permission.

 

Section III

 

Duties Announced

 

I. The Grand Knight has been instructed to organize and keep the Chapters of the Imperial Order in check

 

II. The Grand Knight has been instructed to keep the Imperial Family safe and accompanying them.

 

III. The Grand Knight has been instructed to host regularly tournies, jousts, and fights in the name of the Holy Imperial order to keep the knights trained.

 

IV. The Grand Knight has been instructed to demand elven weekly reports from the knight commanders to have the knowledge of all of what has happened in their chapter.

 

V. The Grand Knight has been instructed to enforce disciplinary acts upon knights and or footmen of the Holy Imperial Order.

 

VI. The Grand Knight has been instructed to handle any type of diplomacy with foreign states but may not declare major outcomes; he may only declare minor outcomes relating to Holy Order of the Red Dragon and must bring these outcomes up to the Emperor immediately after declaring them.

 

VII. The Grand Knight has been instructed to command Knights of the Holy Order of the Red Dragon in combat and in war.

 

VIII. The Grand Knight has been instructed to protect any Holyman that comes into immediate danger and make sure the Chapters of the Holy Order is protecting Clergymen.

IX. The Grand Knight has been instructed to oversee training of the Holy Order and grant permission for Squires to be taken under a knight.

 

 

 

 

The Edict of the Holy Order of the Red Dragon.

“With the permission from his Imperial Majesty, William Horen III the Divine, King of the Oren Kingdom. The the Chapters of the following are hereby Disbanded, The Lion Chapter, the Silver Gauntlets and the White Rose.  Each of one of their knights shall be put into the Holy Order of the Red Dragon itself. The Grand Knight has called for this to unify the Knights of the Empire, to allow our might to server our King with its full force, and to allow us to do our other duties which have sadly been neglected, or at least not as done as much as it should have been which is protecting and aiding the clergy itself. With this edict the following as well shall happen.”

Section I.

I. The Chapter of the Lion is disbanded, all footmen and knights are now part of the Holy Order itself.

II. The Chapter of the White Rose is disbanded, Knights of the Chapter are to report to the Grand Knight immediately for briefing and their new knightly ranks, all footmen are pardoned and are now just defenders of the Chivay kingdom.

III. The Chapter of the Silver Gauntlet is disbanded, all footmen and knights are now part of the Holy Order itself, all men are to report to the Grand Knight for briefing and new rankings.

IV. All Knights who do not come to speak to the Grand Knight after an elven week of this edict is announced their titles are forfeit, if any desert and flee from their duties they shall be trailed with high desertion.

V. A new branch of knights will be placed as the Kings personal guards, the unit consisting of only four men, a knight lt. and three hand-picked knights of the order chosen by the Grand Knight himself. The knight Lt. can only be ordered by His Imperial Majesty and the Grand Knight himself. The squad itself will be solely there for the purpose of defending His Imperial Majesty in times of danger and battle.

I. The Grand Knight has absolute power of the Holy Order, the only ones who has the rank to pull orders higher than the Grand Knight is the Emperor himself.

II. The Knight Commander oversees daily operations of the Holy Order, and answers to the Emperor and Grand Knight with several ranks below him. Knight commanders may knight those who have been proven worthy with permission from the Grand Knight.

III. The Knight Lieutenants will be assigned to kingdom. one Lieutenant per kingdom each having control over a handful of Knights to enact the Emperor’s peace within the lands.

IV. The Knight Sergeants  are delegated to train knights and footman and other various tasks as needed, and will be appointed as needed. By the Knight Lt’s, Commanders or Grand Knight, they will also server under Lt’s to assist them in their day to day duties.

Section III

I. The Order of the Red Dragon has the right to keep the King’s peace and to uphold Imperial laws in the Kingdom of Renatus and Kaedrin.

II. The Knight Lt’s and Knights under them will be assigned under various kingdoms. They will be aiding the Sheriffs and local guard forces.

II. The Order of the Red Dragon is bound by their faith to protect all current serving clergyman and church lands when called upon to protect them.

III. When a Heretic is spotted by a knight it his his holy duty to hunt take them down and hand them over to  hand them to the clergy for proper punishments. Or if the Crown Authority permits they may deal proper punishments out themselves with the permission of a Knight Lt, Commander or Grand Knight.

IV. When a holy war or Crusade is called upon all Knights of the order must attend unless they are not physically able to attend due to injury.

V. A Knight of the Order must protect all Imperial family members even if it risks your own life to do so.

Grand Knight- In Charge of the whole order

Knight Commander- Second Command of the whole order, aids the Grand knight in his tasks

Knights Lt’s- The Control the Knights and Footman within a kingdoms or boundaries.

Knight Sgt’s- A Minor officer rank to aid the Knight Lt. and to train the men, there will be a Sgt assigned to each duchy to ensure all knights are kept at their top levels.

Knight - The second lowest rank, a knight who has finally proved themselves will be placed within the Holy Order of the Red Dragon and will server under a Lt. of choice picked by the Grand Knight or commander.

Squire - Squires will server under a knight appointed by the commander or Grand Knight and be trained in the code of chivalry and art of warfare. Should a knight deem the squire worthy the Grand Knight will send them out on their final task before knighthood follows.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Edict of the renovation of the Holy Order of The Red Dragon

With recent attitudes faced by the holy knights of Oren, I lord grand Knight Daniel Kamura do hereby decree the removal of all knight titles previously held by anyone knights within the order. The removal of titles shall be instigated effective immediately.

Section I: Titles

I. By order of The Lord Grand Knights, any knights who held the rank of knight or higher are hereby removed and placed back to knight errant, and are to regain their title through proving they are worthy. No exceptions shall be made except for the Grand Knight himself.

II. With recent attitudes faced by the holy knights of Oren, I lord grand Knight Daniel Kamura do hereby decree the removal of all knight titles previously held by anyone knights within the order. The removal of titles shall be instigated effective immediately.

Section II: Laws

I. By order of The Lord Grand Knight, any who assault a knight shall face lashings depending on the injury of the knight, should one be convicted of attempted murder, murder or manslaughter of a knight they shall be hung immediately.

II. Any knights caught breaking the law without prior permission to do so will be faced with immediate stripping of all knightly titles along with a court trial set against them.

III. All knights are hereby ordered to uphold and keep the Kings peace within the crownlands and the kingdom of Oren, should it need be, they are also to assist the Legion when asked outside of the Kingdom.

IV. All knights within the holy order, while to respect and assist other military forces are solely under command of the grand knight and his divine majesty.

Section III: Knights duty

I. All knights are to hereby immediately report to the grand knight to confirm their well being and to have their records taken down.

II. All knights are to immediately undergo severe will training, including and not limited to: torture, excercise, completing quests, sparring sessions, tests of political knowledge and recruitment.

III. Knightly quests are hereby reinstated, all knights are subject to complete a knightly quest every elves week or face demotion once again. Quests may be appointed solely by the grand knight

IV. Upon order of the grand knight, quotas are now reinstated and are to fulfilled every elven week.

V. Upon further mention of recruiting, all knights are hereby ordered to look out, find and bring one of noble blood who they believe to be worthy of squire ship for approval from the grand knight.

VI. It is a knights duty to serve and protect the Kingdom of Oren, as such their power is stretched out to the borders of the Orenian kingdom.

Section IV: The Holy Order

I. The Holy Order was formed and will remain the loyal to whoever may sit on the throne, however our true allegiance rests with our old ways and being loyal servants to the Red Dragon, however with his passing we’re forced to the point of serving the new king and as such our respect as depleted, with this it is now a knights duty to demand respect from those they protect, should an insult be thrown one can demand silence from anyone part from the King himself.

II. It is a knights duty to protect the Creators word and to do his will.

III. Under the title of the Red Dragon all military efforts will be separated from the Royal Army of Oren however during times of war if the king orders us to follow and work with the Royal Army we shall, but only as equals.

IV. A knight must be of noble blood unless they have determined themselves worthy in front of the eyes of the Grand Knight, if a mere commoner has they are granted squireship and are elevated from their common status to that of gentry.
