The New Halfling Q&a

Recommended Posts

I know one disease:

The dreaded Food Coma.

Leaving the subject in a vegetable like state, the food coma happens when one devours too much high quality and good tasting food. It is unknown how long it lasts, as most individuals don't actually want it to end. Those lucky few that have managed to escape (unwillingly, I tell you) tell of a great warmth moving through their body and a wonderful sensation of fullness unrivaled by anything else.

In other words, every other day for a halfling.

I hope I'm not out of place doing this, but I couldn't resist the chance for a joke.

EDIT: I figure that, if I have time for a joke I have time to help. Due to the halfling's living situation, fungal infections might be slightly common. Also, perhaps mold allergies. Other than that, probably common diseases.

Oh. Also, probably ticks and other parasites. Even though the halflings have tidy homes, their town has quite a lot of trees and shrubbery.

Plus, I wouldn't put purposeful parasitic infection past the Grumpy Tree...

Hey I'm a halfling and wondering if I could get a burrow and then be able to build on like a plot field. I plan on growing crops (and pipeweed) and selling it then putting money into building places in lenfarthing and also a church for the pumpkin god! And SHOVELS. SHOVELS EVERYWHERE!!!!!

Getting a burrow requires you to move into the inn until one is available and you are active. Unfortunately we don't allow building but we'll see what happens.

Thanks if only having a burrow is the outcome I'm ok with that

I just want to say that even though i probably cant, i would like to ask if i could clear out and build a burrow near the gatehouse so i may become the full time gatekeeper. since this will most likely not be considered due to the rules and such( me being very persistent with this single subject and i am sorry for that), i just wanted it to be put out there and see how i could possibly achieve the permissions to do so. also, the bridge that allows you to go into the gatehouse is missing the sign. the bridge is very helpful and i wish that it can be fixed for the protection of whoever is in the gatehouse.

thank you for reading

I wonder... if Mycroft goes to Lenfarthing, what timezone would his victims for his insane rituals, or friends be online?

And how long does it take to get a Burrow? Is there any place to get wood and such?

From 6 P.M Eastern Stanard to Late Into The Night EST

It also depends on who you talk to to get a burrow. ATM we have many vacant burrows, and to get wood I recommend the Frerry Forest (Or Ferry Forest, forget exact name) near the Pumpkin Wall. We have a mine near Lighthouse Lane for stone etc.

I have a couple questions;

  • Who is the racial leader of the Halflings?
  • What is the political system?
  • How does the political system work?
  • What times are the most active time for the Halflings living in your city?
  • What is your current city name?
  • How many active Halflings that live in your city are there? (Rough estimate.)

I may have more later, and yes I could read up on some of this but I seem to find that I learn more from the posts of the players than the threads. -shrug.

  • Right now Rolo BUcketfoot (Moose)
  • We run off a mayor and sherrif system.
  • The mayor has a final say on all matters (all though he rarely exerts his power due to our democratic state of mind) the mayor listens to the people and holds votes, the sheriff chooses two deputies to aid in his peacekeeping endeavors
  • Usually we are active on weekend nights, around 6 Est-9 or so Est, as a lot of us are in school right now. When summer comes around our activity sky-rockets
  • Ivybend
  • 8 Halflings are currently residents (3 new burrows are under construction for our new halflings)

To elaborate on Heff's answer, we elect a Mayor whenever the old one either steps down, goes inactive, dies or whatever else may hapoen. The Mayor appoints a Sheriff (Me) and I appoint a Deputy when needed. Our system of law and order is mostly based around the laws in the stickied thread but my ruling and punishments can be arbitary at times. Ranging from being told to GTFO to exorsisms and imprisonment.
