Telanir 6976 Popular Post Share Posted September 8, 2013 Good day LotC! Latest Technical News: Once again, Technical Team here with the latest update. You may have noticed that a few of these plugins were already added on the server a few days ago, so feel free to read up on them for further familiarity. I realize that we are currently suffering from a lag situation, so please do not get too familiar with these plugins, they are prone to removal at any moment, we will give you an hour of prior notice, however. The formatting for future patch posts has been changed up a bit with the interests of providing the necessary information more precisely and to the point. As for future insight, I will be including future news in these patches from now on, and giving details and sneak-peeks of upcoming plugins. These will be included at the bottom of patch posts. Without further wait, I present to you our latest patch in the technical field, Patch 3.4. Nexus-Combat v0.7 Author: Reag (Dgco) & Telanir The first division of Nexus, Nexus-Combat is a massive revamp of the original Minecraft mechanics. This division aims to lengthen the duration of combat, and focus our skills on more than a simple aim and click combat system. What becomes a vital aspect of combat? Timing. Timing your moves is essential to your victory, attacking, blocking, and dodging are now all equally useful utilities in your fight. Feel free to submit your experiments with the plugin and suggest any changes and/or optimizations. With the description aside, we can begin with the intricacies. Commands: N/A Changes: +Stamina → the experience bar is now used by the plugin to represent your stamina. With each action you take your stamina decreases, and you can rest to regain it. Stamina is essential to carrying out any action in battle. This feature is only accessible when engaged in combat. +Dodge → by doing a shift-right-click you can dodge backwards. For a few seconds you will become invulnerable, and gain considerable distance from your opponents. +Riposte → double-right-click to enter into the riposte-window state for 0.5 seconds. If you are attacked during this second, your next attack will be a riposte, and deal x5 damage. If you do not manage to pull off this ability, you will be severely incapacitated, and will become an easy target for a short while. +Weight → this plugin calculates the weight of your armor, and depending on this you will be unable to perform several actions. Once heavy enough, you cannot 1) Shoot a bow. 2) Sprint. 3) Swim. The third feature is only accessible when engaged in combat. +Cooldown → after attacking, you are subject to one second of cooldown. During this second you will not be able to hit anyone else. +Sounds → equipping armor and unsheathing your weapons have a sound played. In addition, hitting an armored opponent will also play a sound, as will dodging and other combat mechanics. *Equipment → equipping armor now takes time; you may need a few seconds to equip all of your armor. Scrolling/unscrolling over weaponry also takes time now, this prevents the quick-switch of bow to sword, or fist to sword and etc. It is roleplayed as sheathing/unsheathing or equipping/unequipping your equipment. *Block → when you are attacked while blocking the plugin will nullify all damage while you still have stamina. Blocks are stamina-intensive so use them wisely, a successful block can open the enemy for a counter-attack. *Damage → in later iterations of this plugin, this feature will be changed. However, for the current moment the plugin only counts swords and fists as weapons, this is until the professions division is released alongside the new items. *Classes → although unintentional, with the armor restrictions there appears the opportunity for classes. Knight’s and Rangers, a distinction of what you can and cannot do, but not actual solid classes. Knights are most likely going to be your typical full-iron armor soldier who cannot sprint, swim, or shoot out of a bow, but will be incredibly powerful tanks once they are in range. Rangers will be those who wear lighter armor and consequentially can sprint, swim, and shoot, and can outmaneuver their slower opponents. Choose wisely, how do you perform best? KnockoutPlus v1.0 Author: Sporadic The Knockout plugin has been redesigned completely, with significantly improved visual effects and giving the victor more options. The fate of your victim is placed in your hands; you can end it, or grant them a second chance. Commands: /revive [player] – With this command, you may approach a knocked out player, and revive them. Keep in mind that this takes time, it may not be a wise decision to carry out in the middle of combat. You may want to consider battle-medics in your armies dedicated to this task. Changes: +Knockout → once you are killed, you can no longer perform any actions, but are able to type out commands, speak, and etc. People around you will see your character lying on the ground. +Revive → you are given the choice to revive your opponent or kill them. Left-Click them to deal the decisive blow, or Right-Click them to spare them, the choice is yours. +Bleeding Out → when someone is knocked out, it is only a matter of time until they bleed out and their souls finally depart to be revived by the monks. If you are not saved soon enough, you will end up dying from blood loss. +Easter Eggs → find out yourself. ;) Custom Trees v0.45 Author: Sporadic The custom trees plugin has arrived to populate the world of Anthos with a new variety or trees to spice up your environment. Expect special drops from leaves, surprises, and beautiful trees. There is not much to explain with this plugin, but some trees are going to be truly massive, so watch out before planting them. Commands: N/A Changes: +Custom Trees → expect to see new types of saplings from your normal leaves. Sporadic has added quite a few trees to play around with, so have fun. +Uncommon Leaf Drops → aside from the rare saplings, you may also encounter a few rare items. Sticks, wood, and other various naturals are also to be expected. +Easter Eggs → as usual, go figure out yourself, haha. :P BetterBooks v1.0 Author: Sporadic With this plugin, you may once more store your books in bookshelves. Feel free to click the side of a bookshelf and store paper, books, and written books, the plugin is completely automated. Bookshelves may be locked by placing a sign on them and locking it with LWC. Commands: /signbook [author] – allows you to sign a book with a name different than your original to prevent metagaming. Changes: +Bookshelf Storage → right-click the side of a bookshelf to open it. You may store 1) paper 2) books 3) written books 4) bookshelves. Bookshelf-ception. Nah, I’m kidding about that last one. InvSearch v1.0 Author: Sporadic The inventory search plugin is a simple design, with credits going to Leland for his idea post. If a guard suspects you of illegal goods, or a bandit suspects you are lying about your possessions, the search plugin may come in handy. We take note that our main priority now it to bring the necessity of moderation to a minimum, and this is one of the steps we need to do so. Commands: /search [player] - sends the target player a request to search their inventory. /search accept (slot) - accept the search. By adding a number after ‘accept’ you can also try hiding an item in your hotbar. 20% chance that you are discovered, it may be quite suspicious to be caught red-handed. The # can be from 1 → 9. (hotbar size) /search deny - denies the search. Changes: +Inventory Searching → you may search another players inventory! Remember to emote sifting through their bags in roleplay, although not entirely required. +Hiding → you may attempt to hide an item in your hotbar with an 80% success rate. HelpfulTips v1.0 Author: snowshovel A simple plugin design, expect a global message across the server every so often with helpful information on them. These messages can be toggled on/off at your leisure. Commands: /tips on - turns the tip service on. You will receive global messages, this is the default. /tips off - turns the tip service off. You will no longer receive the global messages. Changes: +Periodic Global Messages → these will appear from time to time, reminders about important things going on, or the general tips. VoteRewards v0.4 Author: Telanir In future iterations of this plugin, there will be weekly and monthly rewards given out based on luck and number of votes. Currently however, this plugin is designed to pester you with bloody annoying messages to get you to vote up our server on Minestatus. Voting will silence this plugin for 24 hours. Commands: /vr - standard plugin command. Changes: +Annoying Vote Messages → don’t forget to vote, or you’ll find yourself getting along very closely with these messages. ;) +Anger → uh, yea, don’t be mad pls. ;-; ChestShop v3.64 Author: Bukkit plugin, http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/chestshop/ We will be testing this plugin for a period, and eventually giving access to GoldVIP, if you are Gold VIP and above, read up on shop commands! This is a temporary plugin until the AuctionHouse plugin is released. Expect a future notice to remove all your items from these shops in a months time or so. Commands: View link. Changes: +Plugin added. Miscellaneous Changes +McMyAdmin → We have introduced a new service to LotC that we are now using to regulate all sorts of fancy things, all in all this should not affect players too much. An example of this in action would be the automatic server saving and that welcome message you get every time you log in. *Server Maintenance → Global Moderators and Administration has been given access to server restart, so there should no longer be any long downtime periods. Props to McMyAdmin for making this possible. *ReportRTS → The modreq service has not been updated by the original author for a time, but luckily they have accessible source code. ReportRTS has been updated to 1.6 and remains functional on LotC. *Lag Optimizations → I have performed a few configuration changes on the server, hopefully this will help reduce lag slightly in the meantime. -Chunk Errors → It appears, at least as of the current moment, that we have successfully resolved this problem. If it surfaces again, feel free to spam status updates or send a message to myself or a technical team member. Sneak-Peeks: This is information that you cannot rely on. There is a 50% chance of things noted here to be released or not, so don’t bet on it. These things are also not promised to be released in the next patch, but Soon™. Spices and Tea (Dranday) → A new plugin, will utilize mugs from the Brewery plugin to implement a wide assortment of alchemical goods. BetterTeams (Sporadic/Arzota) → Mash-up of features including vip tags, being able to see health below names, status tags, and more! Composting (Katherine1) → A composting plugin for all you halflings and druids. Useless goods → bonemeal and etc. Calendar (Telanir) → The long awaited calendar plugin, utilizing the information acquired from a few old Your View posts by rittsy.

Telanir 6976 Author Share Posted September 8, 2013 *whispers in Telanir's ear* "Where's the magic plugin :P" Good job. Soon™ No but seriously, now that the combat is half-done (yes it's not fully /actually/ complete until professions is out), we can focus on magic. Wooo! Neri 3590 Share Posted September 8, 2013 The combat plugin will probably baffle or annoy you at first but once you get used to it it's a ton of fun. Also, I absolutely love the unsheathing weapon sound. Will make being stealthy a little harder!

Shar'ku/jenspelao 410 Share Posted September 8, 2013 I don't really like the stamina thing and dodging, rest looks alright, but thats why I dont like, I think pvp should remain more vanilla, the cooldown is good though.
