Mine World Maintenance 9/13 + Horses

The mine world will be undergoing maintenance this Friday. You will be unable to enter the mines during the downtime. You are being warned beforehand so that you do not lose your items/die while inside the mines. If you die, you will not be refunded. You have more than a 24 hour warning in advance. I will make 3-4 broadcasts before taking the mines down and it will occur around 5 PM EST.

 

You should: 

 

  •  Stay out of the mines before the maintenance. You will die (and some other crazy stuff will probably happen too, I'm removing the multiverse world) and your items/in-mine builds will be lost forever.
  •  Go roleplay! Nothing else will be affected, although you might have to deal with some minor worldedit lag.

What to expect:

 

  • Better mine exits. The current ones are incredibly dull and you can see the other mines. Ugly! 
  • A large public mine added to the world. This mine will have 5-10 entrances throughout the map and a small selection of ores. One could travel across the map through the mines if they mapped it out well enough! Nations will not be allowed to lock these mine entrances, unlike their racial mines.
  • Far bigger mines with adjusted ore varieties and rates. Balancing, basically. 
  • Two entrances per each racial mine. It'll make traversing the mine far easier since soulstones do not work.

For other mods:

 

  • Proper warps will be setup to make travelling to each mine incredibly easy.
  • Information will be at each warp to explain how to regen each mine perfectly with one command. So easy, even Gemmy could do it! (gemmy I kid sorry)
  • LB will be on these mines from day one.

Hullo!

 

Today, while playing around with horses at the GM stables in an attempt to make mules we figured out that horses can't breed. Telanir thinks it's something to do with updating... tech yada yada. So it's safe to hand out horses and not see them everywhere. 

 

Nation leaders are building stables as I write this, What they do with their horses is entirely up to them. There are a few groups that have been rping having horses for a long time now and they will also receive horses. For anyone else that wants to buy a horse they will be available via rp at the GM stables and or nation capitols/rp horse groups.

 

If you want to breed and sell horses I'm setting up a system to allow "breeding". You must have a barn or stables and ample room to do this, I will add a sign with a number to your building that will correspond to a spread sheet, letting me know the last time you bred and when you can breed again. Each pair of horses can breed once an rp year, close to normal horse breeding. You will still need golden apples/ golden carrots and your own saddles. (Tel is adding a saddle recipe me thinks... if not you will need 8 leather and one iron ingot per saddle!)

 

Stables can breed once a year, so make sure your horses are all fully matured before making the modreq requesting horse breeding. Also! Please make your modreq at the sign that has your stable number to make this easier for other GMs.

 

This entire post includes donkeys... They will be cheaper then horses. As we can't really breed horses yet there will be no mules :(

 

 

RULES ON HORSES:

 

  • They fall under the same VA rules as boats. You can NOT steal them without owners permission.
  • You must have a owners permission before killing a horse in RP. 
  • If your horse is killed out of RP, take screenshots and contact a GM or make a player report.

For the Elven racial mine, can we make the 2nd entrance at the dormant High Elven mine entrance? We were previously told that control of this racial mine would be given to both elven nations, so it'd be nice to actually get that.

 

For reference:

 

High Elves are still Elves and thus will be part of the Elven mine. I guess for the Elves it is not so much a Nation mine as it is a racial mine, so I'd say they're the exception. In the Elves' case, the mine will likely be dual controlled by both Malinor and the High Elves, unless the two can come up with another solution with a similar effect.

That request out of the way, I just wanted to say great work Ever. These current mines we've seen feel a fair bit more like vanilla mining, so I'm sure that'll keep plenty of people happy. While in the meantime- a few iron/coal mines remain for those who prefer that different style of mining. +1

Nah, plenty of other people wanted to change things up. This mining system is based off of Alan/Freya's ideas anyways. I just went ahead with it.
