Lark 2227 Share Posted September 25, 2013 I know its not a major issue but I would like the lore to be polished up a bit, plotholes filled, etc. I need something to read when the server is down .-.

Ever 2648 Share Posted September 25, 2013 In order of most to least important: Addition of 4-5 new GMs. From like.. 11 PM to 7 AM (EST), there are 0-2 mods on, generally zero though. I'm trying to sleep earlier so I'm not really on during that time, and Freya/Cappy have uni so they can't really get to it either. I'm tired of logging in to seeing 14 unanswered modreqs. Addition of a new admin(s). We're all holding our breath here, it's been like 2-3 weeks now. Reform the horse system. Horses need to be less restricted. Continual antagonist reforms. They're hardly frightening or entertaining but I don't think anyone is really to blame. We need some sort of storyline or plot to follow. Magic system still terribly sucks. Limiting and not fun ): A bit more unregioning needs to take place (Elf/Human lands). EDIT: 7. Re-write the war/raid rules. IDK why I listed them in an order of importance, 1-5 (and 7) are all very important.
Blundermore 2741 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Truth be told, I think that the administration is doing quite well and should continue along their current path. If anything, it's the playerbase that still needs to change its mentality. This.
Neri 3590 Share Posted September 25, 2013 I feel like we focus so much on OOC stuff that we forget to do IC stuff. Whens the last time the GM's did an event collaboratively?
mmat 7460 Share Posted September 25, 2013 I feel like we focus so much on OOC stuff that we forget to do IC stuff. Whens the last time the GM's did an event collaboratively? That's because a few GMs seem to do all of the work, leaving no time for this kind of thing. Get the others to pull their fingers out or replace them. Hanrahan 2983 Share Posted September 25, 2013 To be nicer. ..And to bake a cake of rainbows and happiness. This community needs way more..community in it. We clash so much, over way too little. How dare Kha exist. OOC empires. Pging. You smell. Nyeeah. You farted. Start relaxing, and being kind, and this'll be the greatest thing that can happen to this server.
Mingpow321 285 Share Posted September 25, 2013 7. Re-write the war/raid rules. This is an absolute must, the current raid rules cause far too many issues OOCly and act only as a ridiculous OOC shield for people to hide behind. One of the main reasons the orcs were so feared and respected in Aegis was because of the lack of a limit for raiding parties, nobody knew when the orcs would strike and it was an imminent danger. The possibility of spontaneous raiding parties (not only of orcs) was something people made a point to prepare for, they took steps to minimize the possibility of such attacks rather than hiding behind a rule when they came. While I realize that going back to the old system of raiding is pretty much impossible, I believe the current system should be heavily changed. "Raiding parties have a four man size cap for unaffliated raids and an eight man size cap for raids from a nation (although this counts as an attack). All raiders require 1a2a, no form of siege weapon (including ladders or grappling hooks) or modreq access may be used." -Lagomorphia in an abandoned Skype chat of nation leaders trying to work out a war system I think this system could be absolutely perfect with only a couple minor additions. Those being the following... - If the entire raiding party is wiped out by the defenders, then that faction is required to wait one week before attacking that place again. - Modreq access should be allowed in the form of bashing down wooden doors and breaking into chests, the same as it is allowed in day-to-day roleplay. - Though it shouldn't really be a rule, it should be common courtesy to choose to raid during your target's more active hours. Eight players is plenty to be able to hold their own against a basic defensive force, while still easily providing the defenders with the upper hand in the situation. This also largely clears up the OOC barriers that have been put in place with the five man rule, allowing for raids to be a real threat once more.
SparehoeCakes 547 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Promote a new admin, and some more GMs. It's crazy that there isn't at least 1 GM on during peak times.I think, with a new admin, and a GM or two, or three, or however many, the staff will be able to sort out less important problems from there. SirSnowMan 318 Share Posted September 25, 2013 There is literally no conflict at all, and when something happens, I feel like it's always one poor kid getting screwed over. The antagonist isn't fun, and I really have no clue what people are suppose to be looking forward to, other than 4.0.
Supremacy 3361 Share Posted September 25, 2013 My suggestion? Make the team-leader tag blue.
Aislin 4354 Share Posted September 25, 2013 1. Add a new admin. This is literally the most pressing issue. 2. Add a new GM team leader, as well as new GMs. Aussies and Brits, specifically. 3. Remove a lot of the useless members on the staff teams. This applies from Admin to level to mentor level. Team leaders, as well. 4. Get Nexus fully released. Professions and magic needs to be released. 5. Remove character cards and alts. We need to go back to people playing one character. Maybe give alts to diamond VIPs or something. This is such a huge problem and it gets little to no attention. 6. Remove OOC consent stuff regarding VAs. It's just... terrible. 7. Fix warclaim system. 8. Revamp the Media Team. They seem to be focusing on the wrong things, and not on attracting new players (which is their primary job). 9. Fix magic a little, but not too much. System's ok right now, but it needs work. ski_king3 0 Share Posted September 25, 2013 I think the top priority should be getting a new Admin (or perhaps more than one, I'd be fine with that) and then promptly selecting some more GM's from the current candidate pool. I know I've been gone about a week, but from what I've heard, GM activity has gone down, not up, and back before I arrived at university there would be periods as long as several hours during non-Aussie times without a GM online. I also feel that new GM's and Admin(s) will help push forth solutions to other issues, or will at least press for discussion, as I know most GM/Admin candidates are yearning for their voices to be heard. I also think a "Your View" on things like the Magic System at present, War/Raid rules and OOC permission for actions should be presented (not all at once) to promote an open discussion which will likely hit the majority of the playerbase. There is obviously contention over their place in the server, and I think large-scale community voice would benefit decisions made by the GM's/Admins (and MAT for the magic system bit). Also, make sure to couple these with polls, and try to avoid wording them in a leading manner, as we all know wording can be used to elicit certain responses. Most of the other things I'd like to see fixed are really predicated on GM and Admin activity, and as such, require either an increase in activity or an increase in size of the respective teams. One thing I would like to see, though, is more involvement of GM's in IC circumstances, whether that be via events or actual RP. Of course, this isn't an excuse to neglect modreqs, and can only really happen if we have more members of these staff teams. One thing that I don't think has ever been emphasized enough is the fact that staff, regardless of rank or position, ought to generally be kind to individual members of the community. This should especially be true for GM's and Admins, but really ought to apply to all staff. As such, I believe an emphasis on kindness among the staff, starting at the top and trickling down to the bottom, ought to be enforced. There's a reason why I really like Danny, he generally makes a point of being very kind and friendly, whereas most staff (and sometimes even I fall into this, although I do my very best to avoid it) do not consistently behave in this manner. As such, I really do feel this ought to be stressed more.
