The Theft Of The Mountain Bell

Late at night, the frost of winter breaths across Lenfarthing. The Mountain towers over, the bell hovering over the village. The Wind howls as a few Hobbits travel upwards towards the eerily out of place object. The Sky Thief comes to an altitude wonderful to himself, so close to the sky he can almost touch it...

The two barge out fire-sparks and rope, pickaxes and shovels. Whacking as wailing, unscrewing and un-bolting and tying in the holds, the bell never stood a chance... The two are clever, fast, and unrealistically quiet. Without a sound, they remove the bolts, and smile at one another as the bell's weight will surely be it's own downfall- literally. Wicks are tied, pipes lit, and some whiskey is tossed about as the two take a moment to enjoy the last look at the monument. Gold- Maybe gold plated and bronze inside, but valuable none the less. They drop the glasses and pipes, kicking the whiskey down. Nothing they bring up here- the bottles, to the clothing- can come down. With out a doubt they've planned.... And now it's time. A lighting of a match, our Heroes join a quick chuckle as the sparks bring up to the explosives. Time, finally, to take a score.

Down- that's where it goes- falling, crashing, destroying whole trees with it's weight. Gravity makes sure the bell is pushed down to the lower points of the mountain. Dirt is flown, trees crack, and and an over baring sound thunders through the Farthings like the hand of God, destroying the side of the mountain. But you'd never know, you'd never see it, never find it, the bell simply fell out of existence for all we know. It was not seen of again, nor were the two thieves, once the fire-sparks went off.

The crash of the bell to the ground, however, was possibly the loudest thing heard in the Farthings since -well- ever. It woke many people, yes, but no one ever found anything but dirt flying around and broken trees. The amount of guile the two thieves had (or possible it was a whole gang of thieves, they are so quiet you'd never know) was eery, the agility and swift movement to how ever they moved the bell so fast... But, alas, this is the end of the tale of the Mountain's Bell...

On an unrelated note, Elder Bolo explained that the loud noise was simply 'dry lightning'.

On another unrelated note, large boxes of heavy wheat were brought to Posco's house....

Fumble shakes awake, he shakes his brother Fosco awake as well.

"Psst Fo'so! I tink mis'ah Pos'o's big head 'xploded!"

His older brother giggles and tells Fumble to go back to bed, he doesn't ... instead he goes downstairs and eats a second night snack.
