ski_king3 0 Share Posted October 22, 2013 One suggestion I would make as an outsider is keep the huge farms, they are characteristic of halflings, and seem to be something you guys enjoy. However, rather then put them on the outside of your settlement beside the road, put them on the inside. Make it so the roleplay is near the roads/where people will be coming from. My guess is this will be huge in encouraging roleplay among halflings, even if just for those who do not deliberately intend to RP with y'all. Free The Hobbits 859 Share Posted October 22, 2013 I thought it would be nice to be based around a bay and have the town stretch around the bay slowly going down in tiers building burrows and then have the inn on a pier. I'm a bit awful with paint but you get the general idea right?
PtahWithin 1320 Share Posted October 22, 2013 Halflings are the friendly jovial folk who operate the welcome village near spawn/could temple. We greet new players, provide shelter, along with fun and safe roleplay. Would definitely become an RP hub because of its proximity, would be easy on new players, wouldn't really detract from major nation RP, would not detract from combat RP. I think it's a perfect solution. You're welcome.

Dalek348 1962 Share Posted October 22, 2013 Don't worry boys and girls I will make sure the village is top notch. I was wondering native if you could possibly randomly generate the terrain around the river? I prefer things being natural rather than artificially voxelled in. Sounds mental I know but give it a crack mate
Major Tom 139 Share Posted October 22, 2013 edit: perhaps you could extend the mountain around to block the water off from the main part of the village. Perhaps you could have three peaks like the ones we have now. That could work, but we probably don't want the (hopefully small) village completely blocked off by mountains from one side. We probably wanna make this Halfling village a lot easier to find.
Benny_Fool 80 Author Share Posted October 22, 2013 Check the map out, it explains it better than my words I think. EDIT: Shiftnative, is that road to the right going to be the highway system?

Benny_Fool 80 Author Share Posted October 22, 2013 Anyone have governmental ideas, or should we just go with the elders system?
Major Tom 139 Share Posted October 22, 2013 I think the less mountains around the village the better, though that could just be me being stupid. Edit: The Elder system works for the most part, they just need to be more active.

Edit: The Elder system works for the most part, they just need to be more active. I like mountains just because it gives us a nice place to be nestled in. True dat about the Elders. A council of the most trusted players make all the decisions. How would we decide who's on the council? How many people do you think would be on it? Major Tom 139 Share Posted October 22, 2013 A council could work, but that might rely on the entire council being on at the same time, and as there really aren't too many active Halflings it might take a while to get stuff done. The good thing about the Elder system is that (when they're active) stuff gets done pretty quick.
Major Dom 1297 Share Posted October 22, 2013 1 or 2 people in power > quick decisions > better improvements > better community.
Benny_Fool 80 Author Share Posted October 22, 2013 I think a sheriff should be kept in the case of a change to the council system. The Sheriff would be able to dole out sentences, and enact emergency laws, recruit deputies, etc. Also, weekly council ic skype meetings to discuss and deal with issues could work.
