[PK] HER SECOND ASCENSION; BURNING BURNING BURNING BURNING
ronin_champloo replied to JoanOfArc's topic in Other Realms
"ARE YOU ENLIGHTENED YET, MARCHOSIAS? -- DO THE WINDS FEAR THE STEEL OF YOUR VOICE?" The voice once more called out. Helianthe had called it false, a mockery and a lie, yet it was not heard by the frowning man. The creased lips hid his true countenance to the blade. Marchosias' gaze lingered on the adamant blade, wisps of vehemence leaking outward in wisps of smoke. His grasp on the hilt tightened, blood-tinged eyes heavy. No response was granted to Geinmiin, merely an apathetic dam that hid remorse. "A DRAGON IS POWER, SO TELL ME, HOW DOES IT FEEL?" To the blade, a lingering gaze was all that was granted as he'd turn to peer his eyes before the waves that rocked the seas. He grasping the long-sword, silencing its sardonic tone, replacing it for something else. The Nephilim's eyes closed, and soon did he ponder. "YOU SMELL OF EMPTINESS AND REMORSE, NEPHILIM." An answer was finally granted as he opened his eyes. He'd exhale through his nostrils as crimson eyes turned to the blade once more. Afterwards, did he speak in a coarse and empathic voice -- granting a statement to the vehement Geinmiin, walking back to the deck that called. "Enough." -
"I think she means Arcas." A curious man murmured, his words spoken in a loud drawl -- intent on sparking interest on the topic.
-
"It is in poor taste for a Dragon to prove his superiority by slaying and burning mortals. It is in poorer taste for one to proclaim it for all to hear, reveling all in long-winded boasts." The voice called out, tone crackling with the peal of thunder. He'd turn to his blade where a red eye resided, slit-like pupil burning with primal intelligence. Streams of smoke covered its sharp form, glistening with adamant luster as that intelligence soon became a mocking bemusement. It soon spoke out, deep and guttural, heavy and foreboding -- sounding of molten flames and stone, laden with vehemence; "THEY DID BOTH IN A SINGLE NIGHT."

This is my own thoughts on the situation, since I've seen Titanium430 work on this since the idea of it was conceived. The majority of Housemagery spells are already something that can be done without the aid of magic, the whole theme of it is that it's a simple flavorful piece that can be used to add a certain aesthetic to RP -- be it basic Disney magician vibes, or rather a forge-master having supremacy over their tools. Likewise, these two abilities are harmless and offer a different route to basic RP if the players want it. They're brushes meant to be used by a painter. As for the latter piece, Housemagery is already a well-balanced and fully-written piece. This is an addition, rather than a rewrite or entire sub-section to it. I've seen and voted on pieces that are smaller than this. It's fine imo.

"Bloodhunters. I remember when my children were eaten and hanged by them -- despicable people." The man murmured as streams of smoke trailed his cigar, thereafter did he dismissively shake his head before meandering along. -
((how do you contact someone if the note is anonymous? -- I feel like it's better to do this entirely IRP than on the forums imo

MARCHOSIAS sat upon an ivory throne, wings shrouding and stretching around the room -- banners and colours, hanging and draping down the room. A haft of smoke trailed from his lips, eyes dour as he leaned back. It felt lonelier, and the fireplace more dim. One day, he'd fall under the same fate. It was joyous to imagine.
-
AMIDST a fiery wasteland of his own doing, did he grasp and wield a fractured and ruined banner of his kinsmen; the sigil of a Three-Headed Drake. It burnt fervently amidst the ash-covered winds, embers and cinders clinging onto its tarnished beauty. And there, did he await -- bidding his time in torture until his body would reform, until he would clash steel with Paladins, not Xannities who masqueraded as them; wielding his gifts, yet knowing not of the ruinous duty that they donned. Those who'd hide, bicker and pretend to walk the Sunlit path. Pretenders of Light, not Wardens of it. FLAMES would clash against light, and he'd be there to burn and wield the symbol of his people.

HE closed his eyes once more, his mind fading as he was crushed and battered, murdered before the Knight and crumbling onto ash. The Nephilim expected to awaken once more, yet he was not granted that boon. Marchosias, for his deeds, would not be granted that blessing. AMIDST an inferno did was he conjured in. He heard it before he could even gaze upon his surroundings -- the countless beating of drums, quaking and tearing at his tears like sharpened daggers. Plumes of smoke and ash cradled the distant land as it stood ruptured and broken. The golden eyes peered across in the far-away spines left in this turmoil; to his right laid countless corpses and bodies, tangled bones left and decaying, no response of life within them; the sanity forgone from their ruinous cadavers, unanchored from life and death only to come husks of what once was. Sigils and ruined flags laid broken and tarnished at the volatile battlefield. Alas, in this infinite expanse of wroth was little seen -- the thick smoke and fog limiting his eyes, the only illumination being that of brazen flames in their beauty flickering within the skies. A haggard breath was taken from his voice, a scream that held no sound. Idly, his broken and writhing hands met a broken piece of oak alongside the tatters of a flag; that of his sigil, the Three-Headed Drake. He'd lift it upon the sky, the ruined mark of his kin arisen with vest and intrepidity as he lumbered forth, almost limping and crawling in this painful state. His feet met the faces of the corpses, all containing the same guise that he did; that of the Nephilim, Marchosias. His gaze met the sky, countless inscriptions and scriptures adrift in this orange sea of interpretation, gnawed on by wrath and hate. The same fumes of smoke trailed from his lips as he crawled onward without direction or purpose, merely the need to suffer and await for be freed onto the material world once more. THE pain was unlike what he had felt, the heat burned and seared his flesh. The burning and broken bodies rendered his limbs onto charcoal and stone. And yet, he would not be granted the bliss of death nor the freedom of mind. The same flames that he conjured gnawing at his flesh like eels. In this hell, Marchosias was trapped until the drakeshrine allowed him freedom once more. The same thoughts resurfaced; would he remember, what of his comrades and what of his Heralds? -- what would become of them as he was slain, awaiting to reform once more. No answer was granted, merely the embers and the crackling flames. ALL the while, a crimson eye peered from above. Unblinking, unwavering as it was forced to relive this moment of pain and punishment for eternity, awaiting for the next time that the Nephilim perished; for what felt like weeks was merely just a day.

MARCHOSIAS writhed and frothed upon the floor, the last fragments of his mind deteriorating and breaking as the Voidal Creature skewered and battered him -- breaking his body onto oblivion. With a weak snarl, wisps of smoke trailing from his shattered maw, he thought of one last fleeting emotion as his body began to dissipate and burn away onto ash; that of a free world, unshackled by the ruinous ambitions of the dreaded void. The flickering mind soon dispersed and burnt away, remnants of ash and cinder drifting where once was a man. And the sigil that was burnt onto his mind was an everlasting mark that he'd come to cling onto -- that of a Three-Headed Drake.

Absolutely, a bargain.

[✗] [Magic Lore] - Runesmithing: Primordial and Divine Dialects
ronin_champloo replied to BDanecker's topic in Denied Lore
I'll be giving this a read, and offering my thoughts on your work and write-up. Good on you for being persistent. Edited - 22/08/2021. 10:43PM. Gave brief thoughts on the runes, I'll be able to give a more in-depth view later. EDIT: - I’d make this three emotes (connect+charge+cast) in a combat scenario, while keeping it one emote if non-combative -- primarily to follow standard connections in magic. While I understand it’s weaker, it’ll follow cohesion and make things easier to get into. - State that only one rune is able to be placed at an object at a time. More will break it. Rune of Heat - Are the objects able to survive past these Runes or do they grow brittle and weak? -- I see that you say that they’re not resistant to weakening from heat, but I suggest a system, perhaps five uses before it starts to break itself? - I’d buff this a bit, while specifying how powerful something needs to be to damage it; perhaps T3 Spells or more? Rune of Coldness - I’d add a link to Nephilim Lore, just so it’s easier to read, if it’s needed. - I’d buff this a bit, while specifying how powerful something needs to be to damage it; perhaps T3 Spells or more? Rune of Flowing - I like how you had to add a redline saying you can’t flood the world with this. Rune of Blowing - How much does it decay at 5 meters, does it cut in half? - How much does covering the surface of this rune affect it, how slower is it? Rune of Grounding - Seems fine, however I’d add something saying you can’t summon dangerous materials such as hot rocks, etc. Make it purely for making non-combat. Rune of Light - State that it can’t blind anyone. Rune of Dark - This is fine, actually. I like it. Rune of Durability - A better way to phrase the weakness of this is that while the item is more durable, the force of a swing or strike is still felt. Etc, while the armor is protected, my arm is still dislocated from a swing. - I’d also write up a basic system saying what turns into what, and by what amount to stop vagueness in lore. Rune of Vigour - I’ll be real, I don’t like this at all. - I don’t really like the 1.5x strength buff, alongside the range of 5 meters from it. It seems like a boring combat buff and is what’s wrong with the prior Runesmithing Rewrite before, even if there’s a weakness set to it. I’d totally rework and change this into something else, perhaps stating that the sense of exhaustion is gone from their body, but their body still feels exhausted. You can write a system for this, etc; They can do 5 emotes, but will collapse into unconsciousness at the end of it, should they continue to act. - Furthermore, how do you measure 1.5x strength? -- it’s a tough and vague thing to do, I’d change, rework or even remove this. Rune of Life - I didn’t like this in the Cleric Rewrite, and I won’t like it here. - You could make this more freeform, saying it grants vitality to stuff, etc -- the effect of giving nature life within a wasteland of an area, or perhaps making it a mental effect, where someone cynical is slowly able to adopt more lighter thoughts. You’ve a lot of potential with these words and runes, and I don’t want to see it being wasted. Rune of Time - I don’t like this either, it carries the same problems as the Rune of Vigour. It’s a basic combat buff that doesn’t add anything to RP, rather than a quicker kill. Once again, I’d rework, remove or change this into something else. Even if there’s weaknesses, it carries the fault of being primarily used for combat -- even if that’s not your intent. - However, I do like the rune of regression; makes me think it'd be nice for like hammers to add finer details during Forging, etc. Or even training weapons to ensure someone doesn't kill their other. Rune of Death - I’d bump up the emotes for this by a few, perhaps make the start slower? -- or even double it for the effects of it. - You could do something cool mentally for it as well. Rune of Creation - State what it can’t fix, and what it can fix. I can already see people PGing this to fix up event-pixels to their pristine glory. Perhaps, nothing inherently magical can be fixed and LT or ST management are able to decide if something can get fixed at the end of the day. - Perhaps even say that it can only aid mundane materials? Rune of Hearth - Change the part where it says each person can have differing amounts to the emboldening of the object to a person can deny its effects if wanted. I feel like this’d be better used in a Non-Combative scenario rather than Combative. Rune of Shielding - Given that this is rather strong, perhaps say that if the object that is providing the shield is damaged or harmed -- 3 or 2 emotes, the effects of it breaks? Rune of Sight - I like this, however state that you cannot Self-Teach yourself Alchemy with this. Rune of Gold - State that if it’s for a build, it’ll need RO consent. - I’d also have a limitation for how much this is able to turn something to gold, be it 10x10x10, etc. Rune of Greed - This is cute, and reminds me of Anorum. Rune of Returning - What is the range of this, and how fast is it? It’s better to specify just in case. Overall, good attempt on this. It seems that you've taken to account the numerous ST feedback and Denials to make something nice. I'll look forward to reading this more! -

Gusiam's Response To the Mad-ker Vulmir
ronin_champloo replied to PrinceJose270's topic in The Unified Domain of Vortice
A brazen eye finds itself peering upon the missive, the low reverb of a chuckle is drawn in bemusement as the letter is folded and placed aside on a nearby table. "Why does a dog bark and yelp at the crowd? -- merely to garner attention, to be heard amidst the scattered and apathetic voices. The only Jusmia I knew of was butchered in Talon's Port." MARCHOSIAS uttered lowly, his head reclining against his seat as he sought to rid his mind of it. He'd close his eyes as smoke trailed onto the air only to dissipate. "I'd like to keep it that way." -
