  1. Alone, Sir Gwendel Vilac stood alone as he looked over the halls within his home.. a place usually filled with people and joyful smiles. Yet it had mostly stood empty since he sent his family away after the marching of foreign soldiers upon their doorsteps.. at least that’s what he believed.. even though reports told him that two of his children had died during the attack.. a heavy breath was taken by the man as he looked to the statues within that large hall… he could still hear her voice, the voice of his mentor who he had squired under for all those years.. now stripped away from the earth due to the foolish commands of foreign King proving himself to be no better then the worst of his kin who came before.. he’d muttered a few words. Moving towards the greenhouse as he’d find some flowers, placing them under the newest addiction to his homes statues.. Dame Livia Elena d'Anpalais.
  2. Sir Gwendel Vilac was currently hitting a tree as he listened to the missive being read outloud by one of his comrads... After all he had just lost so many who stood him close.. Either by the hand of ferrymen, azdrazi and even foregin powers...
  3. would read over the paper's as he enjoyed the view from the Petra Keep "What would the world be without these unbiased writers of the world"
  4. Sir Gwendel Vilac would sign the papers there after looking ot his fellow Knights and Dames of Petra "fierce as the fire, with honor in merit"
  5. The writer of the missive.. a simple Petran seemd confused, seeing how the Archduke had not had anything to do with the missive itself..
  6. Blood within the River 9th of Owyn’s Flame 1909 “A depiction of Renilde I, during one of her many late night visits” Since our founding, the focus of the Commonwealth of Petra has been based around merit. The idea that your actions speak louder than titles and lineage. And none shouted louder about this than Renilde the Parasite of the River Petra. Yet it was Renilde who herself had done nothing for her titles, a woman who would deny speaking to people according to their titles or lineage, yet turning as red as the silk she wore the moment she was not referenced to Her Grace, the Archduchess. But tell me, where is her merit? What has Renilde done for her people? her false pretense of merits importance shown in her actions. Her people were siding not with her, but with her husband during this civil conflict. Her city was empty while her husband was away on his pilgrimage, the town nearly going extinct during her so-called “rule” alone on the throne. Her own children, siding with the man who might not even be their biological father, seeing sense in the situation that has unfolded before us. Her Military stands behind the Archduke Constanz while she begs the likes of Ferrymen and foreign armies for their aid in destroying the Nation she declares to love. While it has been made quite clear to her people that she would as easily as Philip destroy Petra as he did upon the realization of losing her so called power. While she had a responsibility to keep, and a homeland to serve, she decided to rather turn against these responsibilities, to turn against her people spreading her poison not only within it, but in foreign lands. climbing into the beds of whomever might give her the attention of night. The people of Petra do not stand with Renilde, Her children against her, her army against her, and anyone who calls themselves true believers in the Holy Sacraments should stand against her and her heathen actions in breaking her oath given to GOD as well as breaking multiple accounts of Canon law. THE CANON LAWS BROKEN BY RENILDE I BOOK II. PEOPLE OF GOD CHAPTER 1. OBLIGATIONS AND RIGHTS OF ALL CANONISTS §1. The faithful, through every manner of acting, must retain communion with the Church. §2. The faithful must direct all efforts to leading a holy life and instructing others in virtue, in every age and land. Renilde I, has failed in her role as sovereign in negotiating with the church and arranging the presence of Priest’s within the Commonwealth. leading to a lack of services, attempts of arranging the return of laymen to the nation only having been done by the Archduke Constanz and the Chancellor Sir Louis d’Azor as they reached out to a wandering Acolyte. BOOK IV. THE SANCTIFYING FUNCTION OF THE CHURCH CHAPTER 2. MATRIMONY §1. The purpose of matrimony is the holy union of a man and a woman, modeling Ex. Horen and St. Julia. This part of the canon law under Book IVh, Chapter 2 has been broken by Renilde I by her actions of bringing another man to her bed. Letters having been gained proving this case. TITLE II. THE TOPICS OF CANON LAW CHAPTER 1. CRIMES AGAINST VIRTUE §1. A person who utters or publishes blasphemy, or incites contempt of or sedition against the Church, has committed a crime. §2. A person who engages in concubinage, adultery, or fornication has committed a crime. §5. A person who violates holy vows has committed a crime. §12. A person who conspires or attempts to commit a breach of canon law has committed a crime. §13. A person who encourages or commands the breach of canon law has committed a crime. Due to the many instances of Renilde I’s breachings of the Canon Law, as well as her intent of slaughtering the Petran people to gasp after control of a nation who holds no love for her nor believes in her devious lies it is in our belief that she should be declared Excommunicated and Anathema The people of Petra are GOD fearing men and women, We who fair the judgment of Him, the one true Creator. We beg the Church to see reason, her heathen actions and her Iblees tongue. Having vowed men and women alike, gaining support for a web of lies. As evidence bringed forth against her she tries to turn around against the fair people of Petra themselves and her husband who has been nothing but faithful to his spouse. MAY GOD GUIDE US ALL,
  7. "It seems Renilde has learned how to write during her many stays with these strange men.. I wonder if they teached her how to hold true to any of the vlaues she speaks as well.. This far she has shown no values worth more then a common worshipper of Iblees himself.. " the man looked around for a bit at the rest of the true Petran's who stand agaist her "I wonder... do you believe she received gifts from these fellows?"
  8. Sir Gwendel Vilac dipped his head, placing his hand behind Alberts back dipping his head "Your a brave son of Petra Albert.. A shining example of vyr papej" He'd then bring him with him to join the side of the Archduke, The true leader of Petra
  9. THE PARASITE OF THE RIVER PETRA 16th of Horen’s Calling 1909 “Renilde the Parasite of the River Petra during one of her nights with strange men” RENILDE I the Parasite of the River Petra a woman with no honor, who breaks her promise made under the sight of God and his shepherds. She who in her own faults betrays her people. As she attempts to gather foreign swords against all of Petra. While its people stand against her. None man or woman who has worked in service of Petra stand by her side, Her plans filled with heathen intent as she has broken the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony climbing into the bed of another then her husband The Archduke Constanz, Prince of Balian and the man the people themselves have chosen as their leader. Let it be known, that the people of Petra did not side with Renilde, The city itself was empty during the years Constanz was on his pilgrimage. None attending her courts, none attending her balls. There was no love for Renilde the Parasite of the River Petra. Written by, A True Petran
  10. Imminuta autem ductu “A lack of guidance” 13th of Harren's Folly 1908 “Andrik Otto, the lone Acolyte circa, 1890” It's been over a decade since I moved into the Commonwealth of Petra and during these years I have not seen a figure of the cloth more than once or twice. A lack of Acolytes in the gatherings of people. But is this lack of Acolytes due to a lack of faith or a lack of guidance? Because when it comes to the faith of the Petran people there is nothing lacking, they pray with one another, gather in their chapel, all without the guidance of us, the people of the cloth. Having held a vote some years ago, the leaders of this great little nation asked the public “Would you want to see a more active clergy and faith in Petra?” To this, 78% of the votes were in favor. The lack of faith in our home is no longer something I can sit and watch from the side. It's due to this that I have chosen to pick up the rags of the priests who came before me. My cross no longer hanging safe behind my armor but from this day clearly shown around my neck and above my robes. After all, are these not the most important duties of the cloth? Are we not to guide and aid the noble flock of GODs children? To keep them on a straight path, one in prosperity and joy? I believe so, as it is written in the Holy Scroll of Gospel, “In the kingdoms of Horen, he mingled strange and corrupt practices with the wisdom of holy men.” Scroll of Gospel, 5;34 Take on these words as it is our duty as the shepherds of God under the guidance of his elected Vicar to rid the world of strange and corrupt practices with the wisdom of Him as his holy men and shepherds of the flock. Written by, Acolyte Andrik Otto
  11. Sir Rev Vuiller clicked his tongue a bit as he looked towards Drako, the man leaning keeping his hands behind his back as he tilted his head "Did we niet agree for vy to keep her safe until her dying breath?"

  14. Sir Rev Vuiller, the former Count and Seneschal seemed confused looking down upon his grandchild from the Seven skies, his gaze turning towards Iulius "But this one was disowned, we signed the papers ourselves Iulius.. He is no Vernhart nor Vuiller.. And did he not get ordained as a priest?" He seemed baffled by what was going on down in the world of the living, yet he turned to his wife Diana "I'm just glad we can just rest now, this is not the dealings of us anymore"
  15. A HISTORICAL SOIRÉE It has been what feels like years since we have been able to gather, inviting not only our closest kin, but the people of our nations to drink with us, dance with us, and eat with us. Therefore, it pleases the members of house Vilac to invite the public to a celebration of history now that we have seen the clock of the world enter a new century. For, while not all follow the historical calendar of the Imperial times any longer, there was a time and place in the world where it was the calendar followed by close to all settlements on God’s terra. There are no special invitations, there is no hindrance of our welcome, any and all who shall knock at our door shall be allowed entry, their glasses filled to the brim, and their stomachs filled until they burst. Yet, there shall be a theme of the celebration! It is the wish of the gracious hosts that all dress as a historical figure: it need not be someone you have blood ties to, but simply a historical man or woman whom you look up to and wish to celebrate life of. With the love of GOD, and guidance of the Exalted, we eagerly await your acquaintance with open doors and brimming cups. Signed, Chronicler, Gwendel Victor Simon Vilac Legate, Persephone Maxima Vilac
  16. AGAINST A PACK It was a saint's day not much different to any other, yet on this particular day Gwendel had finally been able to find fresh tracks of the Direwolf he had been hunting for a multitude of years. Yet the day did not go as planned, as he followed the tracks he’d pause for a few moments, furrowing his brows he’d see the taxes of the believed lone wolf growing two the tracks of a pack. He drew his bow, climbing up on some rocks close by, as he laid in wait, it was clear from the traces that he had found the entry to the cave in which these beasts would find their resting place. As the night would come over them he kept his eyes set as he could see the frost of his own breath in front of him. And there they were, three direwolf counted. A larger white and scarred in color, clearly leading their pack as they walked before the Vilac. The second brown in fur, slightly smaller than the alpha following right behind. And lastly a younger direwolf, clearly not having reached adulthood yet, black in color similar to the cold winter sky. He nocked an arrow in the string of his bow, drawing it back as he’d take aim for the brown wolf. His hopes being to rid himself with as many of the beasts as possible before they would be able to reach him. He'd take another deep breath closing his eyes for mere moments before he’d let the arrow fly towards the wolf. A pitiful howl left the wolf as the arrow would enter its neck, it was seen stumbling a little before finally losing its footing collapsing on the ground. He’d draw another arrow, looking towards the two other wolves, yet his gaze could not spot the smaller of the three wolves, only the alpha standing before him as it would start to move towards the Vilac. Yet as he’d take aim to fire another arrow the younger wolf would suddenly jump him from the side wrapping his teeth around the man's left arm. A scream left him as he’d fall to the side off the rock, moving to get a grip of his axe as the wolf would continue to feast on his arm. he’d send his axe towards the wolfs side, yet the beast did not let go on its grip, thinking fastly he’d slam the wolf towards the stone on his side before once more sending his axe down finishing the wolf off. He’d stumble to his feet, blood pouring from his arm as he looked up to the alpha as it would rush towards him. He’d keep his already wounded arm before him as he’d raise his axe once more, knowing that this last stance was what would stand between him and life itself. After that he don’t remember to much, most of the final battle was up in smoke, all he remember was a horrible pain before kicking himself back towards a rock, looking to the body of the slain direwolf, his axe having severed its head clean from its body. He tried his best to collect himself, climbing up on his horse, after having been able to tighten a rope around the direwolf's head bringing it with him as he would ride into Petra. As the man entered the city he’d look around at the people gathered in the streets barely holding on before collapsing falling to the ground. Signed, Chronicler, Squire Gwendel Victor Simon Vilac

  22. SIR DUNCAN “THE HOUND” Knight of the Holy Orenian Empire 11th of Sun's Smile 1899 “Dignity in death” Sir Duncan “the hound” Vuiller often referred to as The mad hound of Providence was a man knighted during the reign of Philip III. The man had started his career within the Empire as a member of the Ministry of Justice before later on becoming a member of the Imperial State Army and the fourth brigade. During his life having faced many enemies and challenges, all while the Empire started to crumble around him. LIFE AND SERVICE In truth, Sir Duncan was a Norlandic born man who came to the Orenian Empire during the early years of the 1800s. Different stories have been told of what made him leave Norland, some say his family died tragically in a house fire while others has speculated that they were murdered or that Duncan were casted away in his youth for his energetic behavior and early shown force. Upon arriving in the Empire Duncan rather quickly had found his place within the Ministry of Justice, while serving he quickly rose through the ranks of the Ministry serving as its second in command for multiple decades. Yet while being a man appointed and holding office in courts of law he would most often be seen wearing his armor roaming the outskirts of the Empire. On the battlefield, he would often be sent as the first line of defense or strikes. his rather tall structure and broad build in itself giving off a fright towards the enemy. While having been given years of training in battle and rather well knowing how to wield a blade in a duel, something could be seen quickly changing in the visage of the man once he got a taste of blood, this giving him the moniker of the hound, or the mad hound of providence. His reputation upon the battlefield placed such a fright in the Orenian enemies during the War of the Wigs that one of the negative peace demands from the Dwarven side was the delivery of Duncan to dwarven side to stand trial before the obsidian throne. The Empire declined their demands, formally starting a world war and the official beginning of the end of the eight Empire. The man survived most of the war, only to be found slain with his neck torn out by his tower within the town of Vuillermoz. His armor melted and bruised, his arm broken and face beat. Who ever were behind the murder of the Knight never found, yet it was clear from the scene and state of the body that who or what ever ended the life of Sir Duncan “the Hound” was something of unnatural nature. Introduction to the Hall of Heroes It is due to his bravery, skill and legend in battle that we see it fit to introduce Sir Duncan “The Hound” Vuiller to the hall of heroes. His memory never to falter, his spirit guiding us as we enter the battlefield. May he give us courage and may our foes fear our banner, just as they did him. 23. William Falkenrath Witan of Curon 9th of Horen’s Calling 1899 “Dignity in death” To remember the heroes of centuries past is one of the most important duties of the Sons of Petra. Believing in the teachings that there is dignity in death and if you have lived a life worth remembering you have nothing to fear in death. WILLIAM FALKENRATH Ser William Falkenrath was born in the outskirts of most civilizations, the man spending most of his time as a child hunting in the wilderness surrounding his family’s home. As he grew older, he would meet a man named Jarrack Draskovits, the two growing to become comrades keeping to each other's company. later, becoming one of the founders of the Duchy of Curon next to Karl Devereux, Jarrack Draskovits, Fredrick von Cròe and The During his life William achieved a great many things, becoming the top Lieutenant of Curionian Huscarls, being the architectural mind behind the construction of Cyrilsburg, leading the common folk and ensuring their safety during the war between Curon and Santeiga as well as leading several raids ending in the Curonic control over the city of Santegia for a few months, during this capturing multiple Santegian nobles. ACTIONS WORTHY Stories told, and legends around the realm tell of William’s selfless acts of defending those who could not defend themselves. His weapon Bloodend is known as a symbol of strength and power from the times of war. Having striked down multiple nobles of their heathen enemies, his blad will always be remembered as a symbol of ensuring the sovereignty and saftey of Curon and her people. His care for the people of Curon and his bravery against their foes are what has brought his name to our hall. A man who we believe is suited to be an example of our belief that if you live a life worth living you shall hold no reason to fear death. It is from these actions and stories that we judge the memory of William Falkenrath, to judge if he is worthy of going down in history as a true Heartlandic hero. His story gathered and his legend carved into stone, the Sons of Petra have deemed him worthy of a place in the hall of heroes where his memory shall be kept until the end of times. CREATUS IN VITA, RECORDATUS IN MORTE CHRONICLER of the Sons of Petra, Gwendel Victor Vilac Prince of Vîlachia
  24. Gwndel Vilac kept his gaze towards the piece of paper informing of the return of the Prince. he'd dip his head as the Archduke spoke looking to the Commander of the Sons of Petra ready to follow their command to ensure peace in the heartlands.
