I was told the cooldown on herb nodes was 5 hours, did this change? The story team have a very warped perspective on what "fairly short" means if the cooldown is the same. And while we're at it since tech team said it was up to you all, the ST team, change the herbs to be player based instead of server based. I'm sick and tired of having to run halfway across the map to grab an herb from a node and see that someone else got to it first. Like I said in the tech discord we don't have fight over each other for vortex nodes, herbs should be the same. This is ESPECIALLY if the team want herbs to not only be used for signs but their innate abilities.

Its really starting to bother me that most of the playerbase here a few months ago **** talked how easy to get minas were and how absolutely worthless they were, but now actual changes to the economy on lotc have been made for the better and for some reason you all still just complain. Most of the problems I'm seeing here can literally be solved within roleplay (aka the smaller settlements who think the world team is out to get them now). As for the skinners that are here complaining, most of you already ask for irl money for your work, and for those of you that don't a single mina in Arcas is not the same value going forwards. You're still gonna have to gauge prices based off the economy. Last map 600 mina was reasonable for a skin, but going forwards probably isn't going to be acceptable, so you'll lower the price. BUT THATS OK because the value of mina has gone up. You're losing nothing unless you don't pay attention to the mina economy, and for those who are going to make the obvious argument of "well I shouldn't have to focus on the mean economy for prices" you did before these changes, and eventually after it rolls out you'll be able to gauge prices. Some of you commenting clearly didn't pass your economy classes, and it really shows...

You are not your character. Repeat that over and over until it sticks. If your character has homophobic tendencies because of what they were taught in roleplay this does not make you homophobic. There are many people I’ve seen on the server who are part of the LGBT spectrum on lotc who play characters who aren’t tolerant of homosexuality. Just for the love of god be tasteful with your roleplay if you’re doing it. Don’t just run around screaming slurs about gay people. If you can manage that then you’re not creating an environment of hate.

Of course its taboo its a magic that creates spirits. I feel that a magic that’s primarily viewed upon as evil should try to create villain rp instead of constantly hiding it away. I know that people like to meta game stuff like this but its no excuse to keep from trying to create rp. From the two months that I’ve played no one really knows about mysticism IRP because of the fact that those who hold the magic do nothing to try and create rp with it. As for it being more “prestigious” that only sounds like its passed around in close knit OOC circles. Much like other magic. Of course you should have significant rp to be able to get the magic but let’s be real here... sometimes thats just not the case. Its sometimes more about OOC and who knows who OOCly than how much work goes in when it comes to rp. Also I did say some ST’s and not all ST’s are memeing him. I do think its better to actually give criticism to the guy like you did instead of just posting memes.

What makes “high quality” & “low quality” RP? Its a pretty simple line to follow honestly. If you’re doing emotes such as *swings sword and give no details at all, that is low quality rp. Give me details, and as cringey as it may sound, immerse me. I want to feel like I’m my character interacting with yours through fighting, speech, body language, etc. If you’re actively trying to create a good roleplay scenario and giving it your all then I feel like you’re giving high quality rp. - How can low quality RP impact the server? If everyone gave low quality rp the server would die with a quickness. If you’re actively playing and spending time on lotc and not putting effort into your rp then what are you doing here? Low quality rp will always make the server look dull and boring and can drive away new players. If two months ago the first rp I had saw was someone doing the bare minimum in terms of rp I would have left as would most new players if they had that kind of experience. As an rp based community we should automatically work together to make this world one thats immersive and fun. - What makes RP engaging? This is different for everyone. I had a conversation with some friends in discord a week ago or so that talked about how basically they played lotc like its CK2. Which isn’t bad at all, I mean some of them that have this mindset are some of the best roleplayers I’ve seen on the server to this day. For me what makes rp engaging is when I can tell you’ve thought out small and maybe insignificant details about your character. I’m more engaged in your rp when your character has flaws, fears, and worries. If you’re just a blank slate hero that's all noble and fears nothing then you’ve already lost me. Its the characters interactions and such that make this server so engaging to me. - Your favorite niche of RP? My favorite niche falls between 2 real types which is crafting rp, and combat rp. Now CRP is kind of terrible on this server because of the whole “Everyone is afraid of their character losing a fight or dying on a server where perma-death isn’t a thing unless you choose it.” but if I can find someone that’s fair and isn’t going to powergame then I don’t care to spend a lot of time on one fight, and even if I lose and die I’m not gonna be salty because I know the RP was fun. Crafting RP for me is so much fun because of the item creation system in place on the server. I love having my character emote tinkering with a pocket watch he found in Helena and figuring out how it works, then using that knowledge to make his own watch. I can even see myself eventually getting into things like smithing and roleplaying crafting weapons and making useful items. - Is there a storyline or long-term RP scenario that you thoroughly enjoyed at one point? (Preferably not an eventline – something more player made). One of my child characters is a bratty little ***** that likes to play pranks on people even if they seem mean or rude. I’ve loved the rp its created and he’s even grown a bit from some of the interactions he’s had because of all his pranks.
