whats the deal with the eclipse thing. shouldn't the entire world be a frozen hellscape if the sun has been blocked out for more than a few days, let alone irp months?
or have staff just not changed it back. or its just a "dont think about it too hard its just meant to look cool, moment"-
@squakhawkthank you for a good reply exlaining the situation, my opinion has been more informed.

@Java17not irl ones, because they last like 5 minutes. but this one has been going on for a few irp months, hence my argument.
and like i said, it doesn't have to be world ending or anything, just a world emote like "hey temperature is lower by 5 degrees" or whatever. coz idk how to go about the entire realm being in permanight

@Hunnicblood rain would be better, since it would be like, a temporary thing and something that makes sense like you said that it rains after xan died.
i dont think people realise how serious blocking out the sun would be, its like some goofy apocalypse YA novel type shit, were people have to move underground to get heat from the earth because the surface is a barren ice land. ion see people walking around with headlamps and shit, haven't seen people to ANY rp acknowledging it even. i reckon most noobs dont even know whats going on and thinkg 'guess the server is night time for a bit.'
if staff made a post like 'hey, you should all rp being cold or crops dying.' it would get things going, otherwise people will just keep complaining about nations not engaging with anything world affecting. Nations LIKE that kind of RP, as evidenced by the eternal winter of haense, people were doing roleplay cleaning up the ice, provisioning food, etc. it only got annoying because it dragged on for far longer than it should have, and the snow was causing massive amounts of lag.
give people unique rp opportunities and people will engage with them.

@Elennanorewould be good if staff did a world event saying like 'everything feels cold, or plants are dying' so more people knew what to do. doesn't even have to be realistic, just SOMETHING

What nation or group would be good enough for diplomacy roleplay? I know most of this stuff is pre-planned OOC, but I wanted to do some politician type stuff IN CHARACTER, even if it's not as important. I'm not a fan of military things, though!!
For context, I have a character who prefers speeches than outright being violent and I'm struggling to find anything worthwhile with him!

can we normalize having announcements for bans made or something. idk I just wanna hear this shit first hand
-
agreed, not having announcements made for bans is very weird, just results in more ooc gossip and speculation. i dont see why people are not allowed to know if someone was banned, if its for sensitive reasons then simply do not mention the parties involved. It would be safer for communities if people knew why someone was banned.

There is a disconnect between nation players and general magic players which I find hilarious.
There could be an insane cataclysmic event occurring and none of the nation players wont care at all or participate. On the flipside the magic players will continue to get 10 or less upvotes on their posts and no one will know who the hell they are.

I agree with @Xarkly
Idk why ST assume, that NLs don't want lore stuff coz it will break their cities. I think anyone would kill for an ST to do an eventline and test up the city (does who do complain about that are inferior to insects imo)
It's generally as Xarkly says, just very little interaction between lore and playerbases. Not only applies to humans, but dwarves as well, dwarves are also more history based, though they are more magic literate.
Plus, not like if people even wanted to interact with certain lore pieces, they wouldn't be able to since its just a lorepost on the forums that doesn't affect anything.
There has been more interaction with magic groups now than ever since I joined mid Almaris.
People dont give a damn about some random group of noname voidal acolytes. Everyone knows Gash, The paladin-drazi war picking up attention, etc.

Is there room for 11* fully autonomous human nations/ settlements? This is the most egregious example but similar anecdotes can be found relating to other racial/ multiracial hubs; do we have too many spaces relative to our player base now, which has remained effectively the same size since the Pandemic?
(This is a question. I don't claim to have the answer. I'd like to see yours, though!)-
Something i've noticed when going back in previous maps is also the sheer amount of nations, towns, settlements. I dont think this is a new issue, or even if it is an issue at all. Inactive settlements only cause problems/stress for the leaders of those places. not the average person who just rps where they like

Considering Orcs are a fairly active nation and all the other nations get GMs I feel that we are entitled to one (1) orcish gm

A big thankyou to the Dwarves for being absolutely stellar to run events for these last couple of months.

what about making a rule stating that people cannot recruit pvpers from other servers during wartime in an attempt to to win wars

malins-welco.me has a new calendar (welcome Hyspia) and a new header which looks pretty nice if I do say so myself.
If YOUR nation has a calendar that is not on the site please let me know so I can add you in.

MORE NATIONS
ROAD TO 500 NATIONS
-
I dont mind new nations. To me the dead nation meme is pretty much without substance since its practically impossible to have something be truly dead on the server. Each nation has at least a minimum of like 1 family that is active and has an interest in the nation's activity, so it will never truly die, just chug along. People who say dead nations, cant point out a single one.
Edited by _RoyalCrafter_
Issue with many nations to me, is just splitting of player bases, it would be easier of staff put in roads to travel to said nations immediately when they are implimented for one. Aeltarys still doesn't have a warp to it as far as I know. Another issue is homogeneity. Save for Hyspia, the new nations that got accepted aren't the most unique. @MailC3p
