  2. The Wyvern in the Woodlands ( I liked your border, so I yoinked it @_RoyalCrafter_ ) Premise Introduction High above the dense forest of the Crothstad Woodlands, travelers and locals alike catch glimpses of a dark, soaring shape against the sky. As dawn breaks, a wyvern can be seen gliding through the misty cliffs, its massive wings casting ominous shadows over the villages of Reinmar, Haense, Nevahalen, & Urguan. Its scales are rough and jagged, resembling slabs of granite or weathered shale, with hues ranging from deep gray to rusty brown. Its piercing call releases echoes through the canyons, sending flocks of birds scattering, and small boulders rolling down cliffs.. Farmers pause in their fields, and merchants stop their caravans, gazing upward with a mixture of awe and fear. Some swear they saw the wyvern dive close to a high mountain pass, snatching an animal from the ground before disappearing into the clouds. Rumors spread quickly of a new lair deep within the mountain range, hidden away in a forgotten cavern where the wyvern guards a trove of valuable relics… MILITARY REPORT - 558 E.S. 18th of Wzuvar and Byvca [!] Below is a report sent to the High Command of the BSK, written by an unknown Armsman A dragon has been sighted within the Crothstad Woodlands to the west. I’m not sure how much time we have, but that beast is incredibly dangerous, I do not believe we can take this beast down with just a handful of soldiers. The dragon seems to have established its territory within the Woodlands, I am recommending siege equipment to be used, or else I fear nothing else will be able to kill it. Weeks prior to this sighting, locals residing on the outskirts of the Woodlands reported unusual sightings. They described hearing the screams of a great beast accompanied by ground tremors. Wildlife, typically stable in the area, exhibited frantic behavior, fleeing their usual habitats. These reports prompted an initial investigation, during which it was discovered that many creatures - Great Elk, Grizzly Bears, Imps, Direwolves etc - are seen roaming outside of their usual territory, as if something was pushing them out. I can only assume it is the presence of the dragon within the Woodlands claiming territory that is causing this. Finally, The House of Baruch, whose keep lies deep within the Crothstad Woodlands, faces an imminent and critical threat from this dragon. The presence of such a creature near their stronghold could result in catastrophic consequences if no precautions are taken. It is strongly recommended that an immediate warning be sent to the House of Baruch. Additionally, a scouting party should be deployed to track the dragon’s movements and further assess its behavior. This matter requires urgent attention and decisive action.

  9. Art by: Plastiboo THE BEGINNING A dark malevolent storm brews over the various nations of Aevos. Across the realm of man, a colossal, magical symbol burns above in the sky as it suddenly materializes, casting an eerie aura. A heavy, oppressive aura clung to the lands, suffocating life with its sinister presence. The once vibrant fields now lay in decay, overrun by a necrotic infestation that seeped into the very soil, corrupting everything it touched. The air began heavy, and the smell would burn the lungs of the living ever so slightly, should one stay within these corrupted lands for an extended period of time, sickness would begin to befall them. Moments later, the ground beneath each symbol trembles as ancient tomb entrances, long hidden and forgotten, violently erupt from the earth. Massive doors, etched with runes from a bygone era, worn by time, creak open, releasing tendrils thick, black smog that seeped into the air, carrying an ominous energy. Blackened tendrils of rot crept across the landscape, spreading death in its wake, while a dark, unnatural fog loomed overhead. An eerie silence befell the lands around, pierced only by the faint whispers of the lost, echoing from the shadows. These sorrowful lands began to attract spirits and evil creatures of the night, as if drawn to the malevolent aura surrounding it. No living thing dared tread here without risking the taint of the cursed plague that had claimed the land. Within the doorway, a swirling magical portal materializes, pulsating with an ethereal glow, as if beckoning adventurers to step forward into the unknown depths beyond. The air buzzes with anticipation and dread, hinting at the secrets and dangers that lie within. Art by: Plastiboo THE EXCURSIONS BEGIN In response to the sudden emergence of these ancient tomb entrances, nations hastily gather and deploy their bravest soldiers and most skilled knights to explore the foreboding depths of the unknown. Armed with the finest weapons and spells, these warriors venture into the dark, ethereal portal, driven by a mix of duty, fear, and the hope of untold riches that could potentially change their lives. However, the dungeons prove to be more treacherous than imagined; deadly traps, undead foul creatures, and ancient curses lie in wait within the twisting corridors. Many never return, their fates sealed in the darkness, while those who manage to escape often do so scarred, bearing tales of horrors unimaginable. The loss of life and the lingering mysteries only deepen the dread surrounding the tomb, as nations grapple with the perilous decision to continue their descent into the unknown. The various entrances to the Tomb, with their sinister allure and promise of power, knowledge, and gold, twist the very souls of those who dare enter. Even the most chivalrous knights and honorable soldiers, once guided by duty and virtue, find their morals eroded by the dungeon’s dark influence. The air within the dungeon was thick with an overwhelming stench of rot, decay, and the unmistakable taint of necromancy, boded only that death itself has rooted itself in its depths. The necrotic odor was suffocating, a vile mixture of rotting flesh, damp earth, and something far more unnatural. Each breath felt like inhaling pure corruption, burning the lungs and clinging to the skin. The walls seemed to ooze with it, seeping through the cracks and filling the chambers with an aura of despair, horror, and anxiety so intense, it made even the hardiest adventurer’s stomach turn. The oppressive atmosphere within the Tomb, coupled with the tantalizing glint of treasurer and forbidden relics, awakens a ravenous hunger deep within. THE SIN OF GREED, insidious and relentless, takes hold: valor gives way to ruthless ambition, camaraderie crumbles under suspicion, the noble become consumed by a lust for wealth and glory. The dungeon does not just claim lives—it corrupts the spirit, leaving even the most righteous hearts tainted and lost in their quest for more. [OOC] A message from Petsch2k I’d like to thank everyone who’s participated so far. Roughly 72-80 players have interacted within the dungeon so far. I was a bit nervous with how everything would go, and if players would enjoy it. Thankfully I’ve heard nothing but good things. Now, understandably things can be improved upon and so I will ask you guys to please respond to the form below. It is Anonymous! All it’s asking is for feedback. Thanks again everyone, let’s continue this dungeon dive! There’s a lot more to explore! Tomb of Horrors - Anonymous Feedback Join the Eventline Discord!
