  1. Farren raises a brow, considering he destroyed all the anvils in Anthos with the Hammer of Ardol. Considering he can still do Golemancy without an anvil, no way would such a thing exist. And considering only himself, and another now deceased dwarf knows how to create another one he is thoroughly confused.
  2. I would rather be "clicked to death" in a few short seconds if I have to log out or go afk. Rather than spending 15mins - 1hour of emote fighting. People who will abuse the system will always exist. Be if RP Default or PVP Default. Either way in regards to expanding roleplay, rather than forcing it upon people. Shouldn't we try to encourage it? The best way to do that is to do so in game, rather than on the forums trying to force change.
  3. Farren would like to point out that Fimlin is wrong. Since it'll most likely being the list being reversed, considering Chase removed a lot of Paragons and added a few without consulting the Prophets.
  4. Hi I'm Dave. Basicly over the last few days/weeks I've been hearing the same type of statements over and over. "Oh I'm fed up of this map, Fringe is boring... I'll do it in 4.0." , ect.... Well considering it's not really in our best interest to rush 4.0 . The question arises should we go to another temp map? Similar to how we went from Elysium to Kalos. Lore reasoning aside yes or no? Post thoughts or whatever you want to say down below. That's it... Just vote, I don't really know what else to say for now blah blah....
  5. Tarren shakes his head at Wulfgar's comment, muttering. "Starbreaker oppression..."
  6. Farren nods in agreement as he begins to clap. "About bloodeh time!"
  7. Farren shakes Farren nods in agreement with Baleks words. "Never were truer words said. For when you think about it, many cave dwarves have some Ironborn Blood in then, due to the Blood Age. So what will you do? Slay every cave dwarf in sight? What we must halt is the legacy of the Ironborn, and those who seek to rebuild the Empire of Khorvad. Dizzy if he was corrupted must step down, that is true. Maybe bar him from running for such positions due to the corruption. If that is the case, but for the love of Anabella can we stop this Ironborn charade?"
  8. Why were you guys always late? Like seriously I remember as an Oren Guard we were fighting off Undead. Then the Ascended roll in when the actions all over going "It's fine now, we're here!". Appearing after the fight.
  9. ((MC name: tethras )) Name: Farren Starbreaker Candidates ---------------------------- Fimlin Grandaxe Vorstag Grandaxe Jorik Grandaxe X ---------------------------
  10. Farren glances at the crazed dwarf, shouting his ramblings. Resisting the urge to laugh and mock, the former great dwarf he returns to drink his ale. Giving one last sigh as dwarf who had succumbed to madness left. Before returning to mumble to himself on how his precious undercity has been defiled.
  11. Also can we do media competitions? Like a minas prize for the winner, or like t1-2 donation or something? Gets the community more involved, and might help create better content. Depending on the theme that is.
  12. I'll be brutally honest here, you have to be really harsh when you choose who does the voicing. Honestly, in most trailers including the one quoted above by Susitsu the voicing makes me cringe. Seriously, it makes me feel bad for playing the server. It's harsh but that's the blunt truth. With voicing I'll break it down to what I feel is crucial. Voice - Peoples voices are important, it's basicly sets someone's first impression of you and the server. I think this goes more for the person who's doing the interview rather than the person they're interviewing. You need to find a Morgan Freeman of LoTC, and if you can't then find someone's who's close enough. Because you really don't want people who sound like this. Tone - Don't be too serious all the time, LoTCBC is an example of that. Have fun with it, unless it's something like a trailer. Then you have to be serious... Well kinda. Overly serious makes me want to cringe, like I end up treating it as one of those videos I would go out of my way to close down as soon as someone enters the room out of pure shame just from watching it. Content - I think others touched on this but if it's full of inside jokes and unknown references no ones gonna get it. Not to mention the content varies on what you're doing. Stick to forum post for news, and focus on showing off big battles. Doing some sort of "Let's plays", podcast and livestreams. I would advise, to make LoTC seem less "nerdy". So people don't get put off by it. Overall I'm not a fan of LoTC related content that involves people speaking. Since normally it's too serious and makes me feel embarrassed to watch it, and not in a good way at all. Stuff like "LoTC with me" or whatever Zilldudes thing was called (sorry) is fine though. Because it doesn't take itself seriously, it's just someone having fun. Not overly nerdy and really just a laugh. What am I trying to get at? Avoid "official" content involving the need for people to speak unless you have someone with a great voice, and try to make LoTC seem less "nerdy". I think that's one thing that puts people off roleplaying and LoTC. Make it seem more casual and fun, rather than strict and boring. Podcast, livestreams and recordings are fine. But try to sound like you're having some sort of fun, not like the Media Team Leader has a gun pointed to your head. Or vice versa. Apart from that do what Coaster said, big battles and stuff. Show more Mc related things, like plugins and wars. Rather than a wall of text, showing someone raising his hand to greet you. Short and sweet, people are lazy and want to see things happening. Rather than walls of text, forcing them to lean forward and read the screen. Last note, I do hate the term nerd, geek, ect. But that's how people will view it, and I did say I would be brutally honest in what I think. #Rambleover Edit: Now this does not mean I dislike the media team, in fact I enjoy some of their work. I feel it's not just the media team that needs to change, but also us. We need to be a bit more ready to say if we like things, or otherwise the MT will go into an endless loop of not knowing what the playerbase wants. To gently give them a push, after all they're not those who've spend years making trailers for large companies, ect. Just people who happen to be good with a camera or a pen, or whatever. And I'll truly end on that note.
  13. "Tu Engineers are actualleh doing somefin wif tu underciteh? Or in fact anyfin at all?" Farren says, chuckling slightly as he reads the notice. "Last ah saw, was some rubble everywhere, an nae actual work bein' done. In fact more ov ah defilement ov friends work un tu place. Which I have half a mind tu claim back..."
  14. Well considering you can just raid a group into submission now. Kinda like what happened to the Elves, I do have to laugh. To quote Ned Lud: But who knows? I could be wrong.
  15. Don't forget the convenient hole, where if you fire down said hole it'll blow up!
  16. I've always roleplayed assuming steel is a thing. Either way I don't really see a problem with it, considering iron is roleplayed as steel by most players. Either way if it becomes a "thing" or not it doesn't really matter. Since either way at this stage everyone will be on the same playing field by having steel. Edit: I've never had a problems with roleplaying steel. Haha, sure I heard mentioned of the orc "poop" crafted steel. But GM's didn't mind, in fact they only minded when people tried to have weapons named after historical things such as "Excalibur." So maybe it's a recent thing? Or just down to the GM?
  17. As Hiebe stated, no more sons of Urguan. It helps keep stability, not to mention saves us a lot of issues with people claiming they have things from Urguan because they're a son, ect. I would be more of a lost clan with it's founders father not known. Like most clans are these days. The way it works there are eight sons of Urguan. But Dwarves in rp state seven, calling the eight (the Ironborn) the "Forbidden son." Saves us a lot of issues that way, rather than everyone claiming they are Urguans sons. Changing things to suit their clan, such as making out they were favoured with gifts or abilities, ect. Cliff Dwarves, can just be the characteristics of the founder dwarf. Doesn't need to be a son of Urguan. Personally I'm against this, seeing I don't really see the point in another subrace. It just further divides the playerbase, which to be honest isn't as big as people think. But go for making a clan with this culture. I just feel that the forest dwarves tried the whole, "we're isolated." It doesn't work, the Dwarves have shown that they want the subraces/clans to interact to mesh in their cities. Not for one of them to kinda go off on their own. Edit: Just a note with subraces, take the recent Doomforge or the Thunderfirst wierd mutation. You don't have to be a son of Urguan to have "unique traits". Could come from simple evolution, or mutation.
  18. I would have to disagree, bias will always be there. It's better to try and get two nations to cooperate rather than having a group shoving it down their throats. It's like the playground rules, if you and another person can't play nice then don't play at all. The attitude these days in player base is a good one, most players are willing to let warclaims happen. It's just a matter of the two sides cooperating to sort out fair terms. I think maybe a review of the war rules, to make sure they're up to date. So there's no misunderstandings. But War Mods or a war team would be bad considering every Admin, GM or player has some affiliation to at least one nation. There's always going to be bias. This idea reminds me of the Nation Leader chat, when people disagreed it just didn't work. Eventually de-evolving into a people squabbling like infants calling each other "retards, ect." So nah, I don't think it'll work. Sounds too idealistic to me.
  19. To be fair, they're not denying it because they don't want to fight. Wars are fun with more people, from what I see he's simply asking for the time to be changed so he can get more of his guys on. Look: If you read it, he doesn't say anything about not wanting to fight because he thinks he'll lose ,ect. But to get more guys on. Work with people, not against them. If anything it seems he's willing. At any rate I think this is an apt song for what seems to be the "Fall of the Snelves."
  20. I think also a problem is that is roleplay rewarding for that person? The way the server works now is that most things, you don't really need to rp to get or achieve. Or even if you do rp slightly, what decides that you get the role are OOC factors not RP. I do agree that's a necessity with some things, for example Military organisations where the leader has to be at least competent in PvP. But it's starting spill into other things, so maybe we should look at ways to make roleplay more rewarding for people?
  21. That feeling when your base is just outside the map limit... Noooooo

Does that affect you with the rules or something? How does that affect your base?

      Wolf Druid Ouity

Maybe a nice mod would help you out if you modreq'd?

  22. As Ever stated I think it would ruin the surprise. Maybe a video of shift walking around some parts of the map? Or some screenshots when it's built up a bit more? The map is small, and I hope people realise this. But there's no need for an "inspection team". The MT should be able to show parts of it off well enough without ruining the surprise.
  23. Farren raises a brow, as he reads the letter. Muttering (Written without the accent): "Good words, let's hope he doesn't disappoint, aye? Maybe though we should call him the Iron King. Irongut? Get it? Bah! The only problem it may be mistaken for the Ironborn. But at any rate... Narvak oz da Bak Thrummaz!"
  24. Farren shakes his head. (Written in common) "I'm afraid that's where you're wrong. It was in fact Yemekar who taught Runesmithing to our kind. Drormmar gave us the perversion that is one of the forms of "Dark Runes" often called Flesh Runes. He merely helped our kind developed the art, although he did provide the Runelords of old aid against Ondnarch. Providing them with the material to create the Kal'Varak in which Ondnarch was sealed in for a time until he was purified."
  25. We could remove ET, but what then? It's all well and good to say that players and GM's will run events. But will they? Honestly, but staff and players are lazy. We players are lazy, since we just ask an ET to do a random event for us random that planning one. The staff, leaving it to others, or simply not taking initiative. The Gm's who do events are normally part of the ET or Antag. It's all well and good calling for a removal of ET, but will it actually have a positive change on the situation? It may force us to do events on us, own but it'll definitely put more pressure on the GM's. Considering the way things are going, I doubt they would cope. So maybe a change in the GM team before removal of the ET?
