    How do I revert back to 1.6.4 and keep from auto-updating? My technical prowess is about as poor as Mojang's.

      Load up MC. In the bottom left of the launcher hit Edit Profile. Go to Use Version to select 1.6.4. It shouldn't update, but if it does you can set it back.
