everything is inspired by IRL. wood elves very native-american inspired, for example. high elves have strong greco-roman elements in their architecture.
it's even in fiction like warcraft. night elf culture takes from japanese and greco-roman elements.
inventing something that's never been seen IRL before is basically an impossible task. You're always sampling from other things, whether you are aware of it or not. Nothing is original. People assemble things from their various influences whether consciously or unconsciously.
no LOTC culture is more original than any other.

urara you make some pretty good points that i agree with, it's just that most often with humans and their new culture groups, it's always just a very similar rip from something irl. it's not borrowing elements for architecture or certain ways of life, it's just copying historical things and slightly changing names to not be direct 1:1 copies, and... not much else :(
sometimes they just look like racial stereotypes being injected into RP too cough (that's just on individual players tho)
