"James was good and pious." -Gsp 6:57 "Zacarias was loyal." -Gsp 7:7 Who were James and Zacarias? By Pseudo-Clement Not many individuals are mentioned in the scriptures; in the Four Holy Scrolls alone and not counting any deutocanonical text, the Canon only lists nineteen (19) mortal individuals by name [see note 1] (the Primordial Man and Woman had no names, Gsp 1:29). James and Zacarias are two of those lucky few, and they play vital roles within the life and ministry of the Prophet Godfrey. James is first on the scene- when the lords quarreled over the rites and hymns of the faith (Gsp 6:49-54), God sent James to bade the lords to listen to Godfrey's call for peace and harmony (Gsp 6:55-56). "The priests were humbled" (Gsp 6:57) and Godfrey anointed James with the horn and laurel as high priest (Gsp 6:58-60), naming him "pontifex, for you are a builder of bridges" (Gsp 7:61). With the laurel upon James' head, "the faithful were united" (Gsp 7:62), thus fulfilling Godfrey as the "savior of men" who brought peace upon the lands of men (Gsp 7:63). After this, James is not mentioned further in scripture. Right after the story of James comes the conspiring of the seneschal Reynard. Reynard had at first heeded the word of God and gave the crown of Renatus to Godfrey (Gsp 6:25-28); however, he later grew resentful of his new subservient position to Godfrey (Gsp 7:2-3). He turned to one of Godfrey's servants, a man named Zacarias (Gsp 7:4), who was a son of the last king (Ezekial Tarus), and attempted to swoon him to rise up to press to his claim (Gsp 7:5-6). Contrary to Reynard's plans, however, Zacarias was loyal (Gsp 7:7). He chastised Reynard for not believing and holding faith in God's choice in Godfrey (Gsp 7:8-9) and later warned Godfrey of Reynard's machinations, leading to his eventual banishment (Gsp 7:10). Zacarias is not mentioned further in the scriptures. James mended the countless schisms and sects throughout Renatus and greater Orenian during the time-period, achieving the first dogmatic harmony is over one thousand years. Though we attribute the modern pontificate to figures like St. Lucien of Ulmsbottom and St. Everard of Alkhazar, James is the only one mentioned specifically in the Canon as a figure of the contemporary high priesthood. Zacarias acted in faith and loyalty to God and His bestowment of Godfrey with the laurels of prophecy. Despite being related to the previous monarch and in many cases well within his right to pursue a valid claim, he choice Love of God over the vanities of the world. Zacarias is the archetype of the ardent servant, the humble and content man whose only desire is following the word of God. Through only paltry research, I guarantee there are miracles throughout history attested to both these figures' names and intercessions. In conclusion, I submit this open petition to the Church, its clerics, and all those willing to read. In the recent trend of canonizing important and holy figures of the Canon (Saints Clement and Evaristus, St. Tara; Helena VIII), I believe James and Zacarias should be considered for canonization. There is a difference between RPly connecting yourself to a preexisting lineage (like Godfrey to Horen) and fabricating entire nations, courts, continents entirely divided from the main server, to the point that people have created entire empires within their head. They can do this, sure, but it has no space in a resource which is meant for EVERYONE, not just themselves. The FamilyEcho is meant to be a resource for houses and families that are played currently, not for people to fantasize about made-up kingdoms that have no bearance on the server or its RP. Fictitious characters are kept at a minimum and should only be for pre-server events or when it is absolutely necessary. All because the current Empire depended on Aeldin connections doesn’t mean the practice is right either. Aeldin-spamming needs to stop and people need to stop using it as a go-to copout. Empire in the last year, two years has made great strides in keeping everything within server and not having bizarre, fabricated Aeldin spawns. You may not see it as an issue, but it does take away from the actions of true realms and kingdoms actually played and ran by players when rando #5 can devise an entire royal line from a made-up place that never once could be found on the server. Small fabrications here and there are okay, but full-blown Aeldin lines that never have been played on the server need to go.

Aeldin is a server-approved landmass; however, a few nameless individuals decided to spam characters from Aeldin on the FamilyEcho (mainly made up royalty) in order to give prestige to their own families or out of their own fantasies. I have been slowly cleaning them out but it’s difficult work. Besides the spam of Aeldin characters, majority of the characters post-1300 were actually played (pre-1300 is all pre-Aegis and so are all historical lore figures).

I'll keep this as brief as possible. After someone bombed the common-use FamilyEcho, there has been a lot of confusion as to what is now the official tree and what is the future of the human genealogical project. When I originally began this project over six years ago, my philosophy was to have an open source and easy to access pedigree for humanity; however, over recent months people have abused this trust and used the platform for incessant trolling, bickering, and all sorts of naughty things. We have come to the point where there needs to be more oversight as to who gets access and who edits what on the family tree. After speaking with some of the human nation leaders (including @Rudi and @KosherZombie) and with the help some fantastic people like amyselia (@amyselia) the 'official' family tree is here. Edit perms are entirely tied to an ooc card in order to manage who has perms and to see who is editing what.
