  2. Who thinks we should have some sorta fun event the day before the map changes since items won't matter? Maybe a PvP tourney with all equipment allowed?

  6. You have to always keep in mind with magic lore on LotC that there are exact parameters that the magic should be within. Consuming a metal, for instance, would do nothing more than have a metal go through your digestive tract then be expelled. Nothing fancy would happen. One way results like what you described can be had though through alchemy such as the stone skin potion. All lore has to be built within the confines of implemented lore if it wants a chance of being accepted. The only other option is to literally go and write completely new lore for a completely new magic archetype. It could be done and accepted, but it would have to have extremely unique subject matter when compared to other lore, be very well written, and be balanced and well thought out/supported as a theory/concept. Additionally, it would probably be advisable for it to be a general enough idea that other things like it could be made from it. LotC has its own magic lore that almost all current magic has stemmed from and usually follows. It is the reason I still to this day can not figure out how to make time magic since as far as I know making time in the void is probably impossible. (Do not even get me started on time magic...)
  7. Ah you are right; I did not notice the spoiler. Anyways, I am not sure whether you can actually make and pull the conceptual idea of something melting from the void. Even if you could, it still sounds a whole lot like alteration minus the mist effect. Bringing up the mist effect, I would suggest figuring out exactly what is happening while deconstructing/melting a material and how it mixes with the aura to create these effects. It still might be put through the ringer by the LMs, but it should help smooth out some kinks. I have some suggestions to help get you started. One way you could do it is say that as the exhaust from destroying/melting the object rises, it mixes with the newly created aura to give the resultant cloud added effects. This, at the very least, is a good starting point for further development of the idea. I would also strongly urge you to figure out the exact method in which the item is being destroyed. Frankly, the actual ability to disintegrate something by touching it for a long period of time could be a magic all its own. You might look into having the technique of destroying an item being a fundamental building block in the learning of the magic. Another magic that has something similar is Cognitism where you must first learn to use the spectators eye technique to even use the magic. In fact, this is a great comparison where Cognitism is practically Illusion magic that someone has focused on using on themselves. This magic, as well, is a magic that could rely on the destroying of objects through alteration, but is different therein by mastering the technique of misting and by specializing their use of Alteration to only disintegrate things. This not only would make the magic make more sense, but also give it a place in the list of magics. In other words, this magic would fit snugly into alteration as its own magic that uses part of the magic and a technique to create unique and skilled results. Try and consider what I have written down. I know most feedback is either considered positive or negative, but I am trying to do both by giving you suggestions on how to tweak it to make more sense and be more likely to get accepted. I hope that was helpful. ^^
  8. It is an odd magic. I am most concerned with how the material is burned and how these different materials create different effects. Almost all magic has its roots in logic; however, this magic seems to just, "work," from what I have read. Additionally, mana serves no purpose in any magic that I know of other than to connect to the void. Using it as you describe seems more like a technique within a magic rather than a magic in and of itself. What I mean is it sounds more like using alteration to melt an object and the mist effect happens in response. The second part I do not get is how these different materials create different effects, and I think a set list needs to be available of what does what to avoid powergaming. For example, one person could say charcoal makes an explosion while another says it makes a mist like you did. That is not the greatest problem, however, The greatest problem is how these materials being burnt would create anything more than a cloud of aura that could be moved around here and there harmlessly. It could be that iron vs coal would have iron making a thicker cloud due to the added strain in destroying it, but realistically a thicker cloud is only a thicker cloud. It would, hypothetically speaking, be as dangerous as a cloud of room temperature water vapor that you could control (water evocation). Those are my issues with the magic; it just does not seem fleshed out enough to be its own thing.
  9. So to be clear, it is as robust as carbarum, but it cannot be worked to the same degree of edge?
  10. I swear I will never understand how critical some people can be on games. When I was a kid I just loved playing good games. It was only when I came onto the internet I started to notice the little silly problems that I would normally roll my eyes at are game ruining for other people. I will never get it.

  12. So I was chilling in the shower thinking about what the difference between an otaku and weeaboo actually is. The conclusion I came to is that they are basically the same thing. The difference being an otaku actually is Japanese, but they share almost all of the same interests at similar levels.

Nah Oblivion is pretty much right. An Otaku is a japanese person with the weird obsession. A weaboo is some non-japanese person who takes it a step further by trying to be japanese in a really odd way.
