  1. In Rezas Fields, 1717 In Rezas fields the Carnation blow Between the stones row on row That mark our place; and in the sky The Crows, still bravely singing fly Scarce heard amid the fight below We are the Dead; Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow The dead were loved, and now we lie In Rezas fields, in Rezas fields And now we lie in Rezas fields Take up your quarrel with Renatus: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though Carnation grow In Rezas fields, in Rezas fields We shall not sleep, through Carnation grow In Rezas fields, in Rezas fields.
  2. The Human Crisis: A Division of Spirit and the Orenian Resolve 8th of Snow Maiden 1717 Va Birodeo Herzenav e Edlervik, We stand at the cross roads to history, the summer soldier and sunshine supporter will in crisis shrink from their service to Oren. Let it be know that no great triumph was accomplished without first great hardship. Those who stand by us now deserves the love and thanks of all people of Oren. The tyranny of Pertinaxi vices is not one that we easily be diminished, but like all conflict and all tribulation, we derive the strength and resolve to achieve glorious triumph. Renatus with its armies believe they can bind us in chains; burn our homes and slaughter our families. They are fools to believe that terror can be used to break our will, for tyranny like hell is not so easily overcome. I have faith that GOD the highest of all mortal and immortal authority will not allow to be engulfed by military or political destruction, nor leave them without support, for the cause of true freedom and morality is at stake. I, for one, cannot see in any means that the so-called ‘Emperor’ of Renatus can look to the Seven Skies for help against us; a renowned heretic, a dishonorable pretender, a sower of disunion, and an agent of violence and murder has nothing to offer to the source of all good. It is quite surprising how the flow of panic and dismay runs through a nation. Of course, all nations have endured such phenomena. Renatus trembles at the resolute and unwavering stature of the Holy Orenian Empire, whose dedication to the Rule of Law and the freedoms of a good people are at the core of that mission. By Saint Peter’s sake, we will be victorious. The present times call for us to remain loyal and express all fidelity to the cause with which justifies the upright. Let these words be a sign of great caution. Before the chasm of the great divide break between our ranks, let us together reason the current state of affairs. The conduct unlike the values we espouse is an invitation to those who would see us be harmed. The enemy entices those innocents with malicious intent, yet I am confident that a crisis cannot be won with the strong hearts and wills to deny them victory over us. The present crisis is not bore out of malice or revenge, but rather it is the swift and kindred resentment of the suffering people, with no view but the good of all, have staked their own confidence in a seemingly inevitable end. Yet it is folly to argue against this determination, for the eloquent words of Orenian thinkers and patriots strike the ear, the language of sorrow but no less of zeal draw forth the winds of compassionate unity. Nothing can break the tempered steel of the heart of a true patriot. Ave Imperium. IV JOVEO MAAN, His Royal Majesty, King Marius II of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Hetman of the Army, Prince of Kusoraev, Dules, Ulgaard, Lahy, Sorbesborg and Slesvik, Duke of Adria, and Carnatia, Margrave of Rothswald, Count of Karikhov, Baranya, Kvasz, Kavat, Karovia, Kovachgrad, Torun, Turov, and Kaunas, Viscount of Alamar, Baron of Valwyk, Venzia, Esenstadt, Krepost and Kralta, Lord of the Westfolk, Lord of Markev, Protector of the Highlanders, etcetera

  6. A Response to the False Pretender: In Defense of Sovereignty 17th of Sigismund’s End, 1715 Va Birodeo Herzenav e Edlervik, As we embark on this present course, we acknowledge the many sacrifices that our men have made for the objective and moral cause of human freedom and peace. Our times warrant an objective truth. Our people yearn to be freed from the burdens of injustice and oppression. The final rectification comes from unity through the true Emperor, Joseph I. You mischaracterize this Empire. You have in such condescending and untruthful terms branded it a “Haeseni Empire.” It attests to your oblivious nature to resort to monikers and titles to accommodate your simple mind. Your rule only concerns itself with its authority over another, not the unity and lawfulness that true leadership should espouse. As I return to your point on such a “Haeseni Empire” that you have denounced, you fail to see the greater work being had. The Holy Orenian Empire stands. It is this regime that seeks to fix the decades of disunion and fragmentation that the Pertinax line has allowed to wrack the body of the human realm. The Holy Orenian Empire maintains the ardent belief in Human Unity, the tenets of undeniable truths in the Faith, and the Peace and Law that upholds the spirit of humanity together as one. The Holy Orenian Empire is the embodiment of such unity. The many dynamic vassal states stand under the banner of Emperor Joseph I as a diverse and resolute imperial polity that stands poised to protect its sovereignty from the shackles of Renatian vices. Our respective governments heed to the true Imperial Crown. We stand with our Emperor Joseph I, who by his presence among us is the defender of human sovereignty, Head of the Commonwealth of Man, Protector of our Liberties. The nobility that you address are beholden to no one but to the cause to uphold the right with GOD as our witness. The Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and the nobles in the Kingdom of Curon, the Golden City of Ves, the County of Leuven, the Princedom of Fenn, and all who labor thereof affirm our sovereignty and in defense of the Holy Orenian Empire. May GOD uphold our Emperor, Joseph I.

  10. FROM THE THRONE: A RESPONSE TO ROMULUS AND TO ALL RENATIAN PRETENDERS 15th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1715 Va Birodeo Herzenav e Edlervik, I write out of candor and sincerity to the words penned by Romulus of the Pertinaxi Pretenders, for his words are written out of dishonest zeal. As king, my obligation is to my subjects with whom I am bound for their security, stability, and service. Long has it been overdue that the reign for the Aurelian Regime to recognize the burdens it has brought unto the people of humanity. “To the people of Haense, where was the bravado when you allowed Adria to be burned? Where was the love for Adria as it burned?” Romulus of Renatus audaciously questions my honor and my loyalty to humanity. For it was not I who sought to burn down the homes and graneries of Adria. Nay, it was your Emperor Antonius who ordered the destruction of their lands and livelihoods. Before you ask me for my bravado and goodness, ask your own kin where his judgment and leadership lies? How can I be criticized for an action brought to my feet by the man who I was sworn to obey? The tyranny and burning of Adria begins with the top. Take accountability for your family’s decisions! My entire being goes to the people of Adria. As their Duke, I know my obligation to my people and to that I regret that I did not do more to protect them from the unjust dominion of the Pertinaxi. It is I who is to be bound by GOD’s judgment for this passiveness and with that I extend my hand of cooperation, my tears of grief, and my anger against those who sought to burden my people with the fires of attrition. “Haense has been one of the most loyal vassals to the Imperium. Your predecessor Sigmar bent the knee to my great-grandfather, and you decide to not uphold your family’s oath to mine, no you side with the false pretenders.” I cannot be an oathbreaker when the Empire that you have accused me of betraying is no more. Was it not your Emperor Antonius, who declared himself the last Emperor of this line, who released us vassals of our oath and allegiance? I now must make the decisive choice that a king must make, one that you and your princelings no nothing about. My late grandfather, King Sigmar Lothar, was a man with great judgment. In the interests of protecting Haense and the unification of Man, he bent the knee with the hope of securing a lasting integrity and dignity from the lieges who would govern this newly proclaimed Imperial dynasty. I follow in this model of leadership, recognizing this same vision that he once did. However, I must forge a new path for the Highlanders. That is why Joseph I of Marna is my liege to whom I swear my unconditional allegiance and cooperation. My predecessors have suffered enough of your family’s unjust dominion. My judgment serves me right and I know that even GOD Himself who sits justly in the Seven Skies knows this to be true. I am a man not of meekness as you suggest. I am a man of resolve. I am Marius II.

  18. 6th of Siegmund’s End, 1712 In the streets of Vez, Brube, a pretender to the name of Barbanov, was tracked down by the valiant Ser Jan, knight of the Dual Monarchy. Ser Jan sought to bring the boy into the crown’s custody, calling on the good Ser Rodrik to do so. However, some rapscallion among them whispered poisoned words, and instead the guards of Vez took him into their own custody for some purpose unknown. With the guards of Vez unwilling to give up their new prisoner, Ser Rodrik stormed the prison and valiantly, by the grace of GOD above who lent his heart courage, brought the boy into Hansetic custody, whereupon he was brought to the Crown. Ser Rodrik is a man of virtue, and his actions perhaps saved the boy. In exchange for his life, the boy Brube agreed to cease calling himself Brube Barbanov. Renouncing his name, he proved himself to be more virtuous than his brother. Let all men know that although the vengeance of the Crown is swift, it is also merciful; Brube hereby renounces his claims to the Barbanov name and all titles that come with it. He forfeits the claim to be the descendant of Petyr Josef Barbanov, making any claims from his line Illegitimate. He shall take the name Brube Olenk Buzabec Brube shall be cared for by the Crown of Haense, and taken as a ward to King Marius II of Haense. He shall not longer be hunted down, and treated as a citizen of the Kingdom of Haense and all rights and protection that comes with it. If Brube breaks his oath or and of his descendants, and once again claims the Barbanov name or any titles that come with it, they’ll be charged with high treason and executed. IV JOVEO MAAN, His Royal Majesty, King Marius II of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Hetman of the Army, Prince of Kusoraev, Dules, Ulgaard, Lahy, Sorbesborg and Slesvik, Duke of Adria, and Carnatia, Margrave of Rothswald, Count of Karikhov, Baranya, Kvasz, Kavat, Karovia, Kovachgrad, Torun, Turov, and Kaunas, Viscount of Alamar, Baron of Valwyk, Venzia, Esenstadt, Krepost and Kralta, Lord of the Westfolk, Lord of Markev, Protector of the Highlanders, etcetera Brube Olenk Buzabec
  19. 12th of Sun’s Smile, 1712 It has come to the attention of the Crown of the Dual Monarchy of Hanseti-Ruska that there are a certain collection of false men who claim to be of the House Barbanov, descended from the line of Petyr Barbanov. This assertion is laughably and demonstrably false. These men are nothing more than pretenders to the name who seek to do harm to the Kingdom in a low and cunning manner as fits their character. Let it be known that the persons Joseph, Brube, and Andrei, claiming to be of the House Barbanov, are denounced and disowned of any involvement with the true House and the Kingdom of Haense. They are not our people. Already, Andrei Petyr has been found and rightfully executed for his crimes against the Dual Monarchy. His execution is a righteous and holy message, to be sent to those who not only aided and conspired with him but all false men: you cannot run from the Light of GOD. Further, let it be known that should Joseph and Brube and any others who make sue claims not submit themselves to the Crown and humbly beg for forgiveness, cease their falsehoods, and accept any punishment that should lawfully be given to them, they will suffer the same fate as Andrei and be executed, in the Name of the LORD. The Dual Monarchy will not suffer such criminals to befoul the name of its royal family. Mercy may yet be attained for them; but only should they submit themselves to royal authority and be willing to accept what GOD and Crown rightfully see fit to punish them with. IV JOVEO MAAN, His Royal Majesty, King Marius II of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Hetman of the Army, Prince of Kusoraev, Dules, Ulgaard, Lahy, Sorbesborg and Slesvik, Duke of Adria, and Carnatia, Margrave of Rothswald, Count of Karikhov, Baranya, Kvasz, Kavat, Karovia, Kovachgrad, Torun, Turov, and Kaunas, Viscount of Alamar, Baron of Valwyk, Venzia, Esenstadt, Krepost and Kralta, Lord of the Westfolk, Lord of Markev, Protector of the High landers, etcetera
